Move up and down between Home screen shortcuts
Press up and down on the Navigation Wheel

Cycle through options within each Home screen icon
Rotate Navigation Wheel or press it left or right

Access full selection of applications
Press the left Soft key (Start)

Return to Home screen from any other screen
Press the Home key or quickly press the End key

Switch between Default and Vibrate notification profiles
Press and hold the # key

Select Notifications from the Home screen, and then scroll to the unread message

Set Up Email more

Adding an E-mail Account
The Set Up E-mail application provides virtually unlimited access to your work and personal e-mail right on your device. Instantly access your E-mail from Microsoft® Exchange, AOL®, AIM®, Yahoo!®, Windows Live™, Gmail™, EarthLink®, Comcast®, and many more, including any POP3 or IMAP4 server.

1. Navigate to Message Center from the Home screen, and scroll left to Set Up E-Mail and then press Center Select key.
2. To add an e-mail account, select the desired account from the presented list, and then follow the instructions on the screen and provide your e-mail address and password. E-mail accounts like Comcast, EarthLink, Adelphia, etc. can be added by selecting "Other E-mail."
3. Select Finish to attempt synchronization with your mailbox. The last 3 days worth of e-mail will be downloaded to your device.
4. Once your account has been added, a new Inbox for this e-mail account can be found in the Message Center.
5. You can add a maximum of 6 e-mail accounts in addition to one Outlook account.

Outlook Setup Using ActiveSync
Synchronize your device directly with your Microsoft Exchange server. No need to connect with your computer, just follow the simple step-by-step instructions below. All you need is your Exchange login name, password, domain and mail server details.

1. Navigate to Message Center from the home screen, and scroll left to Set Up E-Mail and then press Center Select key.
2. Select Outlook®.
3. Select "Set up your device to sync with it."
4. Enter your server address. If required, check the box "This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection."
5. Enter your user name, password, and domain. Check the box to "Save Password."
6. Check the boxes of the items you want to sync. Select Finish.
7. Wait for ActiveSync to sync your data for all categories you chose.
8. Schedule your sync times easily by selecting Menu > Schedule.

General Tips more

Reboot (soft reset)
Press and hold the End/Power key or remove the battery

Charge the device
If battery is critically low, use AC adapter

Lock the device
Press and hold * key

Unlock the device
Press the left Soft key (Unlock) and then Home key

Turn Flight mode on/off
On the Home screen, scroll down to Settings, press the Center Select key and then select Phone

Adjust volume
Press the Volume Buttons on the left side of the phone while in a call

Stop running programs
On the Home screen, scroll down to Settings, and then select Manage Memory. In the Task Manager screen, select Menu > Stop All

View phone call logs
With myFaves minimized, press the Send key

Sync with PC
Install the Getting Started CD and follow instructions provided

Conserve battery life
Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® and/or direct push e-mail functions

Turn Wi-Fi on or off
On the Home screen, scroll down to Settings, press the Center Select key and then select Wi-Fi

Minimize myFavesSM
Select Start > myFaves > Display and then select Minimized

Note: When minimized, your myFaves will remain closed on the Home screen until you press the Center Select key.

Phone Features more

End call
Press End key

Call selected name or phone number
Enter the contact name or number using the keyboard. Use the Navigation Wheel to highlight the name and then press Center Select

Call a speed dial number
Press the Send key. Press Center Select to dial a different number

Call voice mail access number
Press and hold the assigned number key

Turn mute on/off during call
Press and hold the 1 key

Switch between speaker and earpiece
Select Mute/Unmute

Change volume during call
Press and hold the Send key during a call

Open phone
Press the Volume Buttons on the left side of the phone

Place call on hold
Select Menu > Hold

Typing more

Type words quickly
Use the slide-out keyboard

Scroll across list that appears when you type
Press Right or Left using the Navigation Wheel

Select a word from the predictive text list
Highlight the word, then press the Center Select key

Capitalize a letter
Highlight and press CAPS key

Type alternate character on a key
Press Alt key and select alternate symbol or character

Insert @ in an e-mail field
Press Turn on CAPS lock; Press the CAPS key twice (@)

Turn on CAP lock
Press the CAPS key twice

Turn off CAP lock
Press the CAPS key once

Change text entry method (xT9, ABC, etc)
Press and hold the * key while typing in order to get a list of different text entry methods
