My Battery doesn’t stay charged for very long. What can I do to conserve power?

There are different features such as watching YouTube, listening to music, programs running in the background, using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®, constantly synchronizing e-mail that can drain the battery quickly.

To improve battery life, refer to the following information:

When your device is not in use, press the Power button to switch off the screen. Select a shorter idle time before the phone screen switches off and lower the screen brightness. To do this, press HOME > MENU > Settings > Display > Brightness and Screen timeout.

Use the AC adapter to plug your device into an external power outlet whenever possible.

Turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi off when you are not using it. To do this, press HOME > MENU > Settings > Wireless & Networks.

Turn off your phone connection to GPS satellites when not in use. To do this, press HOME > MENU, tap Settings > Location, then clear the GPS satellites option.

**For quicker access to enable/disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, etc, touch and hold on the Home Screen and Widget>Power Control. Add this Widget to your home screen.

Close battery-intensive programs, such as the Camera, when you are done using them.

Why won't my device power on?
Your battery may be drained or is not seated correctly. Remove the battery and inspect the contacts. Remove any debris/residue found on the device or battery contacts with a soft, dry cloth. Attempt to charge the device. If the battery is dead, the device will need to charge for a few minutes and then should power on once this happens. Attempt to power the device on by pressing the Power Button for 3 seconds. Try another battery. If the device still will not power on, contact your wireless carrier for further assistance.

Can I install applications to my microSD card?

Currently programs can only be installed on the device's internal storage.  However, after the application has been installed, you can move it to your storage card. Go to Home>Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications. Next just touch the apps you want moved to your storage and the touch the Move to SD Card.

Note: This option may not be available for all applications.  If you remove your storage card from your device, you will no longer have access to applications that you have moved to it

How long should it take to charge my battery?
Your battery can take up to 4 hours to fully charge using the AC charger. It will take much longer using the USB as that is the trickle charge function.

Why does it take so long to charge my device using USB?
The USB cable acts as a trickle charger so it will take longer than if you were using an AC charger. While the USB will work, it is recommended to use the AC charger, especially if the battery level reaches 10% or below.

My device has gotten warm and appears to have stopped charging. What is happening?

When using the device for prolonged periods of time, such as when you're talking on the phone, charging the battery or browsing the web, the device may become warm. In most cases, this condition is normal and therefore should not be interpreted as a problem with the device.

The device has a protection feature that if the device becomes too warm (due to use of GPS while charging, BT while charging, using the device as a wireless modem, etc), the auto protection feature will be triggered and the charging process will be stopped. Once the device cools down, the device will then begin charging again.
