Older HTC phone models that have
Android 5 Lollipop and earlier still support the
HTC Backup service.
Here's what can be backed up:
Home screen |
Home wallpaper, widgets, and home screen layout. |
Accounts and passwords |
Stores the login credentials for many popular email and social network accounts, such as Exchange ActiveSync, Outlook.com, and POP/IMAP.

App list |
Free apps you installed. App screen's grid size and sort order. |
Apps settings and data |
Data from HTC apps which include contacts, text messages, and call history. |
Device settings |
Ringtones, Wi-Fi networks and their passwords, and certain device settings. |
Important: Using a
Wi-Fi connection is recommended.
Depending on the amount of content, doing a manual backup through data connection may incur additional data costs and take a long time.
- Go to Settings, and then tap Backup & reset.
- If this is your first time to set up and use HTC Backup, tap .
Log in to your HTC Account by using your
Google, Facebook, or email account. Then choose the cloud storage account you want to use for backing up your phone.
- Tap Back up now to manually back up your phone.
It's recommended you do a daily backup of your phone when it's connected to a Wi-Fi network. Just turn on automatic backup.
