My phone's GPS isn't working properly

You may be experiencing any of these issues:

Your phone can't find a location using GPS.
Your phone shows inaccurate location on the map when using GPS.

Note: This article has been optimized for HTC Sense 4.4 or higher. For older phones some of the procedures below may be different. Please consult phone-specific content to help with individual procedures.

Location issues are often caused by a weak GPS signal. Follow these steps to help improve your signal:

Check the map while outside of a building or vehicle. Walls, vehicle roofs, tall buildings, mountains, and other obstructions can block line of sight to GPS satellites.
Note: A GPS signal is strongest under the clear sky. If you can't see the sky, you'll have a weak GPS signal and your position on the map might not be correct.
Go to Settings > Location and make sure Location is ON.
Tap Mode > High accuracy.
Note: GPS accuracy varies depending on the number of visible GPS satellites. Locating all visible satellites can take several minutes, with accuracy gradually increasing over time.

Airplane mode affects High accuracy mode, since it disables Wi‍-Fi and mobile networks.

Go to Settings.
Make sure that Airplane mode is turned off.
