My phone's weather widget is showing the wrong location

You may be experiencing any of these issues:

  • Your phone's weather widget fails to show your location correctly.
  • Your phone's weather widget fails to update your location.

Toggling the location settings in your app or phone may solve the issue. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the weather widget, and toggle the location option. 
  2. Navigate to Google services > Settings, and then toggle location. 
  3. Navigate to Settings and toggle Google location. 

Uninstalling and re-installing the weather widget may solve the issue. Follow these steps: 

  1. Turn on GPS. 
  2. Access the Android Market or Google Play Store. 
  3. Install an application called GPS Status and Toolbox. 
  4. Navigate to Menu > Tools > Manage AGPS State > Reset. 
  5. Remove the weather widget from the Home screen. 
  6. Clear the weather widget data.

    On an Android 2.x phone, navigate to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All tab > Weather provider > Clear data. 
    On an Android 4.x or higher phone, navigate to Settings > Apps > All > Weather > Clear data.

  7. Press and hold POWER until the Phone Options appear.
  8. Select Power Off and wait for the phone to fully turn off.
  9. Wait for a few moments, and then power the phone on by pressing and holding the POWER button.
  10. Re-install the weather widget.
