Rated 1 out of 5Â by Triedthisphone1201 I wanted to try a different phone than the one I previously had, an iPhone. I have been VERY disappointed to see that the battery life on the phone barely last 12 hours, it's manner of texting makes it very difficulty to send and receive messages, and the manner in which mail is displayed makes it look primitive. I actually lost all my battery life in an hour and half one day AND missed important messages, texts, and emails.
I would NOT recommend this phone.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Mark689 Not a fan of HTC
I have been using HTC phones for years. From 8125 to the FUZE and now the Vivid and during that time I have had problems with the function of the phone constantly freezing and locking. At first I thought it was the Windows software that was causing the problem but now that I have the Vivid with the Android software, I have realized that it's the phones. As much as I like the features that you get with the HTC, the constant problems out weighs it. And in turn, I will no longer get an HTC phone, the Vivid is my last one.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Jeffrey827 Cool & affordable smartphone
This is my first smartphone. I purchased it because of its specifications. The dual core processor makes the device a very powerful unit which makes mobile gaming and social networking a breeze. I love the HD camera, as well as the high resolution display. The only compaints I have is the poor battery quality, constant upgrades at startup, 1GB of ram is good but the device will consume it all if you run too many apps, the back cover comes off too easily & the max OS stops at 4.0.3 (ICS). I would love to upgrade to android (jellybean) device but all other options stop at (ICS). Therefore I may stick with this device until I find a worthy upgrade option. As for conserving battery power, I turned down my display & turned off all power hogging apps like wifi, GPS, etc. But all and all, this is not a bad device that I wouldn't mind holding on to for a while.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by gsleon3 Best new htc device in years!
The HTC Vivid is one of the first 4g LYE Devices available on the AT&T network and you will really see the speed increase in the dallas area.
I have used HTC devices beginning with Pocket PC 2002 & since the days of my Blue Angel I have not been so impressed by HTC.
This device was truly made for Sense 3.0 and takes full advantage of the experience with a super responsive 1.2GHz Dual Core processor.
The Vivid is impressive with a huge screen and the best resolution. While the device overall is smaller than the SkyRocket, it had the same 4.5" screen with better resolution. The video, camera and playback is right on the money.
The only con is the battery being less than 1860MaH. If you are a heavy user, you will be recharging every 6 - 8 hours

Rated 5 out of 5 GREAT Phone!
This phone is absolutely amazing! I've had this phone for about a week. After reading the reviews I decided to get one. It's a great phone.
The size is awesome! For me it's almost too big but that's probably because I have small hands.
Another thing I like about the HTC Vivid is that you can take screenshots. It's almost like an iPhone except much cheaper! You take screenshots by holding in the power button on the top right side and pressing the home arrow (the first button on the bottom left side).
Another great thing is the camera! This phone has both a front and main camera. The main camera takes much better quality pictures than the front camera but the front still works great. But, if I could change something I would probably add a camera button on the side.
Yet another awesome this is the battery life. Many people seem to have problems but I don't because I keep the screen brightness down and turn off my Wifi when it's not being used.
The internet is very fast! I love it! It loads pictures/youtube videos very fast.
The widgets are also very helpful. I have the local weather right on my homescreen along with many other useful widgets. It's definitely great for personalization.
The keybord is awesome too. I have fairly large thumbs so it's a plus. I usually use the trace(swype) keyboard which is much faster.
The best thing about this phone is probably how great of service I get. I live in a very rural city in Kentucky so service usually isn't great. But I get 2 or 3 bars at my house which is great.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PHONE!!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by ketan great phone, good features, bulky design
This phone is great for the price. It has everything all the other nice phones have. It comes with the beats audio feature and ICS. It's fast and has never glitched for me. The only thing I don't like is the design. I have small hands and it's shape and weight really agitated my hands at first, even caused cramping. I bought my brother a vivid also and he seems to have no problems with it.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by NoLandline14 So many issues!
I got this phone to replace the iPhone 4 back in may. It was the worst decision. I've had so many issues. First of all, the battery life is horrible. I really only text, call and occasionally web surf and my phone dies halfway through the day. My phone won't charge anymore. My apps will crash. If I'm texting my phone will crash and return to the main screen or shut off all together. My phone freezes at least 2 times a week and I have to take the battery out of it so it'll turn back on. I'm so beyond frustrated with this phone...

Rated 2 out of 5Â by andragon2002 HTC PHONES ARE HORRIBLE!
I have had a bunch of smart phones in my days. I have had Blackberries, a iPhone, and I have had 2 of the HTC phones. Let's talk about the HTC phones, shall we? WELL, when I had the Inspire, it was HORRIBLE! I had to replace it like 6 times, and finally I was able to replace it with the Vivid. I was content with it for the 6 months that I had it. It did it's job, and was working fine up until the 3rd month I had it. WHENEVER I TURNED ON THE PHONE, IT WOULD UPDATE THE SAME 42 APPS WHENEVER I TURNED IT ON!! It was really annoying, and wasted battery time. I am a constant text-er, constant web-browser, constant photo taker, and I call people every now and then. Well, of course, the battery IS HORRIBLE! Much more than the iPhone I would say. It takes really good photos, that's the ONLY plus about it. When I text, the keyboard would freeze or take it's time to read what keys I touched. It would restart out of no where too, and it had came up with the reboot screen about 2 times when I had it, out of no where as well. Anyway's, if you do go for this phone, good luck! I would suggest not getting this for your teenager who constantly does everything that I written above it. By the way, I'm 22. Hope this helps. PLEASE LOOK AT A DIFFERENT PHONE! DO NOT BUY THIS ONE!

Rated 2 out of 5Â by JooBoo I bought an HTC Vivid, no contract. Full price! Big mistake!
I had an iPhone 3GS and I accidentally broke it. I decided to go to an iPhone 4S, but the HTC Vivid caught my eye. I played with it in the AT&T store for about ten minutes and I was very impressed by the display and features. By the time I figured out all the tips and tricks, I had my cell phone's set-up looking better than ever. Having an iPhone I was always unable to do things like set up my screen however I wanted, put locks on anything I wanted and I was happy to be able to block annoying calls and texts again. This phone even unlocked as soon as it noticed my face but it was not worth my whole paycheck. What's the point of having a great phone, with great features if the battery life is poor. i use my phone A LOT for phone calls, texting, Instagram, Netflix, Youtube, and i record lots of videos. And iPhone users are used to great battery life, this was an unacceptable change. And once it dies, it takes me about a half hour to reach 5% to turn it back on. I finally had a phone that had no limit on what it could do, but restricted battery life. BIG CONTRADICTION. I had the phone for six months, dropped it one time and the screen shattered. I have an iPhone 5 now, I will miss the features but at least I can use my phone how I normally use it without worrying if it will die.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Reviewer007 Bulky, clunky, unreliable
This phone is just terrible.
Headphone jack broke after a few uses, the 'htc sense' is vastly inferrior to Samsungs android interface, and after 5 months it's starting to have trouble with connectivity.
Back cover is easy to remove accidentally.
Camera also takes awful pictures.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by EmilyHKC Bad phone.
I got this phone around 3 months ago, and its awful. The screen freezes all the time, and sometimes just goes completely grey. The back of the phone that covers the battery falls off all of the time, and the battery falls out. Other than that its a nice phone. The camera quality is nice on both cameras, and the phone is easy to get the hang of.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ninni123 Great Phone
I have had this phone for about four months now, and i love it! It is a little slippery without a case but i have always had one on it. Way better than my brother and his wife's iphones, can do just so more. I have dropped it a couple of times and nothing was messed up. If deciding to get an android get this phone, and all smartphones batteries never last long.

Ive had the HTC vivid for only 6 months. When i first received it i had to trade it into the att store for a new one because it wouldnt stop resetting itself. Somtimes the touch screen doesnt reconize im touching it so ill have to lock it and unlock it so it works, when the battery dies, if i plug it in and turn it back on,itll shut itself off so i cant ever let it die. The screen will go grey sometimes. The back of my phone falls off all the time, im scared one day im going to lose the back.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by badHTCbad Had I not been on my 3rd replacement HTC Vivid I would have given better scores. This phone does random restarts; not just close apps and restarts; powers off and back on SEVERAL times a day, almost every day. Annoying to say the least (the very least).

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ReenaK Good Phone
I have had several phones. This is a great phone. Battery is good as long as you do not run ALL apps Constantly. but, this is only common sense. The mic being on the bottom middle is my only complaint. It will muffle speaker performance when cell cases are put on. If you are like me, I use otterbox cases. with the otterbox and similar cases, you must carve out the hole in case. After doing that (which is no big deal) quality sound is at it's best. Like I said, Good phone. ease of use. Good camera. Good sound. All aroung good cell. enjoy..

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Sally50 This phone is awesome; the 4GLTE is faster than some WiFi Networks. The screen is large and bright. The battery lasts a good amount of time. The phone is extremely easy to use and the quality of the phone is great. Not much bad I can say about it. If anything it could have more memory but you can add a micro SD memory card to it.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by itsjustme03 Overall, good phone
This was my first smart phone. What I liked: speed. It was very responsive, never froze, switching from app to app was a breeze. Phone could handle it all. What I wished was better: Battery life. I couldn't go a full day - not even close - on a single charge and I wasn't running apps all the time at all. Could have been the battery losing it's mojo... I had it for about a year before it was stolen from me. Also, whenever it rebooted, when you turn it off, or if it runs out of batter and you turn it back on, it would always have to "upgrade". It would take sometimes 5 minutes before you can actually get it started. It would say "Android is upgrading or optimizing." Very annoying. Lastly, I kept my WiFi turned off since it drains battery power. Ever so often, the WiFi would magically turn itself on without me knowing. Not sure if it was an app that was running, or if it was just a glitch, but also, annoying. Overall though, the phone is good.

I have had my phone for the last 9 months and it works just as Great as it did when I first got it. The Screen is clear and bright. Pictures and Videos looks HD quality. Pictures are as good as any digital camera and I love having a double flash for low light picture taking. The phone has only froze maybe twice which isnt bad.
Battery life is to be expected with a smartphone. I usually get a good 14 hours of use without a charge with moderate daily use (casual talking, moderate texting, social networking, and web surfing). A bit less if Im streaming videos or playing games for an hour.
4G LTE works Great!!!! I never realized how slow 3G was until I experienced the LTE network. Everything moves lightening speeds.
Even with the newer model smartphones coming out right now I still would not trade my HTC Vivid for any one of them......At least right now :)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Zackattacked1996 Great! But....
The battery life is OK. I have to charge it everyday, and I'm not use to having to do this. This phone is my first "smart-phone". Having used my friends iPhone 4s, I can honestly say that it's better then the iPhone 4s. Siri might look really cool, but this phone can do exactly the same thing by using google. I can send a text to someone without having to type anything! It's so cool! Overall, I would recommend this to my friends, family, but not my enemies because I don't want them to have such A COOL PHONE!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Loralie Constant Reboot
I've had this phone for 3 months and everyday it frustrates me more and more. On the 6th day of owning it, it started to randomly reboot whenever I'd be in the middle of a phone call. For a while it would only do it during a phone call, but then it started rebooting at other times. In the past 24 hours it has rebooted 8 times. Now when it reboots, it fails to read my SIM card. This is my first smart phone and I already want my old one back. Other than the reboot and failing to read the SIM, it is a nice phone and easy to use, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I purchased this phone on March 1st, 2012 and at first , every thing was peachy keen. Everything was flowing correctly. I had minimal to NO problems with the HTC Vivid. However, here we are in February 2013 and if it weren't for me NEEDING to communicate with my friends , I would HURL this phone at a brick wall , with no sense of guilt about it . Since December of 2012 , there have been multiple issues with this phone , such as : Earphone jack shifting out of place , Apps closing unexpectedly , Audio playback issues , charging issues , and many more . I have gone from LOVING this phone to absolutely HATING it in less than a year . What a waste of my money . I'll think twice next time before purchasing an HTC device .

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Gordy The battery life doesn't last long the way the company says. It sometimes freezes when I'm in the middle of something. It flickers a lot and when it does the background goes black. Half of the time its not 4G. My daughter's Iphone 4 is faster and the battery life last longer.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by vividrich Great value!
I've had this phone for a month now. It's not the best looking phone HTC has ever made, but the goodies inside it are sure nice. It's zippy, the screen is excellent and I love the camera. It's a heavy phone, no doubt about it, but not to the point that I find it to be a problem. Some have said the tapered back edges make it difficult to hold, but I don't find that to be the case. Early models reportedly had loose backs, but mine I'd tight so far. Battery life is ok, I can get a work day out of it. I did buy a spare battery and charger.

I like how HTC makes it so easy for user to navigate through all the features on the phone.
-Shut Down 2-5 times a month by itself
-Heavy and no grip
-Battery cover pops right out with just a little drop
-Speaker is not too loud (iphone 3 is louder... disappointed)

When I went to AT&T, my original intention was to buy the Samsung Galaxy s2. Unfortunately, they were out of stock, so I got the WHITE HTC Vivid instead. I have to say, I actually really like it. Here are my Pros and Cons.
1.) BEAUTIFUL screen display and overal design of the phone feels really sturdy and attractive.
2.) Good sound quality from the ear piece. Far better than the Samsung Galaxy.
3.) Great for streaming videos, even in High Quality, the phone performs great!
1.) There is no physical shutter button for the camera. A draw back for me since I take lots of picture, it sometimes makes using the camera a little difficult and awkward holding the phone and trying to use the touch screen shutter button.
2.)Phone shuts off/reboots fairly frequently. I'd say 2-3 times a month. I've also found that the screen is a glitchy at times, though occurrences are rare.
3.)The battery life is poor, but that's pretty common among most smart phones. There are many ways to improve battery life.
4.) The phone is actually pretty big, and heavy. It took me a while to adjust and learn to text well with it. However, it also feels really sturdy for these reasons.
Despite these few set backs, I don't feel they've hindered the usability of this phone, and overall I still really enjoy it for the other reasons I mentioned. I would recommend this to a friend.
