How do I switch to Google Voice Typing?
Although keyboard input is the primary method for entering text in your phone, you may wish to input text via voice typing.
To switch to Google Voice Typing, follow these steps:
  1. Open the app that you want to use for entering text.
  2. Tap the area where you want to enter text.
  3. On the onscreen keyboard, press and hold the microphone icon. Alternatively, you can slide open the Notifications panel, and go to Change keyboard > Google voice typing.
  4. When you see the animated microphone icon and the words "‍Speak now"‍, say the words you want to enter.
  5. With Google Voice activated, you can switch back to keyboard input by tapping the microphone icon to pause the voice input, and then tapping the keyboard icon.
