HTC U12+ has the
Activity Reader feature that can read out certain notifications to you when you have a wired or
Bluetooth headset connected.
Note:
- Activity Reader currently supports English and is available in the U.S. only.
- To connect a 3.5mm headset, you need to use the
HTC USB-C Digital to 3.5mm Audio Jack Adapter. You can purchase the adapter on the HTC website.
- Not all
Bluetooth headsets are supported.
These are the types of notifications that
Activity Reader can read to you:
- Incoming calls
When your phone receives an incoming call, you'll hear a notification that tells you who is calling.
Note: If you're using a wired headset, you'll hear voice notifications only when your phone is in
Vibrate mode.
- Incoming messages
When you receive SMS messages from your contacts or emergency alert messages, you'll hear the message content read out to you. You'll also get voice notifications when you receive MMS messages.
Note: HTC
Messages needs to be your default messaging app for
Activity Reader to read out emergency alert messages.
- Calendar events
When event reminders pop up, you'll hear the calendar event details such as the time of the event. If there are several events at the same time, they will be read according to the following priority:
- Events you created
- Invitations you accepted
- Other events in your calendar
If the events have the same priority, they will be read in alphabetical order.
If you receive the above types of notifications at the same time, they will be read according to the following priority:
- Emergency alert messages
- Incoming calls
- Calendar events
- SMS messages from your contacts
