Q: What is HTC Sync Manager?

With HTC Sync Manager, enjoy the same rich media whether you're at your computer or on the move. Use it also to store your same contacts, important documents, and other data on both your HTC device and your computer.

HTC Sync Manager supports both Windows® and Mac®. You can use it to:

Manage your library of music, photos, and videos on your computer.
Play music and videos using the built-in player. You can also play iTunes® and Windows Media® Player playlists.
Import all music, photos, and videos from your HTC device.
Sync playlists and information such as contacts, calendar, documents, and web bookmarks between your HTC device and your computer.
Easily transfer your iPhone® photos, videos, messages, contacts, and more to your HTC device.
Browse and manage files on your HTC device (Mac only).

Q: What phone model does HTC Sync Manager support?

The HTC Sync Manager supports HTC Sense 4.0, 4+, 5.0 and after. You can connect to HTC Sync Manager via USB connection.

Q: How can I edit my photo on HTC Sync Manager?

With HTC Sync Manager, you can edit the photos anytime you'd like. Please follow the steps below:

Click Gallery tab on the upper left side of HTC Sync Manager
Select a photo you want to edit and double-click it
Please on click Edit icon on the upper right side of the window
Click on Detail to check the photo details such as file name, resolution, and the format itself
Choose Rotate Right/Left to rotate the photo clockwise/counterclockwise
Choose Crop to trim the photo by dragging the crop box
Click Apply when you finished trimming
There will be a warning message when you move to another photo, simply click OK to save the changes

NOTE: The Edit icon is represented by a pencial over a rectangle.

Q: How can I send photos or music to my phone by HTC Sync Manager?

You can transfer the photos, music, or videos to your HTC phone by following steps below:

Connect your HTC phone with HTC Sync Manager
Select the photo, music or video you want to transfer
Click on the Send to phone icon

NOTE: The Send to phone icon is the square icon with a plus sign next to it.

Q: How do I import music to HTC Sync Manager?

You can import music to HTC Sync Manager by following steps below:

Click the Music tab on the upper left side of HTC Sync Manager
Click on Settings
Click on Music library
Click on Add
On the dialog box, select the content you want to import
Click OK
Click Apply

Q: How can I uninstall HTC Sync Manager?

You can uninstall HTC Sync Manager by following steps below:
For Windows XP user, please select Control Panel from the Start, and select Add/Remove Programs icon when a new window is prompted. Click HTC Sync Manager then select Change/Remove button. The HTC Sync Manager will be uninstalled from your computer.

For Windows 7 user, please select My Computer from the Start, and select Uninstall or change a program button when a new window is prompted. Right click HTC Sync Manager then click Uninstall. HTC Sync Manager will be uninstalled from your computer.

Q: Playback of video files in HTC Sync Manager does not work, what can I do?

The following video formats can be played on HTC Sync Manager: 3GP, 3G2, WMV(Windows Media Video) and MP4 (Video codec: H.264).

You may install proper codec on your computer for supporting all video codes and formats on HTC Sync Manager.

NOTE: WMV formats is only supported in Windows platforms.

Q: How do I check my media files on HTC Sync Manager?

To check media files with HTC Sync Manager, please follow the steps below:

Click on the Music tab on the upper left side of HTC Sync Manager
Click Settings
Click on Music library
Click on Add
By adding the a directory of your media files, the HTC Sync Manager will automatically load all the media files in to Music or Gallery
You may also simply drag the file or folder to HTC Sync Manager

Q: How can I get song information for my music on HTC Sync Manager?

You can get the song information for your music on HTC Sync Manager by following the steps below:

Click Music
Click on LIBRARY to show your music albums
Right-click a song thumbnail or name
Click Get song information
Click Update song
Click Accept to update your music files with the new information found

Q: How can I crop my photos on HTC Sync Manager?

You can crop your photos on HTC Sync Manager by following the steps below:

Please click Gallery on the upper left side of HTC Sync Manager
Select a photo you want to edit and double-click it
Click on the Crop icon on the upper right side of the window, or right-click on the photo in the middle of the window and choose Crop
You can trim the photo by dragging the crop box, then click Apply
There will be a warning message when you move to another photo, simply click OK to save the changes

Q: Which will be the priority if there is a playlist conflict when using HTC Sync Manager between the phone and the computer?

You can set the priority for the playlist conflict by following the steps below:

Please make sure the phone is connected to the PC before open HTC Sync Manager on your computer
Click on the Music tab
Click on Settings
You can set the following priority when clicking on the drop down bar called When playlist conflicts occur:
Computer List
Mobile List
Click Ok when finished

NOTE: Your device name will be showed after is connected to the PC via HTC Sync Manager.

You can play a video on HTC Sync Manager by following the steps below:
Please click Gallery on the upper left side of HTC Sync Manager, then select a video you want to play and double-click it.

Q: What music format does HTC Sync Manager support?

The following music codecs and formats can be played on HTC Sync Manager: AAC, M4A, FLAC, MP3, WAV and WMA.

NOTE:

WMA format is only supported in Windows platforms.
M4A with AAC audio codec is support but M4A with ALAC audio codec is not supported.

Q: What image format does HTC Sync Manager support?

The following image codecs and formats can be displayed on HTC Sync Manager:
BMP, GIF, JPG and PNG.

The following document formats are supported for syncing to your phone by HTC Sync Manager:

Your HTC Sync Manager is set to launch upon detecting a HTC phone connection on default. If you HTC Sync Manager was not able to launch automatically you may do it manually by:

Click on Start
Click on All Programs
Click on the HTC folder
Click on the HTC Sync Manager folder

Q: How do I migrate from iPhone to HTC using HTC Sync Manager?

For your convenience and easy migration from iPhone to HTC, the HTC sync manager has a build-in step by step function to help you migrate. To migrate from iPhone to HTC please follow the steps below.

Click on the More tab
Click the Transfer button under "Transfer your content from an iPhone"
A pop up dialog will appear with instructions for you to backup your iPhone content using iTunes
Backup your iPhone using iTunes
Click Next HTC Sync manager after you have finished backing up with iTunes
Select the iPhone backup file you wish to migrate to HTC
Click OK
Select the contents you wish to migrate
Click Start

NOTE: You may migrate your contacts, messages, photos, videos, wallpaper and calendar from iPhone to your HTC phone.

Q: Which version of iPhones does HTC Sync Manager migration function supports?

HTC Sync Manager migration function supports iOS 4 and latter versions, and requires iTunes 9.2 and latter versions to function properly.

Q: How can I update my HTC Sync Manager?

When you start the HTC Sync Manager it will automatically check if there is a newer version available for update. You will be prompted to update to a newer version when a newer version is found.
For a manual update please check the official HTC website .

Q: How can I import new music files on my phone into HTC Sync Manager?

To import new music files on your phone to HTC Sync Manager please follow steps below:

Connect your phone to HTC Sync Manager via USB connection
nce connected there the device model will be displayed on the lower right corner of HTC Sync Manager
Click Music tab
Click Settings
Click on Copy all music from phone and make sure it's checked
Click on the Sync icon

NOTE: The Sync icon is the revolving circle icon on the lower right corner.

Q: Why my Chrome/Firefox bookmarks are not synchronized?

Close Chrome/Firefox and try again.

Q: Why I cannot use HTC Sync Manager when my phone's screen is locked?

For security reasons, you have to unlock your phone's screen to connect to HTC Sync Manager.

Q: I have some songs by a Chinese artist, when I update song information from internet by Gracenote, some updated info are in Chinese but some info are in English, what can I do?

You can provide partial song info in desired language and try again. For example, if you know the artist name in Chinese, manually update Artist name of song's information in Chinese, and then try update song information by Gracenote again.

Q:How do I import photos from my HTC phone to iPhoto on my Mac computer?

To import photos from a HTC Phone to iPhoto please follow the few simple steps below:

Connect your HTC Phone to your Mac computer.
Run HTC Sync Manager from Applications.
Click on the Gallery tab.
Click on the SETTINGS tab.
Under Sync Settings check Import photos and videos from phone.
Check Launch iPhoto and import photos to iPhoto.
Click Sync button.
After finishing sync, iPhoto would be launched automatically.

Q: After upgrading my phone to Sense 5.5, I found my PC/Mac cannot recognize my device. What can I do?

Please go to HTC Sync Manager website to download the latest version which includes new device drivers.
