Why am I prompted to enter a password to decrypt my phone when I restart or turn it on?

To help protect your data, Android encrypts your phone storage when you have set a screen lock. You'll need to use the screen lock pattern, numeric PIN or other password to decrypt the phone storage whenever you turn on or restart your phone.

Note: This feature may not be available on some phones.
