Wi-Fi Calling

When you're in a place with limited cellular coverage but with Wi‍-Fi connection, use Wi-Fi Calling to make and receive calls over Wi‍-Fi using your available rate plan minutes.

To use Wi-Fi Calling, please use the SIM card shipped with your device. A different SIM card may not work with the Wi-Fi Calling feature. You must also have a 911 emergency address registered with your account. Log into your account on the mobile_operator website. Go to your profile and click Customer Info and follow the menu options to register your address. It is recommended that you keep your registered address up to date.

Note: Corporate accounts may require administrator assistance for 911 Address registration.

Using Wi-Fi Calling

Once enabled, Wi-Fi Calling is activated the moment you connect your HTC 10 to a Wi-Fi network.

From the Home screen, slide open the Notifications panel, and then tap Wi-Fi Calling.
Read the important notice about emergency calling, and then tap Dismiss.
Go to the Phone dialer, Call History, or People app to make calls.

Turning Wi-Fi Calling on or off

From the Home screen, tap , and then tap Settings > Call.
Under Enhanced Communications, select or clear the Wi-Fi Calling check box.
Press .

Note: When turning Wi-Fi Calling off, it may take some time before the check box clears.

Changing Wi-Fi Calling settings

From the Home screen, tap , and then tap Settings > Call.
Under Enhanced Communications, tap Wi-Fi Calling.

Tap Connection Preferences and select a connection option.

Wi-Fi preferred	When you make calls, the Wi‍-Fi network is preferred over the cellular network. You must stay in the Wi‍-Fi range when calling.
Cellular network preferred	When you make calls, the cellular network is preferred over the Wi‍-Fi network.
Never use cellular network	HTC 10 will always use the Wi‍-Fi network when you make a call. You must stay in the Wi‍-Fi range when calling.
