Q: My phone was advertised as a “Zero Gap Construction” phone. When I look at the speaker grills I can see slight gaps between the speaker grill and main body. Is this a warranty issue or something I should send in for repair?
A: Your phone is likely within specification. The front speaker grills are cosmetic and not part of the primary body of the phone. A hairline space between the speaker grill and frame will have no impact on performance.
Q: My phone has a scratched screen! Isn’t Gorilla Glass supposed to be resistant/invincible/unscratchable?
A: Gorilla Glass is tempered glass that resists most scratches, breaks, and chips. This does not mean it is invincible. Although it is highly resistant, it is important to remember that things like sand, grit, or other hard materials can cause scratches. Never slide the phone face down on a table or use in a sandy environment. Be aware of environments where metal, sand, glass or rock particles may be present. If you need to clean the screen, very gently use a soft cloth to wipe any material off the phone before applying more pressure to remove streaks and smudges.
Q: If I need to replace the battery in this phone one or two years down the line, will I be able to do this? How much will it cost?
A: You will not be able to replace the battery yourself; however, HTC repair facilities can do this procedure for you if needed. Throughout the lifecycle of the phone, costs to repair or replace components may change due to fluctuations in part values and supplies. If there is a defect with a phone that is covered under warranty, the repair cost will be covered by HTC.
