I lost the CD that came with my device, where can I get a copy of ActiveSync? more
ActiveSync is a free download that can be found on the Microsoft website: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/ActiveSync/default.mspx
I want to sync my device with my Mac, am I able to use ActiveSync to do this? more

ActiveSync is NOT compatible with the Mac OS. While you are unable to use ActiveSync, there is third-party software that will allow you to sync with a Mac.

I am unable to load a third-party application on my device. What can I do? more
Verify with the software provider that the application is compatible with your device/operating system. Contact the software vendor for further assistance.
ActiveSync is not recognizing my device, what should I do? more

Be sure that you have not connected your device to your PC before you installed ActiveSync. If you did plug in your device before installing, uninstall ActiveSync and start the process over ensuring that you do not plug your device in until after ActiveSync has been installed.

Verify that your device is recognized by your PC in the Device Manager; if it is not, resolve that issue first. Unplug your device from the PC for a few seconds and then plug it back in. Perform a Soft reset on the device while it is plugged into the PC. On the device, go to Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC and check the “Enable advanced network functionality.”

How do I install ActiveSync? more
Insert the "Getting Started" CD that came with your device into your PC and follow the prompts.
When should I perform a Hard Reset? more
A Hard Reset should only be performed after all other troubleshooting has been exhausted. (WARNING! All your data will be deleted; it is recommended that you back up your data first before resetting your phone.)
What does a Hard Reset do and how is it performed? more

A Hard Reset restores the device to its default settings—the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on the device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile software and other pre-installed programs will remain.

Start > More > Accessories > Clear Storage.

Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the phone. The phone will restart after it has been reset.

How can I tell how much free memory I have left on my device? more

Check for available memory: Start > More > More > Task Manager > Menu > System Info.

How do I send an SMS from my device? more

Go to Start > Messaging > Text Messages > Menu > New > SMS.

  • Type in the 10-digit wireless number or go to Menu > Add Recipient to select from your phones contacts.
  • Compose message and select Send.

How do I send and MMS from my device? more

Start > Messaging > Text Messages > Menu > New > MMS.

  • Type in the 10 digit wireless number or go to Menu > Add Recipient to select from your phones contacts.

How do I access Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote? more

Start > More > More > More > Office Mobile. This will give you access to Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, and Word Mobile. Use the My Document to find the document and view/Edit.

How do I access Voice Commands? more

Start > More > More > Voice Command. Under the Voice Command menu change the Voice Button option to Record, and select Done. Press and hold the home key (looks like a house) and say a contacts name to call the contact.

How do I check the local traffic? more

Start > More > More > Live Search > Select City > Select Traffic.

How do I turn off xT9 so it does not auto spell my words? more

Press and hold the * button for 3 seconds and select ABC.

How do I access and use MSN Messenger on my device? more

MSN Messenger is set up on your device as a default. All you need to do is go to Start > More > More > More > Windows Live and sign in with your user ID and password.

Once signed in, just highlight the Buddy that you would like to chat with, hit the center navigation key type your message in the box that appears and then Send.

I can't get connected to my instant messenger, what is the problem? more
Verify that you are within data coverage.

Check Internet connectivity via Internet Explorer. If you are unable to connect, resolve that issue prior to continuing with any instant messenger application.

Verify that the service is not offline by signing into your messenger account from another device (PC). Ensure that you have the correct user ID and password.

Perform a Soft reset on the device by removing and replacing the battery.
What can I do to get optimal performance with my device? more
  1. Using the Task manager: The task manager should be used regularly to close out any programs that stay running in the background. Programs will need to close regularly to ensure that multiple unused programs are not running in the background. Start > More > More > Task Manager > Menu > Stop or Stop All
  2. Soft Reset: Power off the phone, then power it back on. If the device has becomes locked up, remove the battery and wait at least 20 seconds before replacing it and powering the handheld back on
  3. Remove third party applications: If the issue began after installing a third party application, remove the application and test the handheld to see if the issue returns. If the issue does not reoccur, reinstalling the software is not recommended. Consult the software manufacturer for further assistance. Start > More > File Explorer > Select the third party application > Menu > Edit > Delete
