    HTC Sync allows synchronization between a device and PC. You can find the latest version of HTC Sync, instructions, and drivers in the Downloads tab in the Support website for your device.

    : Once HTC Sync is set up, you can choose to synchronize Calendar and Contacts (People) from Outlook, or copy over Music, Pictures (Gallery), Bookmarks or Documents.

    Note 2: If your device is not recognized by HTC Sync, make sure to select HTC Sync from the USB connection type menu.

    Why can't I synchronize my phone and PC using HTC Sync?

    Before syncing for the first time, please ensure that HTC Sync mode is enabled. Open the Notifications panel and touch Select to change USB Connection Type. Change it to HTC Sync and touch Done.

    If still not able to synchronize please download the latest driver and HTC Sync software at http://www.htc.com/us/support/inspire-att/downloads/.

    Your Antivirus or Firewall application must also be set to allow HTC Sync access.

    If previously able to synchronize you can uninstall any recently installed applications or uninstall and reinstall HTC Sync.

    To transfer files from your computer to your device’s storage card, you need to set the device’s storage card as a USB drive. Connect the device to the computer using the USB cable, and then choose Disk drive from the on-screen menu that appears. The storage card is now mounted as a USB drive. Drag and drop the desired files to your PC to back them up.

    I set an unlock pattern on my device and don’t recall what it is. How do I unlock my device?

    Try your pattern 15 times and a dialog box will appear that will link you to sign into your Gmail account where you can create a new pattern password.
    If you don't remember the password for your Gmail account, you will need to complete a factory data reset. Factory reset will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will remove any applications you've downloaded and installed. SD and SIM card data will not be deleted.

    With the phone turned off, press and hold the Volume Down button, and Power button for 10 seconds.

    Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the buttons.

    Press Volume Down to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the Power button.

    Yes, you will lose your data on the device. However, if you have set up a Google account on your device, your data is synchronized and backed up on your Google account.

    To setup a Google account, press Menu on the Home screen, and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync > choose Add Account > Select Google, and then tap Next > follow the onscreen instructions to enter the account information. Your Google account will automatically sync with your Google contacts, Google calendar, and Gmail.

    The only way to get into your phone when you have forgotten your PIN or Password is to perform a Factory Reset.

    Factory reset will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will remove any applications you’ve downloaded and installed. SD and SIM card data will not be deleted.


    With the phone turned off, press and hold the Volume Down button, and Power button for 10 seconds.

    Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the buttons.

    Press Volume Down to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the Power button.

    Yes. To use your device as a Wireless Modem, connect your device to your PC using the provided data cable. Next, on your device, open the Notification screen and touch “Select to Change USB Connection type”. Touch USB tethering and Done. Select the USB Tethering type (Windows or Mac). The connection process will now begin.

    Your device is set up by default to automatically sync with your Google account, if you have set one up already.     If you don’t want your accounts listed in Accounts & sync to synchronize automatically, press Menu on the Home screen, and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync and then uncheck Background data and Auto-sync.

    What are Scenes?

    Scenes are pre-set home screen configurations that can be accessed from the home screen by pressing Menu>Personalize>Scene. Each scene has its own style/layout.  You can use either the preconfigured Scenes or create one of your own.

    To create your own custom scenes, go to Menu>New and enter a name for your new Scene. All of the home screens will display blank. You can now select your wallpaper, widgets, shortcuts, etc. Once saved, this Scene will be listed among the preconfigured Scenes for selection.

    Note: Alert tones (ring, sms, etc) are not considered part of the Scene, and therefore will not change as you switch between scenes.

    How do I set a song as a notification or alarm sound?
    1. Use the micro USB cable to connect the device to a USB port on your computer.
    2. On your device, choose Disk drive as the connection type. This will allow you to access the micro SD card on your device from the computer and be able to copy music onto the micro SD card.
    3. On your computer, open the new removable disk.
    4. If it doesn’t already exist, create a folder on the root folder of the micro SD card and name it “notifications” or “alarms” depending on the type of sound you are looking for.
    5. Copy your desired MP3 files to this folder. Any song or MP3 file that you put on the notifications/alarms folder will be added on to the list of available notifications on the handset.
    6. Disconnect the USB cable from your device, or turn off USB storage on your device. Your song will now be listed as an available notification.

    To switch your sound profile using the volume keys, simply press the Volume Down key until the Silent mode or Vibrate mode icons are displayed.
