From the Today Screen: Sense™ more

Switch between the different tabs of Sense™
Slide your finger across the face of the touch screen left-to-right or right-to-left, or tap and hold on the current tab at the bottom of the screen then drag your finger across the icons on the screen.

Return to the Home tab of Sense™
Press the Home Button once from any application.

Customize the Today screen, including the background image
Settings Tab > Menu > All Settings > Today.

Customize the Home tab’s background image
Access the Settings Tab in Sense™ and tap Personalize.

Open or select items
Tap on the icon using your finger.

Access the Notification screen
Tap anywhere on the Notification area next to the Start button at the top of the screen (data indicator, signal bars, speaker, battery, etc).

Messaging more

Access Messaging
Select the Mail or Messages Tab in Sense™.

Open selected message
Tap on the message.

Compose a new text messages
Select the Messages tab, select All Messages and tap the New Message icon in Text Messages.

Compose a new email message
Select the Email Tab, select Inbox > Menu > New.

Reply to a message
For email, open the message and then tap Menu > Reply. For SMS, open the message, enter text and tap Send.

Reply to All
For Email, from within the message select Reply All.

Forward a message
For Email, from within the message select Menu > Forward.

View text messages
Select the Messages tab in Sense™.

Switch between messages in Sense™
Quickly swipe your finger upwards or downwards on the message to flip through messages.

Switch between emails in Sense™
Quickly swipe your finger upwards or downwards on the e-mail to flip through e-mails.

Switch between email accounts in Sense™
Tap the account icon on the right side of the email screen.

Check spelling for emails
From within a new message tap Menu > Spell Check.

Check voice mail messages
Tap the New Voicemail icon from the Status bar on the Home screen or press and hold the 1 key on the Phone keypad.

Set the message priority for an email
While composing a new or replying to a message, tap Menu > Message Options and select the priority from the drop down menu.

Calendar & Contacts more

Access the Calendar
Tap the Calendar tab in Sense™.

Access addresses and phone numbers from Contacts
Select the People Tab and tap All People.

View or edit a calendar appointment
From the Calendar tab, tap the specific date and calendar entry, then Menu > Edit to modify it.

Add a new calendar entry
From the Calendar tab tap Menu > New Appointment.

Delete an appointment
From the Calendar tab, select the date, and then highlight the specific calendar entry and tap Menu > Delete.

Move between days
Tap the up and down arrows beside the date.

Add a picture or assign a ring tone to a New contact
Select the People Tab > All People. Tap Menu > New Contact > Choose to save it on either the SIM or in contacts and enter the contact information. Tap the picture icon in the top right corner to select a picture. For ringtones, tap the arrow next to none in the ringtone field and select the desired tone. Tap OK or Done to save.

Typing more

Access onscreen keyboard
While in a text entry field, tap the keyboard icon at bottom of screen.

Change the type of the onscreen keyboard being used
Tap the arrow icon next to the keyboard icon and select the desired keyboard.

Type a single uppercase letter
On either the onscreen or slide out keyboard, tap/press Shift/up arrow and then the corresponding key.

Type all uppercase letters using Swype keyboard
On the onscreen or slide out keyboard, tap and hold the Shift/up arrow key to enter CAPS mode. You can also press FN>Shift on the slide out keyboard to enter CAPS mode. Tap shift again to return to normal mode.

Type all uppercase letters using QWERTY keyboard
On the onscreen or slide out keyboard, tap Shift/up arrow twice to enter CAPS mode. You can also press FN>Shift on the slide out keyboard to enter CAPS mode. Tap shift again to return to normal mode.

Enter a number or a symbol using Swype keyboard
On the onscreen keyboard, tap the SYM button. On the slide out keyboard, press the FN button and the corresponding key.

Enter a number or a symbol using QWERTY keyboard
On the onscreen keyboard, tap the 12# button. On the slide out keyboard, press the FN button and the corresponding key.

Enable or disable T9 predictive text using QWERTY keyboard
On the onscreen keyboard, tap the XT9/ABC button to switch between modes. On the slide out keyboard, press FN>up arrow to enable XT9.

General Tips more

Change the sleep and backlight settings
Settings Tab > Menu > All Settings > System > Power. Select the Backlight tab. You can specify when your device turns off (to conserve battery power). Note: Changing these settings will impact the length of time that the screen stays on while on a call.

Switch to/from sleep mode
Tap the Power button once.

Add or remove cities in the Weather tab of Sense™
Tap Menu > Add Location or Remove Location.
Note: Add Location will only be available if there is room for more cities, this application will support up to 15 cities at a time.

Switch between cities in the Weather tab of Sense™
Quickly swipe your finger upwards or downwards on the current weather to switch cities

Change font size to see more/less content on the screen
Settings Tab > Personalize > Font > use the onscreen slider to adjust the text size.

Close running applications
Select Start > Task Manager > Select End Task for Menu End All Tasks.

Access the Camera
Select the Photos and Videos Tab and tap the Camera or Video Recorder icon

Switch between Camera capture modes
Tap the icon in the bottom right corner of the screen while in the Camera application to access the capture mode menu

Preview pictures in the Photos and Videos tab in Sense™
Swipe your finger upwards/downwards on the image to switch between the different pictures in the device memory

View a picture in full screen
From the Photos and Videos Tab tap the picture you want to see full size

Zoom in/out of a picture in the HTC Photo Album
Double tap the area you want to zoom in on or pinch to zoom.

Adjust the time, time zone, or alarm clock settings
Tap on the clock from the Home tab. Tap the clock again and adjust the time. > Tap done when finished

Phone more

Open Phone screen
Press the Send/Talk Button or tap Phone at the bottom of the screen

Make a call
Tap numbers to dial on the screen then press the Send/Talk button

Call selected name or number
Slide to People in Sense™ and select your contact from your Favorites or tap All People to see all contacts

Turn mute on/off during call
Tap the Mute icon on the Call Status screen

Switch between Speakerphone and earpiece during a call
Tap the Speaker icon on the Call Status screen, press and hold the Send Call button, or simply turn the device facedown

Change volume during a call
Use the up/down volume button on the side of the device during a call

Adjust the ringer volume
Use the up/down volume button on the side of the device (when not on a call)

Silence an incoming call
Tap the Mute Ring icon on screen, or simply turn the device over so it is face down.

View phone call logs
Phone > Menu > Call History or tap Call History on the Home Screen.
