Sending a group message

Group messaging makes it easy to send a message to multiple contacts all at once. You can choose to send a group SMS or group MMS.

Important:

Group MMS may incur extra data fees.
You can set the preferred SIM card you want to use for sending messages. See Choosing which SIM card to use for sending SMS and MMS for more details.

On the Home screen, tap the messenger icon to open the Google Messenger app.
To send your group message as an SMS or MMS:
- If you're using two SIM cards, tap > Settings then select the SIM card you want to use, and then tap Group messaging to choose between sending a group SMS or MMS.
- If you're using only one SIM card, tap > Settings > Advanced then tap Group messaging to choose between sending a group SMS or MMS.
Go back to the Google Messenger home screen then tap .
Do any of the following:
- Select multiple recipients from your contacts.
- To enter a mobile number, tap to start typing the numbers then tap to add it in the To field.
Tap . If this is your first time to send a group MMS, you may need to enter your mobile phone number.
Do any of the following:
- If you're using two SIM cards, tap to switch to another card then tap the message box to enter your message.
- If you're using only one SIM card, tap the message box to enter your message.
Tap to send the message.
Or, you can tap to save the message as a draft.
