Rated 5 out of 5Â by cbejin Best phone I ever had
The HTC One S is a powerful phone that many other will probably fail in trying to compare with it. HTC didn't miss (except the lack of N.F.C) this phone has great build quality, a very elegance design, a serious camera that ;eaves the world of phone and enter the world of stand-alone point-and-shoot camera, and speed that complete very well against my Laptop. Also that screen is amazing even with my glasses off I can read the text on the screen and watch video just fine. Battery life has also been improve from previous phones. I really doubt there any magic, that will make someone leave a phone like this. If you are getting this one a two-year contact it's a solid buy. Two thumbs up!

This phone is excellent choice with amazing features, a match to any other high end smart phone on the market. I simply love it. One sad thing is HTC will not update its Android version anymore but I hope they will show mercy and hopefully my HTC ONE S will get the latest Android as this excellent device deserves.

Recently upgraded from a HTC Hero G2, no regrets this phone is... fantastic. Trying to put it into words is hard but this phone will change your life, the first day I got it I couldn't get off it. Now it's just the perfect perk to have in my life, communication has never been on such a satisfying level for me.
I've always rated HTC over Apple. All my mates wanted me to get an iPhone but what's the point? Everyone has one and it's common for them to shatter. The HTC One S is special, it's a one of a kind phone. Congratulations HTC.

I have upgraded from a Desire and I have to say HTC and android/sense have come a long way!
Phone is a real pleasure to use so far, beautiful thin design, responsive and the battery life is great for a smart phone.
Yes an SD card slot would have been the icing on the cake... but I think I can live without it... just!
Treat yourself, I don't think you will look back - I won't be.

I've had a Desire and an Incredible S, this is another clear step forward.
Camera and screen are excellent, reception is markedly inproved as well. Everyone should have BeatsAudio!
Definately better than the best Samsung has to offer.

I have went from a htc smart, to a htc wildfire and now the htc one s and i can quite safely say, MONEY WELL SPENT! This phone is a breeze to use and the performance of sence 4 and ICS is absoloutley, well... i cannot think of any words to describe it. i have the black version and i have not experienced any problems with the mao coating, the overall design is stunning. the camera is by far the best i have ever used and i think everyone who owns this phone should applaud HTC for there great comeback from 2011, to offer the best phones out there :D

Rated 5 out of 5Â by MarkD HTC one S - one Amazing smartphone
The camera and video technology in this phone are simply stunning. The rapid fire just helps you get the right shot - and the images are so sharp. This is one of the best designed and best looking smart phones - very stylish, light and incredibly thin. I had a Desire before and was using a Nokia Lumia 800 but the One S has brought me back to HTC/Android.
My one advice if you are a previous HTC user make sure you delete your old version of the sync manager and download the latest version.

I got this phone after I upgraded form a htc explorer and let me tell you it is the best phone ever. I could not let go of it for 3 days. I was using it so much I am surprised that it is not broken.
Also I can not believe the camera, some times the picture is better than the real thing. As well as that the sound system is the best I have ever heard out of a phone.

Now before I start, I have to say the battery is a bit of a let down. Went 5 hours before it died but apart from that it's a brilliant phone. The design is gorgeous expect it's quite slippery but a case off amazon fixed that straight away. The sound quality is amazing, the apps are brilliant and so easy to download and uninstall and communication with my friends and family is so easy. I've never been a fan of touch screens but BlackBerrys kept letting me down so upgraded to this. What a brilliant decision and investment. If you're considering a new phone, go for an HTC! Blackberrys and iPhones are so overrated and I've had both. This phone has changed my life.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by TerryUrbanizle HTC One S - S for Stunning.
The One S is a fantastic phone, I went for it because the battery life is much better than the One X (according to review sites) and I had the original HTC Desire so I loved HTC Sense and was used to HTC. I did contemplate the S3 but I'm glad I didn't get it.
I would say that the only downside to the phone is that there is no dedicated camera button on the side, or, there is not the option to tap the screen to take a picture - which was a great feature on the HTC Desire.
However with that aside, the One S is One Stunning phone, a phone that is not to be left on the shop/or website shelve.

I absolutely love my new phone not found one fault yet! The camera is amazing and there are so many cool and handy features it is just the best, I am the proud owner of an ipad2 and so I did not want to gt an iPhone as I think it would be like just getting a smaller version of my iPad , as someone who owns htc and apple products I would say that if you don't want an iPhone but you want something that can do everything the htc one s is for you! The htc one x looks good also, but if you want a slimmer prettier(slightly more feminine?) phone that still does everything you need and more then I'd recommend the htc one s

Rated 5 out of 5Â by NeoSSX Great phone!!! There's no denying it!!!
Let's start from the outside. The phone is less than 8mm thick, making the phone feel very light and that is only the beginning. The screen is an AMOLED 4.3" screen which has it's advantages, allowing the screen to be brighter and use less energy than normal LED phones. The 8 Mega-pixel camera on the back of the phone takes sharp images and the colours that are captured are vibrant and realistic. Full 1080p Video recording is another feature which allows users to bring video to life and allows everything to be clear. There is also a front-facing camera (0.3MP) is a great addition to this phone as it allows to you to unlock your phone with your face!!! (More on that later) The speaker on the back of the phone is the last thing to talk about in terms of what there is on the outside. The sound that comes out of the speaker isn't the loudest, but the sound is clear, and to me that is more important.
Now let's talk about the actual phone itself. The phone has a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Processor clocked at 1.5GHz and I have to be honest, it is fast! It will basically do everything you want it to do in a matter of seconds. The dedicated Adreno 225 GPU provides great graphics , which allows users to play many top title games such as Asphalt 6 and NFS Hot Pursuit without a problem. The phones has 1GB RAM (which is more than enough to open up the apps that you ever want to open) and 16GB of Storage which may not be enough for everyone's needs, but 25GB of extra online storage via Dropbox should be enough to fulfill the majority of people. The phone unfortunately doesn't have a MicroSD Card slot, and also uses a Micro SIM, but that issue can easily be resolved.
The phone runs on HTC Sence 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) which brings along many improvements in terms of performance and features. One of the main features that Android 4.0 brings is Face Unlock, which allows users to unlock their phones... by simply allowing the phone to take a look at your face. (It should unlock if it recognises you, but you can easily make yourself more 'recognisable' by improving face matching) The user interface is smoother than every phone I've had before and the display is the best I've ever had on a phone as well. The display (Resolution of 960*540) doesn't disappoint when you're watching videos or playing games. I personally think that everything is crystal clear, but as phones start to have bigger screens, there will be the need for pixel density to increase. The phone also has features that you would expect of most phones today e.g. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS etc.
Lastly, I'm going to talk about the sound/music side of the phone. Why? Because it has 'Beats Audio' and what I expect is that this means great sound quality. If you're going to ask what 'Beats Audio' is in the phone, I can tell you that it's just a sound enhancer which can only be used when you've got earphones or headphones connected. The sound enhancer actually does a very good job and serves it's purpose very well, making music more lively, bass deeper and voices more clearer.
I'll have to be honest now, I love this phone. It has many great features that only certain phones have, and it's a phone that has the looks. I would recommend this phone to anybody who is looking for a new phone, but doesn't want to go all out to get the best of the best, because I think that this is the best that anybody needs.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by SamS Some niggles
Listen, I love HTC phones, but there are two problems for me.
The battery cannot be removed, it is stuck where it is, this can only lead to problems, as so many issues with my HTC Wildfire are resolved by simply removing the battery.
The second is that there is no MicroSD card slot.

Now had the phone just over a week, All i can say is what a phone fast , smooth and good looking. It can do everything you want and more. The battery life is not great but as good as my old Sony. Also the loud speaker could be louder, but i think this can be said for all HTC's . Overall for my first HTC i have to say i am very imprest. As for build quality you wont fined better.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Alan1971 HTC One is Number One!
The screen is vividly bright and the super AMOLED display is perfectly visible when outdoors. The resolution is great and text, images and video are crystal clear.
Sense 4.0 and Android 4 work together really well. HTC have toned down Sense where needed and streamlined things to make it more intuitive. If you are already familiar with Android you won't be scratching your head trying to figure things out.
Although you will get the perk of finding little useful nuggets along the way too.
Face unlock is a bit gimmicky but does work and work well. I love the Swype option for the keyboard. Other people have commented that it is harder to type accurately (and quickly) on this phone and I agree. The layout is slightly different to earlier models and the keys are certainly closer together in normal 'portrait' mode, so mis-typing is common. But trust me, select the Swype option and be amazed. You don't have to be that accurate and 49 times out of 50 you will get the word you wanted. Typing speed therefore increases ten-fold. Brilliant!
The camera is just awesome. You have a range of options - low light, HDR, panorama, portrait etc. And the image quality really does rival most compact digicams. You even have inbuilt editing to tinker with the photo's which is a godsend. Fantastic work on the camera side HTC.
Beats Audio gives all the music/audio some nice bass and a much fuller sound to the music. Listening on headphones you have quality that in my opinion is better than my ipod. The stock music player is okay allowing multiple playlists and various options and even lets you download the album art if you require.
The oleophobic coating on the screen is a big bonus. My previous HTC Desire used to drive me to distraction with fingerprints and smudges and I was forever buffing the screen each time I touched it. The One S doesn't have that problem, sure you still do get marks and smudges but they are less apparent, easier to wipe away and don't affect viewing of the screen to any degree.
I feel that the phone pretty much has addressed many of the things I would have wanted to be included on a new phone. The old favourites have remained like the animated weather. I would have perhaps liked to see a micro-SD card slot. Yes you do get 25GB of dropbox storage (after you jump through a few hoops) which is good but 16GB onboard (9.5GB actually free) is a little measly. Even having another 32GB model on sale would have been something?
A few people have complained about chipping. I do have the black MAO (micro-arc oxidation) model and thankfully have not noticed any chipping yet although I have been handling it like a newborn baby! There are tiny scuffs appearing around the usb charging slot though as it's a tight fit to get in and out so these might worsen over time. I do like the premium feel of the phone though, it feels solid and well-built in the hand and you can see the thought that has gone into the design. There are beautiful curves and chamfers making this a very attractive piece of kit. Wonderfully thin too - just think of practically any other smartphone on a strict diet!
All in all an excellent phone and highly recommended. Well done HTC.

I love my HTC One S. Its pretty light and SO easy to use,the camera is fantastic,I can take pics of my Shi Tzu puppy and my 18 month old grandson without any problems at all.
If I have got a complaint (and its more of a moan really) its that its just too big for me,I had the Wildfire S before and as I have only got little hands it was fantastic. But I can't use this phone 1 handed. But that aside its great,if you are thinking of getting 1,just do it,its brilliant.

I have had this phone a few weeks now and I have to say it is unbelievably good, it has speed power and style I have a 2 year contract but when that ends I will carry on using this phone because its that good the best phone I have had since the Nokia 3310i the only niggle I have with it is the battery life that could be better but when your using apps all day and browsing the internet allot you would expect it to drain the battery life.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by newbee Very impressive multimedia device that comes with a phone
This is the first true smart phone I've owned and I'm pretty amazed at its range of talents. All the things it comes with: camera, video, music player, internet access, email, satnav are slick / fast to operate and function extremely well. The screen clarity is first rate, photos look great, video runs smoothly and the sound quality is extremely good (and I'm fussy when it comes to audio).
Did I say it also happens to be a phone with better reception and call clarity than my previous samsung, what a bonus! I'm about three weeks into the experience and typically the battery lasts a full two days between charges having used pretty much all of the above at some point in the 48hour period.
My only concern is this device can get pretty hot when worked hard. I guess it doesn't come with a lovely alloy shell for just decoration but as a massive heat sink for that 1.5ghz dual core processor. Its not so hot you can't hold it but enough to make you want to get a case for it and soon. Overall I think this is a great bit of tech that I'd be loathed to part with. It does so much and then some (when you find time to trawl the apps store).

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bora Simply Amazing
The One X costed too much and wasn't an option. My previous phone was an HTC Wildfire that eventually got an official FroYo update and then Gingerbread and ICS through the developer community. Unfortunately it was a budget phone, so it was not very fast - but this also meant the battery lasted extremely long - sometimes even three days on one charge! The performance on this is excellent and has not compromised as much battery life as I expected. But it would have been even better if a removable battery was included, which is why I gave four stars instead of five. The HTC ImageSense camera is also quick and takes pictures and video of very high quality. I am just hoping HTC continue to release future Android and Sense updates such as 4.1 Jellybean for this excellent device! (Even for branded phones, like T-Mobile UK)
