Taking a photo

Take photos and selfies, even while recording videos.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Point the camera at what you want to capture. You can tap the screen to change the focus to a different subject.
  3. When you're ready to take the photo, tap .

Using HDR

When shooting portraits against a bright background, use HDR, short for High Dynamic Range, to capture your subjects clearly. HDR brings out the details of both the highlights and shadows, even in high contrast lighting.
Important:
  • Make sure you're in normal capture mode. See Choosing a capture mode for details.
  • HDR works best when your subject is steady. The camera takes two shots at different exposure levels and combines them into one enhanced photo.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Tap to enable HDR.
  3. When you're ready to take the photo, tap

Taking a panoramic photo

Get a wider shot of a landscape in one sweep.
Note: Some camera features and photo settings are not available when you’re in panorama mode.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Switch to Panorama mode. See Choosing a capture mode for details.
  3. Put your camera in portrait or landscape view.
  4. When you're ready to take the shot, tap .
  5. Start panning in the direction of one of the directional arrows and then match the white arrow with the blue arrow on the Viewfinder screen.
  6. Continue panning and hold HTC Desire 650 dual sim as steadily as you can while capturing frames.

    You can tap to stop and save your captured frames or to cancel without saving.

The camera stitches the frames into a single photo.

Taking photos with the self-timer

When you use the self-timer, the Camera app counts down before taking the shot. You can set the countdown time.
Important: Make sure you're in normal capture mode. See Choosing a capture mode for details.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Tap > .
  3. Tap Self timer to set the countdown time.
  4. To start the timer, tap . The camera takes the photo after the countdown.

Taking burst shots

Do you want to take photos of moving subjects? Whether it’s your kid's football game or a car race, you can capture the action.
Important: Make sure you're in normal capture mode. See Choosing a capture mode for details.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Tap > .
  3. Tap Capture number to set the maximum number of shots you can take on burst mode.
  4. Press and hold .The camera takes consecutive shots of your subject.

Taking selfies

Use the front camera to take selfies.
Important: Make sure you're in normal capture mode. See Choosing a capture mode for details.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Tap to switch to the front camera.
  3. When you're ready to take the photo, tap .

Applying skin touch-ups

Before taking a selfie, touch-up your skin using real-time beauty features from the Camera app.
  1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
  2. Position your face inside the focus area then tap .
  3. Tap to remove wrinkles or whiten your skin before taking a selfie.
