NOTE:  If the device is not running the latest software version 2.00.651.7, please download and install the latest ROM from this page.
 
How to copy the hotfix to the device
 

1. Download the hotfix below and save it to the desktop of your PC
2. Verify you have installed and configured the Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) software
3. Place the Touch Diamond in Airplane Mode by navigating to Start > Programs > Comm Manager and tapping on Airplane Mode
4. Connect the Touch Diamond to your PC using the supplied USB cable
5. In Activesync, tap on Explore to bring up the File Explorer window.  For WMDC, tap on File Management then Browse the contents of your device.
6. If using WMDC, double click on the device memory folder that appears in the File Explorer screen.  This is usually depicted by a backslash icon.  Next, double click on My Documents.
7. Drag and drop the hotfix file from your Desktop to the File Explorer window

 
How to install the hotfix on the device
 

1. On the device, tap Start > Programs > File Explorer
2. Locate the hotfix file and single tap on it to install
3. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the hotfix
4. Reboot the device per on-screen instructions to finalize installation
5. After the device reboots, take the device out of Airplane Mode by navigating to Start > Programs > Comm Manager and tapping on Airplane Mode

 
NOTES ON THIS HOTFIX   
 

• This hotfix will need to be reinstalled if the device is hard reset.  Also, the hotfix cannot be installed again until the device is hard reset.
• If any software was installed to bypass the MCTS functionality of the device, the device may need to be hard reset prior to this hotfix being installed.

Why update the ROM on your device? 
The software upgrade posted below provides several key enhancements for your Touch Diamond™:

	Provides enhancements to the HTC dialer application
	Resolves an issue where the “Internal Storage” drive may not be recognized by the device
	Includes minor enhancements for Sprint TV and Opera Browser
	Resolves an issue with time not updating correctly after daylight savings time adjustment
	Includes a variety of minor bug fixes

 Installation Instructions

Please read the following important notes before starting the upgrade:  Before you proceed, please confirm that this software upgrade is a newer version than what is currently loaded on your device. If it is the same version and your device is operating normally, there is no need to reload the software. To determine what version is running on your device, refer to the image on the left (the newest version is pictured) and note the ROM version and Radio version.  Next, go to Start > Settings > System Tab > Device Information on your device.  If your ROM and Radio versions are different than what is pictured at left or the ROM Date is older, you should upgrade.

Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure you check and do the following first: 

	If you are having challenges connecting with ActiveSync, please try the following on your device: Start > Settings > Connection Tab > USB to PC and de-select “enable faster data synchronization. “
	The standby and hibernation modes are disabled on the computer. Click here to view instructions on how to do this. If using a laptop, make sure your laptop is plugged into a power source.
	All running applications on the computer have been closed.
	Ensure that your device has a battery level of at least 50% (Start>Settings>System Tab>Power>Battery tab). If the battery "dies" during the upgrade process, there is a chance that it will not recover and will need to be sent for repairs.
	The update can take up to 25 minutes so set aside time when you will not be interrupted.
	All data will be deleted from the device during the upgrade (music, pictures, 3rd party applications, etc).  Be sure to back up all of your data using ActiveSync (Windows Mobile Device Center, if you are running Windows Vista) prior to upgrading. Click here to view detailed instructions on backing up your data using ActiveSync.
	Do Not interrupt the upgrade process or press any buttons until the process has been completed (the device will reset itself when the update is done).

General Procedure on Installing the ROM Update 

1.	Back up your personal data from the Mobile Device to your computer using ActiveSync (Windows Mobile Device Center, if you are running Windows Vista) if you want to ensure you dont lose any of your data. Click here to view detailed instructions on backing up your data using ActiveSync.
2.	On your computer, run the ROM Update Utility (RUU) to install the ROM update to your Mobile Device. Click here to view detailed instructions on installing the ROM update.
3.	Restore your personal data back to your Mobile Device using ActiveSync (Windows Mobile Device Center, if you are running Windows Vista). (Optional) Click here to view detailed instructions on restoring your data using ActiveSync.

WARNING: During the upgrade process, do not attempt to make/receive calls, press any buttons on your device or disconnect the device from the USB cable as this will stop the update and your device will be rendered inoperable!!!

WARNING: Users should not attempt to load an older version of Touch Diamond™ software after loading version 2.00.651.7. Please delete any earlier versions of the Touch Diamond™ software you may have downloaded previously to your PC.

1. Download the Internal Storage HotFix 1.0 file to your PC.
2. Connect your Sprint Touch Diamond to your PC via ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center.
3. Copy the Internal Storage HotFix file to your device using Explore (ActiveSync) or Manage Device > File Explorer (Windows Mobile Device Center).
4. Navigate to the Internal Storage HotFix file on your device and tap on it to run the application.
5. Tap Setup to install the HotFix
6. After installation is complete, tap OK to reboot your device.
7. Go to Start > Settings > System Tab > Clear Storage and execute the Repair and Format Internal Storage option using the Clear Storage utility.
   Note: Please be careful to select the Repair and Format Internal Storage option only. Selecting the Clear Storage option or Clear Storage and Format Internal Storage option will return your device back to factory settings.
8. You will see a message indicating your Internal Storage was successfully formatted and the device will reboot
