Understanding device storage
Curious about how the device storage works? This device contains 64GB of built-in storage, which can be used for many different purposes. By default, ~5.5GB of the storage is used by the Android operating system, HTC Sense, and other pre-installed applications. The remaining storage can be used for apps or other personal data such as music, videos and other files.
Curious how much available storage is left? Go to Settings
to check the status.
Cloud Storage for Files
Want to keep files online for easy on-the-go access? Choose from a variety of cloud storage options.
- AT&T Locker is pre-installed, and offers 5 GB of storage free with an AT&T line of service.
- If files are already on a different service such as Dropbox, SkyDrive or Box, simply download the app from the Play Store for easy access on the device.
Cloud Storage for Music
Have a large music library and want it all on the device? Google Play Music allow up to 20,000 songs to be uploaded to the servers and streamed to the device. Going on an airplane or on a road trip? Simply pin some music to the device and it will be available offline. For more information about Google Play Music, visit https://play.google.com/music/listen
and then sign in using the Google account.
: Music purchased using the Google Play store does not count against the 20,000 song limit.
Syncing Music and Files
Want to sync music and files to or from a PC or Mac? HTC Sync Manager scans the computer for music files, even those files in popular applications like Windows Media Player and iTunes. Once the scan is finished, connect the device to the computer using the USB cable and choose the desired items to sync. For more information about HTC Sync Manager, visit http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager.
: HTC Sync Manager can also be used to sync personal information such as contacts and calendar.
Hiding and Disabling Apps
Preinstalled applications getting in the way? While preinstalled applications cannot be uninstalled, they can be hidden within the All Apps menu. While in All Apps, tap Menu
> Hide apps
and then check the apps to be hidden.
Preinstalled applications can also be disabled. Disabling an app prevents it from being accessed from the Android operating system or other apps. To disable an app, go to Settings
, choose the desired app and then tap Disable
. To re-enable a disabled app, follow the same process above and then tap Enable
: Disabling some applications can cause unexpected behavior with the device. Proceed with caution.
