The software upgrade posted below provides enhanced performance and stability of your device.

Please read the following important notes before starting the upgrade:
How can I check to see if the upgrade available is a newer version of software than what is currently in my device?
- Go to “start”
- Select “settings”
- Go to “System” tab
- Select “Device Information” which should display a screen like the one shown.
If the ROM version and Radio versions are different than what is shown or the ROM date is older, you should consider upgrading.

Before you upgrade make sure you check and do the following first:
Procedure to upgrade your device software
Upgrading your device requires that you follow the steps outlined below. To help you with the upgrade process click here for the upgrade guide.
Step 1: Back up Personal Data from your device
If there is information on your device that you would like to retain, you will need to create a backup copy on your desktop PC prior to installing the new software on your device. If you do not backup your information you will permanently delete all of your personal info including but not limited to: settings, files, contacts, calendar, emails, ringtones, pictures/videos, and 3rd party applications.
Step 2: Upgrade Software on your Device
Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure you check and do the following first:
- USB cable that came with your smartphone is connected to computer.
- Stand-by and hibernation modes are disabled on the computer (see instructions above).
- All applications on the computer have been closed.
- USB cable that is plugged into your cable is also plugged into your smartphone and you have established an ActiveSync connection with the computer.
- Do not interact with your smartphone unless instructed to do so.
You are now ready to launch the ROM Update Utility (RUU) to upgrade your mobile device
Step 3: Restore Personal Data on your device
After you have completed the software upgrade you will need to run this final step to restore your personal data on your device.

WARNING: During the upgrade process, do not attempt to make/receive calls, press any buttons on your device or disconnect the device from the USB cable as this will stop the update and your device will be rendered inoperable!!!

WARNING: Users should not attempt to load an older version of Touch ROM software after loading version 1.08.573.2. Please delete any earlier versions of the Touch ROM software you may have downloaded previously to your PC.
