Rated 5 out of 5Â by Angelico Slick phone
I moved from Nokia E71 to HTC Desire 500. Overall it's great phone, however I miss some of the Nokia's E71 business features and ease of use. Adding tasks, events, adjusting event time, setting up alarms takes too much time compared to my old nokia. These need to be real quick and take less than 10 sec. to setup.
Yet, this is an affordable solution, great in performance and overall feel.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Siko Good Design with poor features
The device does not have a Compass, which became a basic feature in all Smart phones, do not know why they did not add it.
The home screen enforces you to add some applications , News, feeds, and if you did not choose, it will remain as a free blue box, not good.
its max volume is not very loud.
The Device is good, but those 3 things are not good.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by adrisala Excellent smartphone for an excellent price
Before this phone I owned an iPhone 3G, nice phone, but an oldie. I started looking for great phones with a nice quality/pricing ratio, and I looked to this phone, and saw that it had a quad-core and 1gb ram, the only thing that I needed. The camera of this phone is excellent, 8MP that are nicely used. After 2 weeks of use, i'm in love with this, and I really recommend it to anyone that wants a nice phone. Of course it cannot be compared to HTC One, LG G2 or other higher caliber phones, but this is a really nice medium-high phone.
I don't recommend it if you are only going to play games, if you want to play games buy yourself a PS Vita or a PSP, but this isn't really a good phone for games like Real Racing, FIFA or GTA Vice City, those games are really laggy on here, but for other simple games you can run them extra fluidly, even the PSOne app thingy runs really fluidly.
The earphones are really great, but only at full volume, and the speaker is in a position that can be covered with your hand with ease, thing that complicates the use of the speaker, but I don't use usually the speakers, because you never use them in public, and they're really powerful -you can hear them perfectly from a distance of +20m at least at my house.
The battery is nice, but I recommend not to have it always connected, because if you do, the battery can lose life quickly.
The screen is perfect, i've seen a lot of chapters of series (Breaking Bad ahaha) and some youtube videos and you can watch them in HQ, running fluidly.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SpiderWeb Excellent phone
As a previous owner of HTC, I must say that this phone is great. What's noticeable most about this phone is its responsiveness, something that lacked on my Hero and my Galaxy after installing many apps and system updates. I also love the HTC Sense, especially the BlinkFeed, because I'm more of a social sharing freak, and this is just about the right widget for me.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by fantom Great upgrade of desire :)
1. smartphone was HTC Legend /stil working by my son/ ,
2. was HTC Desire.
I buy HTC Desire 500 Dual Sim for my second son but it was "too big" for him, so he decide to use my old Desire.
I must say it was great phone.
Fast, stable and with impressive battery life, comparing with older one. Obviously, camera was redesigned and finally I can take great and sharp pictures/movies in low-light condition. Great improvement.
Only thing which was odd is position of volume buttons. It is more for left-handed people, and because of that, several times I almost dropped it.
All in all, 5 stars phone. Well-done HTC
