Rated 4 out of 5 Great but connectivity issues need urgent fix
Loving my new HTC One S. Decided to upgrade to this from the Desire I had previously (which is also a great handset!) The One S is a great size, easy to use, love the new features BUT it drops the WiFi connection A LOT and only re-connects if you switch Wifi on and off a few times. Also having problems connecting to any Bluetooth device that isn't my old HTC Desire. :( Please fix these soon!! then it really will be the ultimate handset.

The best phone I've used so far, I just upgraded from LGG2X ane I thought that was an ok phone. This one blows me away, it's amazingly fast, beautiful thin design. I highly recommend it, after looking at HTC One S and Samsung ll it was an easy choice

Rated 5 out of 5 The New Standard For Smartphones
When i firts heard about this phone i thot its was going to be an okay phone with decent spects but when i finally held it i realized that this is what a smartphone is supost to be like! slim without being akward to hold, a nice screen without being to big and an awsome fast and slick user interface with second to none speed and performance this should be what other manufactures should emulate as we go futher in 2012. awsome phone i recomend to anyone that has T-Mobile and if you live in the bay are like me im getting 19 mbts downloads OMG oh the the battery is great so far and im a really heavy user so we will see how its like over time.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by madasaboxoffrogs Don't use a Nokia charger!
I love my new One S - mostly.
The facebook integration seems a bit flakey - I had to delete all my contacts one-by-one and re-add them in order to link them to their FB profiles (the sync option didn't di its stuff). Seesmic keeps telling me my FB profile isn't authorised, so I've given up trying to use FB on there.
A bit miffed to discover the charging fitting is no longer mini USB - so my old Hero charging cables are rendered useless (I have 3 - home, car, work). But I have an old Nokia 6500 which has the same fitting as the One - bonus I thought (you can never have enough charge points for your phone).
However it took me a few days to notice that whenever I charged my One one my Nokia charger - it would LOSE 1 minute every hour. Several mornings I awoke 8 minutes late, which is precious time when you have a bus to catch... Now I stick to my new HTC charger, it keeps perfect time (+/- 4 seconds).
On the plus points though - it feels so much smaller than my old Hero - in spite of being a fair bit larger, thanks to its reduced weight and ultra slimness. I like the way it's so much easier to swtch between apps. I like the way the browser remembers which pages you had open. I like the way you can take photos without having to unlock the screen. I like the fact it's got Talk on there - so I can chat on gmail anywhere I am. I've only had it a couple of weeks, so there's still loads more that I'm going to like about it!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by franky Pretty good phone. love it.
The HTC one to me is an overall great phone. I love just about everything this phone is capable of doing. The only two things that I don't like about it is 1. It's battery life could be a little better. 2. There is no way to expand the memory from its 11 gb useable. You would think a company that introduces a program like beats audio in a phone for music lovers would have a key feature like this. My hope is that HTC reinvents this phone with that in mind. And soon.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Juan High-end phone with few flaws
My last Phone is more than 5 years old, so first using a smartphone of this caliber was a huge leap for me. However, I haven't been disappointed by this product.
One of the reasons I didn't get a One X is the fact that 4,3" is close to the perfect size for a screen (at least for me). Any larger and it would influence the handling in a negative way.
The overall design and manufacturing is of very high quality and has a very robust feeling to it (Al-Unibody). After starting, the screen gives off very vibrant and lively colours. Everything works fast and stable, the processing power is more than enough for anything you could ever need right now. It holds many features, which are useful and entertaining.
The camera has very little competition among the smartphone market. Of course, compared to a real camera, there are many difficulties getting a clear image in bad or changing light conditions, but this one has been fit into a ~8mm case, so there's ne wonder it doesn't perform as good.
There are still several things that keep bugging me:
- There is no way to expand the phones storage. I really hope manufacturers will break with this bad habit in the nearest time possible.
- Regarding the fact that this is one of the latest models and should have the best energy-saving equipment (plus the high price as well), battery life is rather low.
- Non-interchangable battery. If used for a few years, the battery, which is already lacking capacity, will give you some trouble.
- The cover of the SIM card slot doesn't hold up to the exteriors high quality.
- As nice as the colours are, the resolution is not high enough to cover up for the pentile matrix flaws (red and green edges near each pixel).
These are all that come to mind. Other than them, there's nothing I missed while using this phone.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Sexton One worth giving a S about
Moving from a Desire HD (my back up now!) I was expecting a small leap, I could not have been more wrong. The size, although similar to the HD is easy to hold. The weight is perfect, holding my old flame (HD) feels like picking up a bus in comparison.
The design is sleek and screams premium, the looks it gets from strangers is that of awe. Having let a few friends use it they cannot get over the speed and design of the S.
The screen is gorgeous and just screams beauty, it does not have the SLCD 2 of the X but it more than holds its ground. I have been getting well over a days use with the battery which is fantastic, the only downer is fact it is non-removable which is a shame.
The browsing experience is super fast, all websites I use render perfectly and it copes well with all the data on screen. The games I have played have been silky smooth thus far.
After falling in love with the Desire HD I felt bad casting her aside in favour of the new girl but in this case I think she would understand. A 5* phone for me, the best I have had the pleasure of owning.
UI (Sense is a pleasure)
Non removable battery
No SD Card support

Rated 4 out of 5Â by brokeninjeans Sexy and powerful, but experiencing signal issues.
I am experiencing signal issues where the signal would drop constantly in 2G/4G areas I normally have full bars with my HTC G2. It's a shame that this is one annoying thing that hinders an otherwise high quality, attractive and powerful phone. Others are experiencing the same signal issues like me so it's not isolated. I have two days left to return the phone so I'm debating whether to return it and pay the $50 return fee or keep it and see if a software update will fix it. Either way it really bums me out because I love this phone.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by jogl Can't recommend this phone enough!
I came to the One S from an HTC Legend as I love the HTC experience and have been 100% impressed with choosing this over an iphone 4s. It's amazingly responsive and the battery life is amazing.
My ONLY criticism is - PLEASE HTC, ALLOW US TO REMOVE THE BLOATWARE!!! It's like buying a Dell laptop.

I initially bought this phone to replace my Iphone 3g, and it was not a bad choice. Everything is better, and quicker! The only thing i am annoyed about is the fact that there is no apparent way to easily sync my music from my mac onto the One S. This is very annoying and i hope it gets ficked soon!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Flip amazing hardware BUT,...
I absolutely love this phone! It really feels amazing while lying in your hands, it's not too big but still has a big enough screen (whoever says that 3,5 are enough never used an bigger screen for real or long enough). The build quality is great, although my simcarddoor is a little bit loose although I only opened it one time!
As I've got the black version I'm also affected by the problem that the black is coming off on the top of the phone but I'm going to send it in & hope that HTC does what it promises.
& there we come to the even bigger BUT: The Source Code STILL ISN'T AVAILABLE although the phone was released over a month ago. As I don't like Sense4 too much & just want a clean Android 4.0 Build (or even better CM9 or AOKP) running on this great device of hardware this is a must HTC. I would also prefer if you could choose in the future if you want to install an update which removes Sense & gives you the real Android feeling. This should only be an OPTION one could tick perhaps on the reworked website where you can localize & lock your phone (a little bit like the unlocking of the bootloader). and of course: UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER ISNT EVERYTHING HTC, some users out there want S-OFF! Please provide it. (this is one of the reasons why Samsung is so successful with its Galaxy devices!)
Thanks in advance, a customer that really loves this peace of Hardware but wants more on the Softwaresite...

Rated 5 out of 5Â by VladUK Amazing!
I'm the owner of this beautifully crafted mobile phone, quality of built is really stunning, screen is absolutely amazing to look at as everything is so sharp ( size of a screen is 4.3" with 540 x 960 resolution, much better than my Samsung Galaxy SII ) fast user interface and new Sence 4.0 is a real treat combined with latest Android 4.0.3. Plenty of useful app flashlight, notes, pdf viewer, Polaris office etc...
Best thing about is rich, clean sound when listening your favorite music, I don't own Dr Dre headphones but my Sony ones are more than enough to enjoy too.
One negative thing about this device is that comes with limited memory in this case 16GB ( you end up only with 9GB ) but still enough to store your favorite music, videos etc. Another thing is that also comes with not user replaceable battery, but I hope that is not a problem as I am sure it will last minimum 2 years or more.
Fast internet browsing, very easy to type your text messages and emails, call quality very very good..."one amazing mobile phone" is the last thing I should say about it!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by iMoliere Excellent phone!!! However the battey is once again HTC fail with the battery life...
I have been s fan of HTC for s long time... Since before the first iPhone. I have had some HTC phones that delivered beyond expectation. There seems to always be one problem, battery life. With this new marvel, HTC One S, I could not think of a phone I would want more (except for maybe the One X.) I would recommend that phone to anyone willing to have a car charger or carry a wall charger regularly. As for me I am hoping that Mophie will come out with a cover battery soon for this alsmost perfect phone ..

This phone is the best phone on the market, the design and speeds of this beast speaks for itself. This is the device customers been waiting for. I use this more than my laptop, thats how fast it is. This phone has the best camera than any other smart phone on the market, even that weak apple phone. This the phone thats going to sweep the competition this hands down.

It usually takes me a month or so to warm up to new phones, but I warmed up to this one within a couple of hours. It's battery life is really really good. Idk what that other reviewer is talking about because I'm an pretty heavy user. About a few hundred text messages a day, always use it to plug into my car stereo for music when I drive, and couple of hours of phone calls and battery is still at about 65% by the end of the day. Maybe you have a defective battery, but this is the best battery life I've ever had on a smart phone. Very very VERY impressed..

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BlairG nice job HTC!
I started on Android with the HTC G1 years ago and I'm a happy HTC customer once again with the One S ! This phone is thin, light and feels great in your hand but still feels solid and not cheap. The camera is absolutely amazing! Being able to record in full 1080 HD is great and at the same time a recording being able to simultaneously take still photos is just perfect.
I definitely would recommend this phone to anyone wanting a high end phone with android .I love this phone!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by fredintheshed htc one s has memory issue!
all in all its a relay good phone
its too thin for me and slips out of my grip in a instant!
ive had to fit the htc hard shell to get some grip
what spoils it is its filled with junk apps that you cant remove!
this makes me want to get a generic product thats not got the carrier rubbish as hand luggage!
its big big big down fall however is its lack of memory!
its sold as a 16gb version but by the time you get past the preloaded junk and shared memory your lucky to get 9gb! i was using a 16gb card in my old desire (long rest its soul!)
and as there is no sd slot you cant expand.
so that along with to many hat tips to the iphone has spoilt this product for me!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by JohnNash Stay away from HTC it seems it sells garbage hardware
I had bought a HTC One S one month ago. It came with some nasty scratches on it... you know on the ceramic coating that should be similar to the Endeavour ceramic coating. I could luckily change it to a new one but on the new one the coating is so faint that it gets scratches just at contact with paper. Now the story is not stopping here. After just one month of normal use the screen is gone (flickering and just garbage displayed on screen). Now because it's more than 14 days since I've got it it has to be send to service. Stay away from htc it seems it sells garbage hardware - just my two cents.

Overall I think this phone is amazing. So far I've had it for almost 4 weeks. The face recognition to unlock the screen is impeccable. It's one of my favorite features and I recommend you take advantage of this feature. Makes you feel all high tech and what not. The camera is flawless. I can't take enough pictures. The battery life is great and overall the phone is unparalleled. The ONLY COMPLAINT I have is the speaker phone volume. Whether you place a call on speaker mode or you're watching a movie/video on the phone, you can hardly hear it. I turn the volume all the way up and it's still very low. I was very surprised. Compared to the Motorola cliq 2 which I had before, the HTC one s isn't as loud. It's clear and crisp but not loud.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by nixe What a nice equipment it is
I've been using my phone several days now. Before I had HTC Desire (modded to Cyanogenmod 7.1), so naturally comparing to it. One S have definetly better performance in all aspects. It's kinda good looking and nice to handle, but somehow it feels bit too long and flat. This could be just lack of experience. Camera is amazing, at the beginning it just tooks pic after pic, because you're pushing button too long :). Picture quality is also totally different, it's great. What comes to customizing, it gets some minuses. As mentioned, I've owned Desire with CyanogenMod. And that had almost everything customizable. But perhaps it's better this way, for most users it's enough (not for us nerds). One feature that HTC Sense is missing every time, is screen rotating in home screen and in drawer, I just can't understand why this is disabled completely (really missing that feature from CM).

I bought this phone in April, and I love it. Yes, it doesn't have expandable memory, but I'm putting everything in the cloud, so what do I need with an SD card slot? Yes, the speaker sound isn't incredibly loud, but it sounds great when I plug it into my car and when I use headphones, so that works for me. There isn't a removable battery, but the battery compartment on my last phone broke and was never the same after I dropped it one time, so I'm actually kind of happy about it. The camera works really well for both pictures and videos, I've installed Chrome as a browser, which has been really fast on 4G. I like the look of it and I like the size of it, it's slim but it has a good-sized screen. I've been using this for over a month and I have no real complaints so far. I highly recommend this phone

I'm an avid phone person always wanting the new and better phone every time and almost stop when I bought my HTC Sensation. As soon as this phone was introduced I had to have it. When it came out I was first in line. This phone is awesome, thin, light, has 1G RAM, 16GB storage, beats audio, GHz, 4.3' screen (not a big screen person by the way...just right) and can't forget about the camera/video mode. I text a lot and phone calls but never had a drop call and battery life is very good for me. On occasion I use the navigation lol no I take that back actually almost everyday I use the navigation as well and I just can't find anything to complain about this phone. Quality of sound and video is so good so this is it for me....

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Robii22 Great Phone but Everything has Flaws...
Hola! So, I agree with most of the positives folks have listed... Super productive and great ease of use, great display, its fast, can handle multiple high energy required apps without your battery tanking, etc. This post is for those wanting to know the cons... of course from the perspective an average gal with a busy life. It will help know if the phone will still meet your needs even with the cons.
The phone didn't come in multiple colors when I bought it, I wanted white. The design is nice but super slippery, you will have to get a case... which solved my color issue but still have to buy more. I'm 4'11, on a good day, so the phone is a little wide for my small hands. Can't do the one hand texting thing. The phone does horrible in natural sunlight, it is very tough to see what you're snapping. I have perfect vision so, no, its not me, lol.
The phone doesn't easily switch between portrait and landscape all of the time. When it works, 90% of the time, its great... but when it doesn't its super frustrating. The placement of the camera button is not good. The combination of a wide, thin, slippery phone, with the button on the front, does not make good for taking pics with one hand so you can be in them. Or pics of you solo, when you need a flash, since the front facing doesn't have that. They really should consider a button on the side of the phone.
Last items, the phone gets really hot when working on several apps, even through the case. The keyboard is easy but I find I touch the wrong letters often, thank goodness for the spell ck! There is no external storage, ie, micro sd card. They do have a backup with a data storage site called Dropbox. I had heard of it before, so knew about it... just gotta take the extra step to get the free storage. Pretty cool how it automatically stores photos. Overall, I like the phone compared to my old G1 and Mytouch and would recommend it.
*sidenote: the phone randomly cuts off for 2-5 mins. Not sure if it is the phone updating software or if it is my T-mobile network??? I got the phone when it first came out and it has happened 3 times.
