Rated 4 out of 5Â by SunnyRay Great for the price
I had to get used to it, because it is smaller than my previous windows phone.
The HTC Titan, which I still miss.
The only regret that I have is that I did not buy the HTC 8X.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by vamsi3001 Best Phone ever in design
Its been 6 months I bought this phone and never had a issue with the phone. Look of the phone is really unique and feels amazing. Sound quality of beats is improved from previous versions of HTC you will have the ultimate sound experience. It falls at Internal storage buts its not a issue unless you use 10-15 daily that would rarely happen. Its the best phone for the current price in Windows Phone Line.

This phone is very good, actually it is the best smartphone in its range, if you compere it to samsung, LG, sony...

My friend has got a samsung galaxy sIII mini and my phone is much better and it was cheaper than his.
I like this phone very much!!!!!!! :)

Rated 2 out of 5Â by ChaB A brilliant concept with poor execution!
I switched to htc 8S back in February and was blown away by the potential. 5 months later unfortunately the phone is not holding up, the rubber skin has worn off (annoyingly not covered in warranty) and apparently a lot of people are facing this issue and is something you don't ever expect from htc...my previous phone was htc hd win phone lasted me 3 yrs without an issue. Memory got filled up really soon but cannot say much cause I knew it before buying the phone..the phone in itself is brilliant in design and looks but I am absolutely disappointed with the build on this..would not recommend it for people buying a phone for more than 6 months. Being a true htc loyalist...on this one Htc your all wrong and I am paying for it cause the phone has plenty of issues like repairing the power button.. battery life poor..processor inadequate..just that it looks good! Cover issues like rubber wearing off in warranty please as the phone looses the sole reason for buying it...definately guys don't buy this one!!!

I watched a lot of reviews of this phone on youtube and I could not wait to get one myself. And when I did, I was so happy and excited. But after a day of use, I've already been through every feature on this phone and filled the internal memory. When I realized I can't put apps on SD card I was so sad and angry that I literally started crying. My 6 month fantasy has been ruined. Also, I realized that this phone does not support NFC. More damage to my heart. Even though it has only 4GB of internal memory, does not have a front facing camera and does not support NFC, it is a very good phone. The SD card and cache issue and very small amount of apps, that is strictly microsofts problem. It's not HTCs fault that the Windows Phone OS is so limited. HTC 8S with Android OS on it would be a lovely combination. However, the phone I wanted so badly has been returned from where it came from.

The best phone available to get for this price tag. The phone is very good to use and has never hanged up once. the camera is the only one feature lacking to reach the mark. The windows 8 OS is really superb in performance.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by MarcinP Amazing experience !
A fourth smartphone in my life.
My first Windows Phone 8.
Most fun from all the phones I have used !
Until now I have been using a Symbian and - until recently - Android phones (two major brands, not HTC). My first impression was that Windows Phone 8 is very, very user friendly. All the features out-of-the-box are similar to these I had in the Android phone after "rooting" and modifying quite a lot of system parts.
And concentrating on the phone itself, I have to highlight these features that impressed me most :
- music with Beats Audio : all I can say is a big WOW. Not just me, also my wife and a few of my friends. But this is really difficult to describe, it must be just heard personally...
- a really good camera with all the necessary options at the fingertips, and with absolutely great ergonomy
- overall system concept and performance is great, I have not experienced any lags nor glitches
- Internet browsing is very fast
- build quality and design is another WOW. My hands were shaking when I was unpacking this beauty ;-)
To sum up, I have to say that moving from Android (which I had enough of) was a great decision. Now I can just enjoy all the features without worries. No need to look for "custom roms" because "this is working and that is not" ;-)
Congratulations, HTC. You have acquired a really satisfied customer !

Rated 4 out of 5 For its price, extraordinary
the 8s is a great headset, beautiful design, easy to use, infinite battery life.
i have only 1 bad thing to say and its about the poor task manager options.
other than that, for my opinion, its the best phone you can get at this price, no doubt.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by vyc007 Sorry, going back to Android!
I thought I'd be open-minded and give this phone a try, as I was intrigued by the hype. I bought this after losing my HTC Sensation, and love HTC phones, but as I've just discovered after two days owning the Windows 8 phone, I only love them on Android OS.
Firstly, I'm not able to back up my contacts (unless to Live) as the software for my PC simply won't download to recognise the phone, I cannot transfer music, photos and data to and from the phone, not sure why but it just won't copy over (never had this problem even on the most basic of phones). I am slightly confused as to why this "windows" phone won't work with my Windows OS PC. Apps are limited, it forces you to use hotmail/facebook for contacts, as aforementioned you can't back up your contacts to your PC... well I can't get my phone to talk to my PC full stop so I'm not even sure whether it syncs with other Microsoft programmes. I can't seem to get anything onto the phone or off the phone (even with an SD card). OneNote doesn't seem to sync properly. There's no functionality to add tasks or manage tasks, the calendar seems very basic. You can't sign out of Skype once logged in, apparently this is common Windows 8 problem (again weird, thought Skype was sleeping with Microsoft these days?!). Basically, it doesn't seem to be able to perform the basic functions of a smart phone!
On the plus side, the size and weight of the phone is spot on for me (but that's thanks to HTC and not Microsoft). The live tiles are a gimick, but kind of fun. The choice of light and dark background is quite good, but there are very few options to really customise your phone. I also quite liked the tracking option available. Having lost a phone a recently, I found the ability to track your phone on your Live account pretty nifty.
Unfortunately, this is worse than using an Apple product (and I have a very strong aversion to Apple products!). I think I can see the potential of the Windows 8 phone, but Microsoft really have to sort it out and its compatibility with its own products. Spending two days trawling through open source forums to work out how to fix your problems is not what I paid for, I expect a seamless, error free user experience. Luckily, my supplier offers 7-day cooling off period, and this phone is going straight back.
Sorry HTC, I can't recommend this phone but not because of HTC but because of the OS.

It's a good phone but it has no NFC. But it's still a good mid-range phone if you are looking for a Windows Phone 8 device with tons of features that is 4inches.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Vandan Great Phone!
This is a Awesome Phone!
It has a Amazing Screen for its Cheap Price!
The Camera Included is also Above-Expectations!
I really Recommend this Phone if You are Looking for a Mid-Ranged Light, Portable and Sleek Phone.
This is a Absolute Power-House! With a Dual-Core 1Ghz Snapdragon S4 Processor and Beats Audio Integration Removes the Need of a External Speaker!
The Web Experience for Splendid their is a Noticible Change from the Windows Phone 7 Browser. The HTML 5 Support Fully Works and is Quite Remarkable.
But I Must Criticize the Lack of Storage on this Phone with only 1.5gb usable there is a Need for external Memory to be Brought. Also It Lacks NFC. The Camera is Pretty Good but I have seen Better.
If you want a Phone with a Seductive Screen and Outstanding Aesthetics and a Sleek, Ergonomic Option.
This is the Way to Go!
Also a Great option for Developers!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by techstro verry good phone - phone internal storage
This is a great phone, i just love it. With this phone i discovered Beats Audio wich sounds great.
HTC 8S is a great phone overall, in almost all ways you would think about.
But i really dont understand why so less storage memory, atleast you should let apps get installed on sd card.
If i didnt had this storage problem i would give 5 stars for a great product.
I am becoming HTC "fanboy" :)

Rated 4 out of 5Â by LittleJerryS Overall satisfied with my Windows Purchase
I was overall pleased with my recent Smartphone purchase. Here are some cons and pro i myself thought of after using this phone
- Very fairly priced, not too expensive or too cheap
- Camera is slightly above average at 5mgp
- Appeal is great, very sleek look, fits nicely in the palm
- screen dimension are sizeable, and display is great
- Facebook sync into contacts is a very neat feature
- Beats audio is amazing, i would honestly recomend this
phone solely for its beats audio, very crisp clear sound
- Proccesor is very good, about average
- The micro SD card feature is very useful, i am able to store up to 16gb more data becasue of it
- Battery life could be a little longer, i always find the need to recharge this phone
- The xbox application and games store is slightly limited
- Without the micro SD card the phone is slightly lacking in terms of storage. Without the MIcro SD, i would only be able to download a few good application, games, and some music
- Some of the apps and games are greatly overprice ( my opinion)

Rated 2 out of 5Â by PythonesqueSpam Wot! No more apps
I've had HTC phones for years, with my last phone being a HTC HD7 and the one before that being a HTC HD2. I bought the HTC 8S knowing that it only had a rear facing camera, no compass and only 4gb of internal memory. With an Micro SD Card I can increase the phone memory by an extra 32Gb right... WRONG. The Micro SD Card can only be used for putting music onto the phone and little else. The 4Gb fills up very quickly with apps (say 5 or 6 if you are lucky) and for any OS updates you have to remove apps. You can't install apps or their data to the Micro SD Card so you are stuck with a measly 4Gb. Windows 8 is certainly not getting the best out of this phone, which to be fair is Microsoft's fault. The Camera is average and gets streaky if you are not absolutely steady when it snaps. The GUI is a little laggy especially on opening the Music app and have a lot of music on the phone, where you have to wait a minute or two. I've had occasional reboots once of twice a week but other than that Windows 8 seems resonably stable. The phone is disappointing and certainly not up to the high standards of the previous HTC phones I've owned. Would I recommend this phone? Only if you can't afford the buy anything else... and use the phone just to make calls and little else. Would I buy another HTC phone with Windows on it... a definite NO!!!
