How does GPS work? more

A system of satellites orbits the earth, sending satellite data down towards the planet. The GPS receiver in your device scans the sky for these satellite signals, and triangulates your location based upon which satellites it receives its signal from. Was this helpful? Yes | No

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for GPS to find my location. What can I do? more

Make sure that you have a clear view to the sky and soft reset your device by inserting the tip of the stylus into the Reset hole located on the bottom of the device to the right of the USB port. Was this helpful? Yes | No

How to get directions using Google Maps more

To look up driving directions using Google Maps, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
2. Tap Google Maps.
3. Tap Menu.
4. Tap Get Directions….
5. Use My Location and skip to step 8 or tap Start Point to enter a different start point.
6. Tap the Keyboard icon at the bottom of the screen to enter a start address.
7. Tap OK.
8. Tap End Point.
9. Tap the Keyboard icon at the bottom of the screen to enter an end address.
10. Tap OK.
11. Tap Show Directions.
12. Tap OK.
13. Tap See map to see the directions on a map.  
14. Tap the Right or Left arrow at the bottom of the screen to step through the directions on the map.
15. Tap See List icon to view the directions as a list again.

How to search for locations using Google Maps

To search for location using Google Maps, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
2. Tap Google Maps.
3. Tap Menu.
4. Tap Search.
5. Tap the Keyboard icon and enter one of the following:
   • Address
   • Business
   • Place of interest
6. Tap OK.
7. Tap the desired search result for the address and details.

How to turn on / off GPS more

To turn on or turn off the Global Positioning System (GPS) in Google Maps, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
2. Tap Google Maps. Note: The first time that you open Google Maps, tap Accept and then tap OK to continue. Tap Menu.  
3. Tap Use GPS to select or clear the check box.

How to download and use QuickGPS more

QuickGPS significantly speeds up the time for determining your GPS position because it downloads GPS data from Web servers instead of from satellites.

To download and use QuickGPS, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
2. Tap Tools.
3. Tap Quick GPS.
4. Tap Download.

How to turn on or turn off the TeleNav more

To turn on or turn off the TeleNav Global Positioning System (GPS), follow these steps:

Note: You must have a TeleNav GPS Navigator account or 30 day trial account to use this application.  

1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
2. Tap TeleNav.
3. Tap Accept to the terms of service.
4. From First Name, enter your first name.
5. Tap the Last Name.
6. Enter your last name.
7. If desired, tap Email and enter your e-mail address.
8. Tap Go.
9. Tap Go to the free 30 day trial message. You are prompted to upgrade your account after the 30 trial period ends.
10. Read the warning about configuring TeleNav while driving and tap Go.
11. Tap Yes or No to take a tour of the TeleNav features.
12. To exit TeleNav, tap Exit.
13. Tap Yes.

How to cancel your TeleNav subscription more

To cancel your TeleNav subscription, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
2. Tap TeleNav.
3. Click Tools & Extras.
4. Click About.
5. Click Cancel Subscription.
6. Tap one or more of the following to select:
   • Performance/reliability
   • Switched to other GPS
   • Hard to use
   • Price
   • Switched cell carrier
   • Other and enter a reason
7. Tap Next.
8. Tap one or more of the following to select:
   • More accurate directions
   • Nothing
   • Easier to use
   • Lower price
   • Other and enter a reason
9. Tap Cancel Subscription.
10. Tap YES to confirm.
11. Tap OK.

How to get driving directions on the device using the TeleNav Global Positioning System more

To look up driving directions using the TeleNav Global Positioning System (GPS), follow these steps:

Note: You must have a TeleNav GPS Navigator account or 30-day trial account to use this application.  

1. From the Home screen, tap Start.
2. Tap TeleNav.
3. Read the warning about configuring TeleNav while driving and tap Go.
4. Tap Drive To.
5. Tap Address.
6. Tap Type it. Note: Tap Speak It to use voice prompts.
7. Tap OK to the message about leaving the street field blank to go to the city center.
8. From Address, enter the address.
9. Tap City.
10. Enter the city.
11. Tap State or Zip.
12. Enter the state or zip code.
13. Tap Country.
14. Select the country from the drop-down list.
15. Tap Done.
16. Follow the vocal prompts to your destination.
