My phone's folders can't be opened when it's connected to my computer

You may experience your phone's folders showing as unopenable shortcuts when the phone is connected to your computer as a disc drive via USB.

This is typically caused by a system setting in your computer. Follow these steps:

  1. In your the Windows folder displaying your phone's files, navigate to Control panel > Folder options > View.
  2. Uncheck Hide system files and uncheck Hidden files.

NOTE: These items are normally hidden for your safety. Displaying these files could put your computer at risk, as you could accidentally delete a system file.
