How do I set the default SMS app?

If you installed more than one SMS app on your phone, you can set which app will send and receive SMS.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Depending on your phone's Android version, do one of the following:
   • Android 7 or later: Tap , and then enter and tap SMS app.
   • Android 6: Tap Apps, and then tap > Configure apps > Default apps > Default messaging app.
3. Select your preferred messaging app.

Tip: To set HTC's app as the default, tap Messages. The Messages app can send and receive both SMS and MMS and allows Group Messaging (if the device and your mobile operator support it).
