Follow these steps to check your phone is set up for successful synchronization:
Synchronizing data between your phone and online accounts requires network coverage. Make sure you have signal on your device by accessing the internet on your device via your data connection or Wi-Fi network.
Make sure the contacts you want to sync are all stored on your phone and not on the SIM card.
Check your phone is set to sync its contacts by navigating to Settings > Accounts and checking Auto-sync data.
