Choosing a capture mode

Switch capture modes to takie photos or videos.
  1. To choose from the commonly used capture modes, swipe left or right above the shutter release button in portrait orientation—or swipe up or down in landscape orientation.
  2. Tap the capture mode you want to use.
  3. To choose from more capture modes, tap Capture mode menu icon, and then tap the mode to use.

Capture mode settings

You can change the settings for some of the capture modes such as Photo or Video mode.

You'll see the settings of the current capture mode at the top of the Viewfinder screen. To access more settings, tap Camera Settings icon.

In the panel, tap a setting to toggle it on and off or to cycle through its options.

Icon Description Available modes
Choose a flash setting. All modes except AR Sticker, Bokeh, Night, Panorama, and Top Picks
Toggle scene detection on and off. Photo
Choose from the available photo filters. Photo
Cycle through the self-timer options. Photo / AR Sticker / Bokeh / Night / Pro / Wide Angle
Toggle touch capture on and off. When on, you can tap the screen to take a photo. Photo/ AR Sticker / Night / Pro / Wide Angle
Set the aspect ratio. Photo / AR Sticker / Pro
Show or hide the grid. Photo / Pro
HDR mode button Set HDR to auto, on, or off. Photo
Toggle auto smile capture on and off. Photo
Set the video resolution. Video / Beauty Video
Toggle anti-shake on and off. Video
Access more camera settings. Photo / Video / AR Sticker / Bokeh / Night / Wide Angle
