    I set an unlock pattern on my device and don’t recall what it is. How do I unlock my device?

    The only way to gain access to the device if you cannot remember the unlock pattern is to hard reset the unit. Since the device is locked, you will not have the opportunity to back up any of your information (which is why it is advised to perform regular backs ups).

    To perform a Hard Reset on your device:

    With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.

    Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.

    Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.

    Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.

    To transfer files from your computer to your phone’s storage card, you need to set the phone’s storage card as a Disk Drive. Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable, and open the notifications panel. Tap “Select to change USB Connection Type” and change it to Disk Drive. the phone will appear as an external USB drive on your computer

    How do I get into my phone when I've forgotten my password?
    If you are using a pattern lock to secure your device, tap Forgot Pattern button after five failed attempts and sign into your Google account to unlock your phone and reset your pattern.

    If you are using a PIN or Password lock, the only way to get into your phone when you have forgotten your PIN or Password is to perform a Factory Reset.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: A Factory reset will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will remove any applications you’ve downloaded and installed. Your SD and SIM card data will not be deleted.

    To perform a factory reset with the phone turned off, first remove the battery for 10 seconds, then re-insert the battery and replace the battery cover. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.

    Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.

    Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.

    Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.

    How do I load Music on my device?

    The Music files must be loaded on your storage card; there is not an option to store these files on the devices internal memory.

    There are a few ways to add files to your storage card:

    You can connect the device to your PC in Disk Drive mode and drag and drop the files from your PC to your Storage card.

    You can use the HTC Sync Software to copy the music from your PC to your storage card.

    You can use an SD Card Adaptor to connect your card directly to your PC and drag and drop the files onto the card.

    How can I set up a custom tone for SMS, MMS, email, etc.?

    Once you have the file that you would like touch set as a custom alert, you will need to save it to your SD Card in your phone.

    The easiest way to do this is:

    Connect your device to your PC via the Data Cable.

    On your device, touch the Notification bar to open it and then touch the USB Icon “Select to change USB connection type”.

    Select Disk Drive and touch Done.

    On your PC, go to My Computer and your device will be listed as a removable disk drive.

    Open the disk drive by double clicking on it.

    Once open, you should see the contents of your SD Card.

    If you do not have a folder named Notifications, right Click and create one.

    Once you have created the Notifications folder, open it and drag and drop the files you want to be available for custom alerts into the folder.

    Once you are done, disconnect from your PC and your files will be available for selection under Sounds & Display on your device.

    Here you will find options to change the Brightness as well as the Screen Timeout interval.

    What are Scenes?

    Scenes are pre-set home screen configurations that can be accessed from the home screen by pressing Menu>Scenes. Each scene has its own style/layout.  You can use either the preconfigured Scenes or create one of your own.

    To create your own custom scenes, select your wallpaper, widgets, shortcuts, etc. Once you have everything configured, to save the style, press Menu>Scenes>ensure that Current (unsaved) is selected and touch Save. At this point you can name your scene and then press Done to save it. Once saved, this Scene will be listed among the preconfigured Scenes for selection.

    Please Note that there is not an option to save alert tones (ring, sms, etc) as part of the Scene.

    Once the scan is complete, you will be presented with a list of devices that were found, touch on the one that you would like to pair with and If required, type the PIN and touch OK

    HTC Sync is not compatible with Macintosh computers. While you will be unable to use HTC Sync to synchronize your PIM information, you can transfer files such as music, movies, photos, etc. to your HTC device by mounting the device as a disk drive.

    To unlock the screen press the Power button then drag the ring on the screen upwards.  You can also drag one of the lock screen icons into the ring to link straight to that application.  If you have set a pattern password, draw the pattern you set to unlock.

    Note: If you set an unlock pattern and don’t recall what it is, you will have to hard reset your device and reconfigure it for use.
