I'm really happy with this mobile. It's my best so far. Actually everything is perfect: size, screen, design, quality, battery etc.
The only thing is, that because OS will not let you install apps on your memory card the internal memory is too small. I can't update it because of that. Except that I LOVE THIS PHONE AND WINDOWS PHONE OS! I don't even thing about getting back to android witch gives me headache!
Thank You HTC team:)

Overall a good cheap phone but not being able to store apps on the SD card is a major con.
Dont but this Phone. spend a bit more and get a phone with built in memory.
if it wasnt for that i would give this a 4/5
but because of this issue it gets 2/5
HTC fix this NOW!!!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Roopoo2u Average phone with issues
There are basic issues with this phone which I wouldn't expect from HTC. Storage: i've put a 16 GB SD card in and it is only showing 14.8 available. It has 3.6GB phone storage but most of it is already taken up. I don't have many apps installed, just the standard like facebook, linkedin and twitter, and all music and photos are stored on the SD card. When it needed to do a software update I had to uninstall ever app for it to be able to do the update and then reinstall them again.
Ability to manage data on the Phone is very poor. Even in the settings it doesn't tell you what is taking up space.
I have had issues with the camera. take 4 or 5 pictures and the phone freezes and stops working. I then have to power off and on to get it to work again, so not very reliable when you are trying to capture shots of your children and the moment is lost!
Having said all this, the user interface is easy to use and music with beats audio is good, so it's not a complete duffer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jogi6 GREAT HARDWEARE – USSLES OS
So where do I begin. After 2 months of use, storage situation is like this.
Phone: (all off this should be 0 MB, expect apps and system. + there is Other????. On PC all folders are empty)
3.39 GB / 3.61 GB used
Music + videos – 97.04 MB
Pictures – 6.21 MB
Apps 444.05 MB
Other – 961.05 MB (nobody knows what this is and it is growing)
System 1.92 GB
Free space – 219.61 MB
2.25GB / 14.65 GB used
All off my pictures, videos and music are on SD card
And beside storage problems, u can’t install anything on SD only store pictures, music, videos. And all off my pictures and music have multiple files on phone but only one physical file. You take a photo and in you’r albums you have somewhere between 2-5 copies of same picture. Music is worse either I have copies of same album with only one song in each one or I have one album with multiple copies of some song
(1. Song name
1. Song name
1. Song name
2. Next song name
2. Next song name
2. Next song name
3. Next next song name…)
You decide if you want to buy it, as I sad it is a great hardware, but terrible OS
I would put Android if I could any day. And I am locking into that.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by tdyck12345 Memory is the killer
The phone is almost perfect for someone who is looking for an economy phone, except with one gotcha: the internal memory is too small and fills up with apps and app data quickly.
Why not make 32 gb internal memory standard? I bought a 32 GB SD card for $20. I'd pay $20 extra for this phone for more memory.
It really is a killer.
Otherwise, great phone.
Hopefully Microsoft fixes this issue by allowing a user to install apps on the SD card.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by gemmabump13 worst phone i have ever had
I am on my second htc windows 8s now due to the first one i dropped and screen cracked straight away, my second one i bought a screen protector and a leather case to prevent this occurring it fell out of my pocket this morning on my laminate floors with the case on and the screen has smashed,
i previously had a blackberry curve had that for 2 years not one problem,
Accidents do happen and your bound to drop your phone, i am very annoyed at htc for inventing a phone that isnt as strong as they say it is.
i am a carefully person and looks after my belongings .
Very disapointed i will know have to pay another £50 for a phone i dont want.

I love HTC and the Windows phone HTC is just amazing for using. The only thing I would propose HTC to do, it's to allow people who use this phone as me to have the option to install other software, especially google application. The software are very limited and I can't find my applications, so please increase it and you will see how excellent this smartphone will be.
I recommend this phone to people who love IT, not just because I am a fan of HTC, but because I can use it as a mini laptop.
AGAIN, PLEASE INCREASE THE PHONE FOR USING OTHER APPLICATION.

I love this phone and can imagine myself having fun times during the two years I have this phone. My only complaint is the store. Sure,it has great games and exclusives like Halo:SP but it lacks other games and apps most other phones have. After moving to this phone from my previous Iphone, I had to play cheap minecraft Rip-Offs as the windows store lacks not only that, but other great titles like candy crush, temple run 2( though surprisingly it has temple run original) and others that made the google play store and appstore awsome

Where is the turn-by-turn gps navigation? It's 2013 people! Plus, why do the labels for contact's phone numbers/emails not change when I select a new one? They revert to the label the contact has selected on Facebook etc.
Definitely expected a better user experience!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Amit261988 Nice if you neglect the internal memory storage limit
The phone is amazing as far as the looks, the sound quality and the interface is concerned, But i believe the more important is the available memory for downloading the Apps,
This is the only draw back which brings it to a lower ranking,
We really need latest firmware launch, so that we can download the apps to the SD card otherwise there is no use of the expandable external memory.
You should really work on this, As if you would be successful, i will rank it as the best Windows phone in the market.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Mgramcy I shouldn't bought this phone
Hi, I bought this phone 1 month ago. The first Cons. of this phone is the memory, because user available is 1.5 gb. U can't install much apps and u can't erase unwanted others files in setting. And another big problem is. If u have downloaded any pdf file u can't able to delete it. Then how u want to delete things up. And u can't install apps on your SDcard like in other android phones. The beats audio is made awesome the headphones and the cons is the phone speaker are not supported with the beats audio like other htc android phones. Battery consumption, icons if u were using wifi, in 10 minutes browsing internet, 6 percent battery gone. Well so far the apps in store need to improve. But the design and look is good.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Barbra Good phone, but very poor memory.
Had this phone for 6weeks. Love the windows 8 feature with it's ease of use. However, the phone storage is very poor, I've set everything I can to store on the SD card but the phone memory seems to drop every week. I deleted apps I've installed, even deleted photos on the SD card and Sky drive thinking these may be effecting the memory. If ever there is a phone update I think my phone will crash I only have 706MB left!

Sorry for the bad English . i am using this phone since a 10 days.
the main drawback is phone storage because of this i had formatted my phone for 2 times , and i think HTC should solve this problem and they should create some htc apps in the htc store as Nokia got so many games .

At first 1 month it was awesome phone with long life battery, Since yesterday night I check for windows update via wifi but there were no update. Then at the time it was 97 % battery life and shows 3 days... And I've got set in battery saver mode. When see that today morning it shows 17 % battery life remaining. Holly cow. So is there any explanation for this? I wish this problem will not happen again. I've got use Nokia lumia 620 previously but there is no problem like this. Now I'm frustrating why I bought windows phone rather than android. Please do give me some details why this happens.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Engineer Nokia Lumia 620 beats it !
I own 8S right now; comparing it with Nokia Lumia 620, lumia simply beats it easily due to huge range of apps + GPS navigation with voice + nokia city lens + larger internal memory, which is 8 GB while HTC is only 4 GB. 8S in fact doesn't have much apps as lumia does, the GPS is terrible on 8S, on the other hand, in Lumia, it is excellent; extremely accruate, smooth and user friendly. Lumia has also a secondary camera.
I have tried the Lumia, and I regret that I bought the 8S, since both phones have the same price !
Other than the above complaints, HTC is perfect especially the beats technology, the long battery life, and the larger screen. Please, more applications have to be issued for 8S.
I hope that HTC 8S developers would provide more useful updates that would boost the 8S to go into competition with the Lumia !

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Nohope Don't get this phone
This phone is very limited and a very disappointing experience. Having had the HTC 8S for two months I have found the following lists of faults:
Very small memory - after adding 3 or 4 apps or games the memory will be full and adding an SD card does not help (see next fault)
Unable to add memory - Even when you add an SD card you can only save music and pictures on it. The phone will not let you save apps to the SD card and so the memory is still very limited.
Volume - All volume is controlled together, so if you have music playing you have to turn the volume down (as above 15 it is very loud) but if you forget to turn volume up again after you will not hear the phone ring as ringtones are very quiet and it needs to be set at full (30) to enable you to hear it. This is the same fault for the alarms and any other sound on the phone.
Linking to email accounts - this is very hard. The phone continually disconnects and spends ages reconnecting, if it ever can (does not connect to Gmail accounts)
Camera - although the camera is very good quality to see any pictures you have just taken you have to close the camera and go into a separate app (pictures) to view. This means it takes ages just to see if the photo was any good.
Lack of apps - the phones built in settings are not good enough for a lot of the better and more popular apps so you are unable to download them. Also if you have less than 1GB of memory left you cannot download anything including updates!
Constant crashes - the phone continually jams and resets its self at random. Also it has completely reset back to factory settings on its own more than once loosing all info more than once.
Touch screen sensitivity - The screen is not very responsive, except the Bing search button that reacts to anything that goes within a hundred yards of it. Very frustrating.
Battery life - very short if you make or receive calls and will not last 24hrs if you do.
I have found the following good things about the phone:
........er, well, it's blue, er, umm, and, er, the camera takes very good pictures (but see above faults). That is the good points finished.
I have had HTC phones for years and been very happy with them but this really is the worst phone I have have ever had. I will be buying a new phone soon (different make) and selling this to some poor unsuspecting soul on ebay.

this phone is very bad and I don't recommend it to anyone. I got mine 11 months ago for Christmas and after 4 months all the memory was used up and I had no apps or music on the phone. it then started getting worse when it said that I had used all my memory up and I was unable to send texts for 4 weeks until I deleted all my contacts and calander and everything. I would not recommend it to anyone!!

The phone is not the best out there, but for the price you get an excellent package.
The design of the phone is phenomenal, build quality is fantastic and the size is just right. I like a lot of things in this phone and only have some minor issues with it. I'd appreciate a slightly sharper Camera, and currently there is a small WinPhone8 bug related to storage (this however should be fixed).
