  1. Available storage is less due to phone software.
  2. Network bands in regions other than Europe and Asia Pacific may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile operator.
  3. NFC availability depends on the mobile operator and your location. Please check with your mobile operator.
  4. Battery times (talk time, standby time, and more) are subject to network and phone usage.
A Standby time specification ("specification") is an industry standard that is only intended to allow comparison of different mobile devices under the same circumstances. Power consumption in a standby state is strongly dependent on factors including but not limited to network, settings, location, movement, signal strength and cell traffic . Comparisons of different mobile devices using such a specification can therefore only be done in a controlled laboratory environment . When using any mobile device in real life circumstances for which the mobile device is intended, the standby time could be considerably lower and will be strongly dependent on the factors as mentioned above.

Note: Specifications are subject to change without prior notice

Rated 4 out of 5 by Absolutely Stunning This phone is beautiful and is extremely well built. All around great device. DISPLAY The Super LCD display is gorgeous! The phone itself is very nice. Very sharp details and crazy vivid colours. The Gorilla glass does a very good job of protecting the display. I have no worries when I slip it in to my pocket along with keys or loose change. No screen protector needed with this one. PHYSICAL BUILD The screen is almost flush with the body. The body feels super nice in your hand, it's not slippery but it's not rough. There is a bit of a raised ring around the camera lens that prevents the lens from being scratched when set down flat on a surface. The phone fits perfectly in the palm of my hand and it's very easy to use it with just one hand. Not too big, not too small. Just right. BUTTONS The camera button is very convenient to take pictures with. You can start the camera without even unlocking the phone. It takes less than 3 seconds to start the camera from standby. The volume rocker is very easily accessible. Even when in your pocket you don't have to fumble to turn it down without looking at it. The power button is easy to push with just one hand, not too far from the bottom of the phone. REAR CAMERA The rear camera takes AMAZING pictures. I have an HTC One X and it has the same camera as the 8X but the 8X takes considerably better pictures. They are very detailed and have good colour. FRONT FACING CAMERA The front facing camera is very good too. The wide angle lens makes taking pictures of yourself or pictures of you with friends very easy and the quality of the pictures is INSANE. I've never seen a clearer picture come from a front facing camera on a phone. SOUND The sound quality with this device is amazing! While in call the earpiece is very loud and clear. If you put the call through the loud speaker, its just as clear but much louder. When it comes to playing music, I love the Beats Audio that is built in to this phone. It sounds great through head phones and through the loud speaker. BATTERY LIFE The battery life on the phone is also amazing. The 8X easily beats the battery life on any phone I have ever used. Summary This phone is amazing. If you are looking for a Windows Phone 8 device, look no further. This phone is the phone for you. Just great. January 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE THE 8X I love this device, just flat out love it. The form factor is perfect for one hand and two hand holding. The screen is fantastic for viewing videos. I have been missing the camera shutter button and so glad HTC brought it back with the 8X. The camera alone is a huge WOW for me. The quality of the images are amazing. I am talking crystal clear photos and videos. The front facing camera with the wide angle lens allows me to take brilliant self shots and I can have all my friends and family in one shot. I like to vlog and the clear video that the front camera can record is a huge plus for me. The audio quality is top of the line in my opinion. I haven’t had any issues with hearing someone in noisy places and they can hear me very clearly. I also love the Beats integration that HTC did. I don’t own Beats headphones but you don’t need them to hear the difference. The high notes are clearer and the bass is ear bursting. I would recommend getting Beats headphones just to enjoy the full experience. I have not had any lag while using the device and I am what they call a power user. My phone is with me 24/7 and I am always on it. Having a dependable device at all times with awesome battery life is a must for me. Speaking of the battery life, I can make 2-3 days with light usage and 1-2 days with heavy usage. To me heavy usage is YouTube, Music, emails, phone calls, texts, etc.. I use the 8X for everything. Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Palm & Pocket Pal! A light powerful machine that fits in the palm of your hand. Sometimes your phone can be a hindrance. Make your palm and your pocket uncomfortable (especially if you’re wearing those awful pants again)! But not the 8x! The 8x’s slender design is light and sexy. It fits perfectly into the palm with all its buttons easy to touch without any need of your primary hands companion (the other hand). Because of the slim design it is so simple to navigate the OS, so you can be in and out of life with minor interruption to your daily tasks. Taking a phone call? That’s right, show off that sweet Californian blue style you’re digging or many other vibes available exclusively from HTC Windows Phones. The HTC 8x has exclusive apps too. My particular favourite is the HTC tile that shows me the date, time and weather all on one tile, of which no other phone can offer. Not forgetting the awesomeness that is built into the 8x too, HTC SENSE. That’s right HTC Sense is very popular across HTC’s phones and it is here too on the 8x! That’s not the only exclusivity this phone has... Like music? Then what are you still doing without this phone!? Built in to the 8x, exclusive to HTC is Dre’s Beats Amplifier. Imagine your favourite tunes, now imagine them enhanced by one of the most popular music brands in the world & feel your music come to life. Lastly one ultra cool tech the 8x has is its front facing camera. You will find no other phone capable of giving you wide angle shots that can fit you and your entire family in, in front of Big Ben! If you’re looking for a smart, easy, memorable experience that is extremely affordable compared to today’s Smartphone prices with a phone that can get you in and out of the important stuff, then look no further the 8x is your answer. The 8x is the perfect palm & pocket pal, ready for the future, waiting for you. January 31, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Device! While very functional and capable, this phone's biggest claim to fame is it's amazing design. I have never held a phone that is it's equal. SOUND QUALITY: Sound quality is really good on this phone. While I think the beats thing is a bit gimmicky, it doesn't change the fact that of the 4 smartphones I've had over the years (and media players) this cranks out the loudest, and clearest sound. That includes call quality too! (it is phone after all). If sound quality is important to you, take this phone very seriously. CAMERAS: Front facing camera is the best on the market bar none. Rear facing camera is very good too, but not quite as good some others I've used (though pretty darn close). SCREEN: Screen is just the right size for me (though some may find 4.3" too big). Screen is what you would expect from top-tier smartphone and is one of the best from a color accuracy/brightness/glare perspective. The resolution is plenty high giving this a great crisp display (though not retina, you can't notice the difference even when holding it right up to your face - I did this with an iPhone4s). DESIGN: I love the shape and feel of the phone, it fits so nice in my hand, and in my pocket since it has a nice slim tapered body. The color is very eye catching (mine is the blue one) and EVERYONE I know comments on how striking it is. BATTERY: Battery is average. Easily gets through the whole day for me, though not quite 2. DURABILITY: I don't use a case (doesn't really need one because of the gorilla glass on the front and whatever you call that grippy material on the back). Had it for about a month now and it's actually taken a few mild tumbles onto the floor. Not even a scratch on it so I'm pretty impressed so far. If you're considering this phone, all you need to do is hold one in a store and you'll probably like it. MY ONE GRIPE: Windows Phone 8 aside (it's still maturing), this phone has all the bells & whistlers save one important one for me - a microSD slot. It's true that with cloud storage it's not as important to me as it used to be, but I still miss having one. OS: Windows Phone 8 is very very easy to use and pretty intuitive, it does offer more out of the box than Android/iPhone IMHO, but still has to catch up in the app department. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I would challenge anyone to actually use it before dismissing it as you will probably be pleasantly surprised on how nice WP8 is to use - as someone who has had iOS & android stuff, I was quite impressed and look forward to seeing how the OS progresses. I will say that there are one or two apps I do miss from Android (my previous phone) January 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Incredible piece of hardware This is a masterpiece that has to be seen to fully understand the intricacy of the design. A work of art to look at and a pleasure to hold and use. HTC has gone great lengths to perfect the design and the materials used in creating this phone. Under the bonnet hardware is completely matched to the outer design performing even better than the specs would suggest. And than you fire up the camera. From this point on you will forget about your regular point&shoot camera as this phone will make it redundant! Fantastic pics, HD video, great performance. In a nutshell all you could ask for. Everything on this phone is smooth and well balanced, from the design, to the hardware and battery. Everything just simply works. If you're thinking about a Windows phone, think no further!A massive recommendation from me! February 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A refreshing alternative to iPhone or Android I decided to try a Windows Phone after getting a bit bored with iPhone and Android. I looked at the Nokia Lumia 920 but for me it was too big and cost nearly another £200 sim free. I'm pleased with my 8X - it's fast, the OS is great, the screen is awesome and the sound is excellent. It's well made and easy to hold. Couple of niggles (1) the power on button is more difficult to use than it should be, and for a phone that has no other way of waking up apart from the dedicated camera button this is a bit of a design flaw; and (2) not HTCs fault I know, but on such a great phone for music I NEED Spotify. So overall, I think this is the best WIndows 8 Phone out there at the moment. February 1, 2013
