On the Home Screen more

See programs and applications
To open the application list tap the All Programs up arrow on the bottom left of Home screen.

Customize the Home screen(s)
You can customize your Home screen to display applications, shortcuts, and widgets. Add an application, widget, or shortcut to the Home screen.

1. Tap and hold a vacant spot on the Home screen or press the plus (+) button at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select Widget, App, Shortcut, or Folder from the pop-up menu.
3. Select the desired type of widget to place on the Home screen.
4. The icon is added to the Home screen.

To remove an icon from the Home screen:

1. Tap and hold the icon that you want to remove.
2. Slide the icon to the Remove trash can at the bottom of the screen.

Open or select items
Tap any icon to start using the application.

Return to the Home screen
Tap the Home key.

Access the System Status (Signal strength, network, battery level, etc.)
From the Home screen tap Menu > Settings > About Phone.

Read and dismiss notifications (alarm, reminders, new message indicator, etc.)
When you see a notification in the status bar, tap the bar and slide your finger down the screen to open the list of notifications. Alternatively, from the Home screen, you can press Menu, and then tap Notifications. To open the notification, tap the item. To clear notifications, tap Clear notifications at the top of the notification window. To close the notification window, slide your finger up the screen.

Add an applications shortcut
To quickly add an application shortcut to a Home screen, tap the All Programs icon; then tap and hold an application icon, and then release in the desired location.

Turn the screen off
Press the Power button.

Rearrange the icons on the home screen
Tap and hold the desired icon or widget and then drag the icon/widget to the desired location or screen.

Switch scenes
Tap Menu > Scenes. Choose the desired Scene.

Change the style of widget displayed
Remove and re-add the widget choosing the desired style.

Change the wallpaper
Tap Menu > Wallpaper and choose the desired wallpaper.

Make a call

Phone Features more

Silence your phone
Press and hold the Power button, and then tap Silent mode.

Change volume during a call
Use the Volume Up/Down on the side of the device.

Change ringtones
From Settings, tap Sound & display > Phone ringtone.

Set a music file as a ringtone
Open the music file in the Music application and then tap Menu > Set as ringtone.

Dial a specific contact
Open the Phone application and spell out the contact using the Phone keypad.

Disable the Save to Contacts feature
Open the Phone application, tap Menu > Phone Settings, and uncheck the Save to Contacts button.

View call history

Attachments more

Download an attachment
Tap the down arrow next to the name of the attachment.

View all emails with attachments
Scroll to the paperclip icon in the inbox.

Save an attachment
After downloading the attachment, tap the paperclip icon for the attachment and then select Save to SD card.

Open an attachment
After downloading the attachment, tap the paperclip icon for the attachment and then select Open. Was this helpful? Yes | No

Calendar more

Open the calendar
From the Home screen, tap the Programs button and then tap Calendar.

Create a new appointment
While in the calendar, tap the plus (+) sign and fill in the necessary information.

Switch to Agenda View
While in the calendar, tap the three horizontal line button in the bottom-left corner.

Open an appointment
Tap the appointment.

Delete an appointment
Tap and hold the appointment and select Delete event from the menu.

Enable or disable calendars
While in the calendar, tap Menu > More > Calendars and check/uncheck the desired calendars.

Add the calendar to a Home screen
Locate an empty spot on the Home screen and tap the Add to home (+) icon > Widget > Calendar (HTC) and select the desired calendar type. Was this helpful? Yes | No

Browser more

Access the browser
From the Home screen, tap All Programs and then tap Internet.

Open a desired webpage
Tap in the address bar and enter the desired URL.

Zoom into a webpage
Use two fingers to make a pinching motion on the screen, or just double-tap the screen.

Zoom out of a webpage
Use two fingers to make an outward pinching motion on the screen, or just double-tap the screen.

Start a Google search
Tap the magnifying glass button to bring up the search window.

Switch windows
Tap Menu > Windows and then tap on the desired window.

Close windows
Tap Menu > Windows and then tap the X on the window you want to close.

Create a bookmark
Tap Menu > Add bookmark while on the desired webpage.

Rotate the screen
Simply rotate the device either to portrait or landscape mode. Was this helpful? Yes | No

Switch screens on the home screen
Slide your finger left or right across the Home screen, or use the trackball to slide left and right.

View all Home screens at the same time
Use the new Leap feature -- make a pinching motion on any Home screen to view all Home screens. You can also press the Home key twice. Was this helpful? Yes | No

Typing more

Access the keyboard
Tap in a text box and the keyboard will appear.

Close the keyboard
Tap the arrow down icon on the bottom left of the keyboard.

Turn on CAPS
Tap the up arrow/Shift key twice. You will see a line appear under the arrow up.

Access the special characters on the top of each letter
Tap and hold the desired key until the desired character appears.

Access the number pad
Tap the 12# button on the keyboard.

Change the keyboard settings

Messages more

Access messages
Tap Programs > Messages.

Create a new message
Open Messages and then tap New Message.

Reply to a message
Tap the desired message and then tap in the Compose area to reply.

Forward a message
Tap and hold the desired message and then tap Forward.

Delete a message
Tap and hold the desired message and then tap Delete message.

Attach a picture to a message
While composing a message, press Menu and then tap Attach. Choose Picture from the Menu.

Change notification options (sound, vibrate, etc.)
In Messages, tap Menu > Settings and modify the Received or Sent messages options as desired. Was this helpful? Yes | No

General Tips more

View which applications have recently been accessed
Press and hold the Home button until the task list appears.

Stop applications from running
Soft reset the device.

Put the device in vibrate mode
Press and hold the Power button and then tap Vibrate mode.

Put the device in silent mode
Press and hold the Power button and then tap Silent mode.

Put the device in Airplane mode
Press and hold the Power button and then tap Airplane mode.

Access settings
From the Home screen, tap Menu > Settings.

Access the Android Market
Tap All Programs and then tap Market.

Install an application from the Android Market
Choose the desired application in the Market and tap Install.

Remove an application that was installed to the device
From Settings, tap Applications > Manage applications. Locate the desired application, tap it, and then tap Uninstall.

Search
Tap the magnifying glass icon.

Enable or disable Wi-Fi
From Settings, tap Wireless & networks and then tap Wi-Fi to enable or disable.

Enable or disable Bluetooth
From Settings, tap Wireless & networks and then tap Bluetooth to enable or disable.

Enable or disable 4G
From Settings, tap Wireless & networks and then tap 4G to enable or disable.

Enable the Sprint Hotspot
Tap All Programs and then tap Sprint Hotspot. Tap OK when prompted. Enter desired security settings and then tap the checkbox at the top to enable.

Disable the Sprint Hotspot
Tap All Programs and then tap Sprint Hotspot. Tap OK when prompted. Tap the checkbox at the top to disable.

Set a screen lock
From Settings, tap Security and then tap Set unlock pattern.

Zoom in/out on the camera
Tap the screen and then swipe your finger up/down on the screen to zoom.

Enable or disable the camera flash
While in the camera, tap the lightning bolt icon to choose the desired flash setting.

Swap cameras
While in the camera, tap the settings arrow on the side. Then tap the settings gear and tap Switch camera.

Sync social networking accounts
From Settings, tap Accounts & sync and then tap Add account. Choose the desired account type.

Use the FM Radio
Ensure you have a wired headset connected and then launch the FM Radio application in All Programs.

Use Google Voice search
