You can access your email accounts right from your phone. Your phone contains the settings for many popular email providers, so setting up an email account can be as simple as entering your email address and password.

To set up common email accounts such as Gmail/Google Mail or Yahoo!:

  1. On the Home screen, slide to the Mail tab.
  2. If this is your first time to set up an email account on your phone, tap New Account. Otherwise, tap Menu > New Account.
  3. On the subsequent screen, select an email provider (for example, Yahoo!). If your email provider is not listed, tap Other.
  4. Enter your email address (for example, myname@yahoo.com) and your password.
  5. Tap Next.
  6. Enter your name and the account name you want to appear on your phone (for example, Personal mail).
  7. Tap Next.
If the account type you want to set up isn't already in your phone's database, you'll be asked to enter a few more details. Have your incoming/outgoing server information ready, to save time. Your email provider can tell you this information if you don't already know it.
  8. Choose how often you want your phone to automatically send and receive email.
  9. Tap Done.

If you have a Hotmail or Live.com email account, the setup procedure is a little different. For instructions, see Setting Up Windows Live Hotmail On Your Phone.

You can also set up an account provided by an Internet service provider such as your home Internet provider. For this, you will need to enter a little more information. For instructions, see Setting Up an ISP Email Account.
