Rated 5 out of 5 The New Standard For Smartphones When i firts heard about this phone i thot its was going to be an okay phone with decent spects but when i finally held it i realized that this is what a smartphone is supost to be like! slim without being akward to hold, a nice screen without being to big and an awsome fast and slick user interface with second to none speed and performance this should be what other manufactures should emulate as we go futher in 2012. awsome phone i recomend to anyone that has T-Mobile and if you live in the bay are like me im getting 19 mbts downloads OMG oh the the battery is great so far and im a really heavy user so we will see how its like over time. Rated 4 out of 5 by Don't use a Nokia charger! I love my new One S - mostly. Downsides: The facebook integration seems a bit flakey - I had to delete all my contacts one-by-one and re-add them in order to link them to their FB profiles (the sync option didn't di its stuff). Seesmic keeps telling me my FB profile isn't authorised, so I've given up trying to use FB on there. A bit miffed to discover the charging fitting is no longer mini USB - so my old Hero charging cables are rendered useless (I have 3 - home, car, work). But I have an old Nokia 6500 which has the same fitting as the One - bonus I thought (you can never have enough charge points for your phone). However it took me a few days to notice that whenever I charged my One one my Nokia charger - it would LOSE 1 minute every hour. Several mornings I awoke 8 minutes late, which is precious time when you have a bus to catch... Now I stick to my new HTC charger, it keeps perfect time (+/- 4 seconds). On the plus points though - it feels so much smaller than my old Hero - in spite of being a fair bit larger, thanks to its reduced weight and ultra slimness. I like the way it's so much easier to swtch between apps. I like the way the browser remembers which pages you had open. I like the way you can take photos without having to unlock the screen. I like the fact it's got Talk on there - so I can chat on gmail anywhere I am. I've only had it a couple of weeks, so there's still loads more that I'm going to like about it! May 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by HTC One is the One The One S is full of exciting and entertaining features, slick and sharp in your pocket with a great camera. However a daily charge is a must if you are a heavy user. Web browsing is faster then expected and the sound quality is great. A perfect phone for entertainment. May 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by High-end phone with few flaws My last Phone is more than 5 years old, so first using a smartphone of this caliber was a huge leap for me. However, I haven't been disappointed by this product. One of the reasons I didn't get a One X is the fact that 4,3" is close to the perfect size for a screen (at least for me). Any larger and it would influence the handling in a negative way. The overall design and manufacturing is of very high quality and has a very robust feeling to it (Al-Unibody). After starting, the screen gives off very vibrant and lively colours. Everything works fast and stable, the processing power is more than enough for anything you could ever need right now. It holds many features, which are useful and entertaining. The camera has very little competition among the smartphone market. Of course, compared to a real camera, there are many difficulties getting a clear image in bad or changing light conditions, but this one has been fit into a ~8mm case, so there's ne wonder it doesn't perform as good. There are still several things that keep bugging me: - There is no way to expand the phones storage. I really hope manufacturers will break with this bad habit in the nearest time possible. - Regarding the fact that this is one of the latest models and should have the best energy-saving equipment (plus the high price as well), battery life is rather low. - Non-interchangable battery. If used for a few years, the battery, which is already lacking capacity, will give you some trouble. - The cover of the SIM card slot doesn't hold up to the exteriors high quality. - As nice as the colours are, the resolution is not high enough to cover up for the pentile matrix flaws (red and green edges near each pixel). These are all that come to mind. Other than them, there's nothing I missed while using this phone. May 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by One worth giving a S about Moving from a Desire HD (my back up now!) I was expecting a small leap, I could not have been more wrong. The size, although similar to the HD is easy to hold. The weight is perfect, holding my old flame (HD) feels like picking up a bus in comparison. The design is sleek and screams premium, the looks it gets from strangers is that of awe. Having let a few friends use it they cannot get over the speed and design of the S. The screen is gorgeous and just screams beauty, it does not have the SLCD 2 of the X but it more than holds its ground. I have been getting well over a days use with the battery which is fantastic, the only downer is fact it is non-removable which is a shame. The browsing experience is super fast, all websites I use render perfectly and it copes well with all the data on screen. The games I have played have been silky smooth thus far. After falling in love with the Desire HD I felt bad casting her aside in favour of the new girl but in this case I think she would understand. A 5* phone for me, the best I have had the pleasure of owning. Pros: Design Weight Speed UI (Sense is a pleasure) Cons: Non removable battery No SD Card support May 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best from HTC & new industry standard I live in the US, but brought a ONE S back from London (use it on AT&T's HSPA+ network). I DO NOT like US carrier branded phones - they change the design and load it with carrier specific "bloatware". This ONE S is how HTC intended it. Anyway, the phone is truly amazing. Both the design and specs are class leading. The 4.3 inch screen is the perfect size and the 1.5 dual core processor is a powerhouse. Sense 4.0 is awesome. I never had a problem with previous versions of sense, but this newest version is very clean and I really like the new clock widget. Makes the older one look kind of blocky and old. The performance, whether browsing the web, playing games, watching videos or just making a phone call is first class. Never had a hiccup or stutter. The battery life is excellent as well. Much better than the average Android device. FInally, the physical design is amazing. Puts the iPhone 4/4S to shame. The unibody aluminum feels great and the phone is shockingly thin. Hard to believe so much power fits into such a thin profile. I got the black, micro-arc oxidation model and it looks & feels amazing. HTC is back and in a HUGE way! May 9, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sexy and powerful, but experiencing signal issues. I am experiencing signal issues where the signal would drop constantly in 2G/4G areas I normally have full bars with my HTC G2. It's a shame that this is one annoying thing that hinders an otherwise high quality, attractive and powerful phone. Others are experiencing the same signal issues like me so it's not isolated. I have two days left to return the phone so I'm debating whether to return it and pay the $50 return fee or keep it and see if a software update will fix it. Either way it really bums me out because I love this phone. May 11, 2012
