- What does a Hard Reset do and how is it performed? more
-
A Hard Reset restores the device to its default settings — the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on the device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
Warning! The device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before proceeding.
With the device powered on:
Go to Start > More > More > Device Management > Clear Storage.
Enter in the password provided on the display of the device (should be 1234) and select Yes.

- Why does my device respond slowly, freeze and sometimes crash? more
-
The main reason for a device to slow down and crash is the lack of available memory. You will want to free up more memory so that the device can return to normal function.
There is a Task Manager that allows you to view programs that are currently running and gives you the option to shut them down by going to Start> More> More> Task Manager.
Clear the History and Temp files in your browser:
In Internet Explorer go to Menu>Tools>Options>Browsing History>Clear. Was this helpful? Yes | No - Why does my device respond slowly, freeze and sometimes crash? more

-
A hard reset basically returns your device RAM to factory conditions, the device is restored to its default settings – the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on.
Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile software and other pre-installed programs will remain. This is a drastic step, and usually only as a result of some kind of hardware failure or gross system error. It should only be taken if nothing else worked to recover your device. Was this helpful? A soft reset basically resets the memory structure in the handheld. This recovers the device from memory conflicts, corrupted system service chains (mainly due to attempting hacks), memory leaks, and system lockups due to the “Fatal Exception” program errors. Removing the battery from the device while it is still powered on is NOT a soft reset and can actually damage the device.
A Soft Reset is performed by:
- Power the device off.
- Remove the battery cover and battery.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Replace the battery and battery cover.
- Power the device back on.
- My device shows "No Service". What is wrong more
- If you are getting "No Service" try turning the device off and back on, changing locations and contacting your carrier to verify coverage. Was this helpful? Yes | No
