How do I disable available Wi-Fi network notification sounds on my Windows phone?

You may wish to disable the sound your Windows phone makes when multiple wireless networks are available. Follow these steps to change audio notification settings:

  1. Navigate to Start > Settings> Sounds and Notifications.
  2. Select the Notifications tab.
  3. Select Wireless Network Detected from the dropdown list.
  4. Tap Ring Type and select None from the list.
This will disable the sound that the phone makes when multiple wireless networks are available.
The P4000, 6800, and Mogul also have a physical toggle that can turn wireless functionality off.
