In the Notifications panel, how do I remove the notification that says a certain app is running in the background?

If you are unable to swipe away an app notification, you can block it so that it won't appear again in the Notifications panel.

1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then press and hold the app notification you want to block.
2. Depending on your phone's Android version, do one of the following:
   • Android 9: Tap Stop notifications.
   • Android 8: Tap the Notifications On/Off switch.
   • Android 7: Select Block all notifications, and then tap Done.
   • Android 6 or earlier: Tap , and then tap Block all.
