How can I use my PDA phone as a GPS navigator? more
GPS navigation requires a satellite receiver and a navigation software. You may purchase these from third party retailers.
My device can't detect any GPS signal. What's the problem? more
  • Is your device's built-in GPS antenna covered by any material with metallic coating (e.g., windshield, sticker, etc.)? These materials may interfere with your GPS signal reception.
  • Since signals from satellites often cannot pass through buildings, please test the GPS outdoors.
  • If you are using an external GPS antenna, please make sure it is securely and properly connected to the antenna connector at the back side of your device.
What is GPS? more
GPS (Global Positioning System) is a satellite-based radio navigation system that consists of three segments - the satellite constellation, ground control network, and user equipment. People uses GPS on their mobile devices with navigation software applications such as TomTom, Papago, etc.
How do I configure my External GPS to my device? more
Launch the TomTom application, tap on the screen, and tap on Change Preferences, go to preferences screen 3 of 5, select Show GPS Status and select Configure. Select Other GPS NMEA and set the baud rate to 4800. Next, set COM port to COM4. Wait until it acquires a GPS signal and then tap done.
What is AGPS? more
Assisted Global Positioning System. It was introduced to enhance performance. With conventional GPS systems, it is often difficult to provide reliable positions under poor signal conditions, for example, if you are surrounded by tall buildings (as a result of multipath) or if the satellite signals are weakened when you are indoors or under a tree. Some newer receivers fare better. The AGPS system, consisting of an integrated GPS receiver and network components, boosts performance beyond that of the same receiver in a stand-alone mode. Note: AGPS will use the data connection of your device such as GPRS, and may incur connection charges.
