How do I display more information on the Today screen? more
Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Today > Items tab, then select all the items you want to appear on the Today screen.
I don't know where the soft key is. Is there any other way to do a hard reset? more
Tap Start > Settings > System tab, then tap Clear Storage and input " 1234". Your device will then start to do a hard reset.
Why didn't the LED indicator light up amber to inform me I have a missed call? more
You need to adjust your device's notification settings.
  1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Sounds & Notifications.
  2. On the Notifications tab, select Phone: Missed Call on Event.
  3. Select the Flash light for option, then set the duration for the flashing light notification.
  4. Tap OK when finished. If you failed to check your phone during the set duration time, the LED indicator returns to normal green light.
How do I set the device password? more
To set the device password:
  1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Lock.
  2. Select the Prompt if device unused for option and set the idle time before the device asks for the password.
  3. Choose the password type, then enter a 4-digit or more alphanumeric password in both Password and Confirm boxes.
  4. Tap OK, then tap Yes to save the password.
How can I adjust the size of text on my device? more
On a PDA phone:
  1. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Screen > Text Size tab to change the text size. A smaller text size makes reading e-mails, calendar appointments, and tasks more visually convenient. You may also enable ClearType for smoother text resolution.
On a smartphone:
  1. Select Start > Settings > Accessibility.
  2. Set System font size to Normal or Large.
The time zone automatically changes to “London” or the default setting. more
Please do the following:
  1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Phone > Time Zones tab, and then clear the Automatic change time zone and clock check box.
  2. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Clock & Alarms. Make sure the Home setting is set to your time zone.
How do I change the Today screen background? more
  1. Select a background picture on your computer, reduce its size to 320 x 240 pixels, and then copy it to My Computer/Mobile Device.
  2. On your device, tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Today.
  3. Select the Use this picture as the background check box then tap Browse.
  4. Find and select the background picture you copied.
Tapping the “X” icon in a program simply closes the program screen but the program continues to run on my device. How can I change the settings so that I can end a program by tapping the “X” icon? more
  1. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Task Manager.
  2. On the Button tab, select Enable the “X” button to end running programs and select End programs by tapping “X” or End programs by tapping and holding “X.”
How do I change the function or program that is assigned to a button? more
Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Buttons, select the button, then assign a program or function to that button. The TALK and END buttons cannot be changed.
Can I remove the incoming/outgoing call time from Start>Settings>System tab>Device Information>Call Duration? more
No. The call time only can be removed by performing a hard reset of your device. Refer to your device user manual for instructions on how to do a hard reset.
When a call is placed, the screen will timeout after 15 seconds. How do I change this setting? more
This timeout interval is the default setting for the screen. During a call, the backlight is turned off to save battery power. To change the setting:
  • On PDA phones, tap Start > Settings > System tab > Backlight. On the Battery Power tab, select the Turn off backlight if device is not used for check box and then select the new timeout interval.
  • On smartphones, select Start > Settings > More > Power Management. Select the new timeout interval in Backlight timeout on battery.
How do I customize the frequently-used programs list on the Start menu? more
The PDA phone's Start menu displays up to seven frequently-used programs. The default programs in the menu include Office Mobile, Calendar, Contacts, Internet Explorer, Messaging, Phone, and Help. If you want to change the programs that are listed in the Start menu, tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Menus, select the programs you want to add to the Start menu, and clear the check boxes of those programs that you do not want to appear on the Start menu.
How do I set up sound for incoming text messages on my PDA? more
  1. Tap Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications.
  2. In the Notifications tab, select Messaging: New text message.
  3. Select the Play sound check box then choose a sound to use.
My device's memory space is full. I've removed programs and reinstalled them onto a storage card, but there is still not enough memory space available. more
If you browse the Internet frequently, clear the web history from time to time by following these steps:
  1. Open Internet Explorer and then tap Menu > Tools > Options > Memory tab.
  2. Tap Clear History.
When navigating programs, my device is not responding accurately to stylus taps. What should I do? more
Recalibrate the screen. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Screen, tap Align Screen and follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the screen.
How do I enable or disable the sound when finger scrolling or panning on screen? more
  1. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > TouchFLO.
  2. Clear or select the Enable sound when finger scrolling and panning option to disable or enable sound.
I removed a built-in application from the device. How can I restore it? more
You can restore your device to its default factory settings to restore the application you removed.
  1. Back up all your data to your computer or storage card.
  2. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Clear Storage.
  3. Enter “1234” on the box, then tap Yes to restore the device to its default factory settings.
How do I extend the backlight time on my PDA? more
  1. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Backlight.
  2. Tap the Battery power or External power tab.
  3. Select a longer backlight timeout from the drop-down list.
How can I increase the text size on my device? more
Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Screen > Text Size, then move the slider towards Largest to increase the text size.
