Before you proceed, please confirm that this software upgrade to 4.67.651.3 is a newer version than what is currently loaded on your device.  If it is the same version, there is no need to reload the software.  Navigate to the Home screen then tap Menu > Settings > About phone > Software Information and locate the Software number. If your Software number is less than 4.67.651.3, you should proceed with the upgrade.

WARNING: During the upgrade process the device will reboot multiple times and show software upgrade screens.  Do not remove the battery as this will stop the update and your device may be rendered inoperable!

Getting Started

  Before you proceed with the update, make sure you have done the following:

• Set aside approximately 20 minutes to allow the device to update
• Connect the device to a charger.
• Ensure the battery is charged to at least 35%.
• If available, connect to Wi-Fi or 4G to speed up the update download process.

Installation instructions

To manually perform the update, follow these steps below:

1. Tap Menu, Tap Settings





2. Tap System updates





3. Tap HTC software update





4. Tap Check now.





5. Tap OK to download the update.





6. After you select your method of download, you will be prompted with a data fee warning message.  If this is acceptable, Tap YES to start the upgrade process.





7. Status of the download can be checked in the Notifications pull down





8. Once the download is complete, the user will be prompted to install from the Notifications pull down. Tap the System update to begin the upgrade process.






9. Tap OK to begin the update process to software version 4.67.651.3



WARNING: During the upgrade process the device will reboot multiple times and show software upgrade screens. Do not remove the battery as this will stop the update and your device may be rendered inoperable!

10. Device will reboot and begin installation. Users will not be able to use their device during the installation process (approximately 10 minutes).





11. System update complete. Tap OK to continue

Installation Instructions

1. Click Download below to download “htc_sync_3.0.5617_us.exe” to your PC.
2. Double-click on the “htc_sync_3.0.5617_us.exe” file to begin the installation.
   Note: Please close all running programs and temporarily exit your anti-virus program when you install HTC Sync.
3. Once the installation is complete, connect the device to the PC via USB and on the device, select HTC Sync from the “Connect to PC” pop up or if the pop-up doesn’t appear,
   on the device, select Home>Menu>Settings>Connect to PC>Default connection type>
   HTC Sync.
4. The device will then start searching the PC for the HTC Sync software.
5. Once found, the Device Setup will open on the PC and guide you through the set up process.
6. Once the set up process is complete, your device will then be synced.
   Note: HTC Sync does not support wireless syncing; the device must be connected to the PC in order to be synced.
