Rated 1 out of 5Â by EmpressTin2013 Not happy
This is not the first HTC phone I had and when I bought it there was a problem. I had the htc incredible s when it came out. Let me just say horrible phone it didn't charge well, the screen didn't work and the phone company that I purchased it from refused to exchange it before the 14 day grace period. The only thing I liked was the picture quality.
Now the htc vivid I have the same problem. it doesn't charge well the screen doesn't work for most games and it keeps force closing. The other one did the same thing. The thing is I never have much on my phone so it shouldn't be force closing. the company with this phone didn't change it either. it won't play with headphones. Disappointed in the phone.
my htc vivid is only a month old.
overall not happy with htc
they need to step their game up.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by starflight74656 SOLUTION TO BLUETOOTH VOICE DIALER FUNCTION
I've searched and searched for almost a year now since I bought this phone for a solution to the lack of a voice dialer application which is not only compatible with the HTC VIVID, but also one which I can actually start a call using the Bluetooth device, instead of having to unholster the phone, unlock the screen, thumb down to the contact I want to call, and tap CALL.
I found this application on GOOGLE PLAY on the internet browser. It IS NOT on the GOOGLE PLAY STORE app. I used GOOGLE SEARCH, and entered Bluetooth voice dialer for HTC Vivid, then founded an old HTC Community post with a link in it. When I tapped it, it opened the browser to GOOGLE PLAY STORE, where I found this $1.99 application from KLETS called VOICE CONTROL. There is also a free trial version to test it. After trying, the free trial first, I was convinced it'd work, so I installed the full version. At last, a voice dialer app which works with my Bluetooth.
It's not perfect folks, but this one is the only voice dialer app which truely does what I wanted in the first place.
Don't waste your time and money on any of those other ones in the Play Store app. I've tried them, and they don't work, and if you pay for them, you might not be able to get a refund. Be careful.
When you install KLETS Voice Control, you must restart your phone. It's in the installation instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by xoLola Great phone
I've had the HTC Vivid since about June 2012. My battery doesn't have any problems with draining, since I switched from an iPhone 3G to the Vivid, and I think the Vivid has a better battery life? I don't know, that might just be me. The only thing that really bothers me though, is that no matter what I do, my phone cannot seem to connect to the mobile network. It's not a big deal, but it's definitely a bummer when I'm out and about and want to listen to Pandora Radio in my car.
I find the phone to be quite durable. I have a *speck case on it, that is mostly a hard case with a soft-cushion-y material on the inside. I've dropped it a few times - from quite a fearsome height!! - and the screen and everything appears to be in working order. Apps crash every so often, but not HTC's fault. Only thing I wish I could actually change is the colour scheme of the black parts? The favourites bar and the background on the clock/weather app. That would be lovely. Other than that, it's a great phone!!! Will be sad to see it go.

Best Smart phone i have had so far. The main problem I had with the phone was the data (not wifi) would stop working randomly. It was nothing that a quick restart could not fix. Other than that, it worked outstandingly up until I stepped on it, by accident.

This is my second HTC which was replaced soon after I signed up for a two year contract in April. May 1, 2013 it no longer operated. They suggest I get a new smartphone since the warranty expired April 23, 2013. Will not use an HTC Vivid again.

I originally bought an HTC Desire, because my Motorola V3i finally (after 10 years), died, & I was getting ready to go into the hospital for open heart surgery & had to have a phone! I got it in November, 2011 & it didn't even last 1 full yr! I had it back to AT&T every month 4 issue after issue! It wouldn't "transfer" my contacts, music, pics or nothing! It came w an 8 gig SD card I was NEVER able to use, so I was stuck w my 1GB card, then it just quit working, the keyboard wouldn't type any more @ all! So after fighting with AT&T for over 2 weeks, they sold me the Vivid, & I'm still having the very same issues w the SD card, they've quit supporting most of the apps that came w the phone, the speaker is so low you can't hear anything, & if you contact support, they blame it on everyone but themselves! I will never own another HTC device as long as I live!!!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by JohnnyR38 Memory Dump Lost 600+ Pics and Videos
Loved this phone until a random memory dump lost 99% of the pics and videos from December to the present. Lost family vacation, Christmas with my 3 year old, etc. I was told that since the phone has become unpredictable, this sort of thing could happen again at any time. I'm totally disenchanted with it now and discouraged. Just a heads up to back up frequently and be prepared for pending catastrophic failure.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by RagedGypsy Been on that HTC for a long time...and now this?!?!
HTC user for about as long as I could remember and currently upgrading to HTC One ( Not by Choice ). This time I'm typing out a review to counter all of these "would be" good reviews. My issues with this phone, FIRSTLY; HTC Vivid, your phone calling capabilities are horrid. I find my self either trying to shout into my phone or quietly whispering almost to get a clear and understandable conversation with the person I'm talking to. I hate repeating things over and over again. I called AtnT services just to get the same treatment. " Oh, just take out your battery and then wait a minute please and it should resolve the problem", she said...right. Secondly! The battery life on this phone is so poor that using anything in this device can mean the point of having a charged phone or having a completely useless dead phone. I don't like having to bring a charger with me everywhere I go for the day so later I will have to wait, sit down at the nearest coffee Batista or grocery store and wait some more so that I can get on to whatever I'm doing. Last, I have had this phone replaced time and time again to finally fork out money to get the HTC One in hopes that all this bad will go away with the next model. To sum it all up, this phone is barely comparable to a phone at any rate. More annoying than helpful.

I upgraded when my AT&T contract with my iphone 3G was up. The first thing I noticed was the size of the screen. Massive by comparison. The sound quality was also excellent and I was able to transfer my music library easily from my PC. Main reason I chose to switch to Android was to increase the memory via SD card. I was going to praise the speech to text feature, but in writing this review it erased my comments at least 5 times so I will forget that. The camera is so good I now use it instead of my 12mp Sanyo.

This phone is a pure nightmare, after having a HTC Inspire, this phone is like a .25 piece of bubble gum, nothing but problems everyday, nothing is ever solved. Needless to say I will never purchase another HTC product again. Battery is horrible, messaging is horrible not a good thing to say at all about this phone it needs to be taken off of the market.

I got this phone on Nov 13 2012. Since then I have had five of the same phones. It started with the charger end on the phone not charging. And every time they send me a replacement it works for a couple of days then back to the same problem.I dont recommend this phone to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by dnewton Can't wait to get a different phone!
I had the HTC Vivid for barely 6 months and started having problems. If you own this phone, you know it charges very fast. well, mine stopped charging and when I would try to charge it, the screen would go black and get staticy and flash on and off. I took it to the AT&T store near me and was told it was my battery so I got a new one in the mail. The battery wouldn't work. Mind you, throughout this entire process, I used several different charges, several different outlets-nothing. After trying to get it to charge for a week and nothing, I ordered a replacement. I got the replacement in January and since then, nothing but problems. The messaging doesn't work half of the time, it over heats very very very fast. at one point, it was 103*. & that happens with or without my otter box. the screen goes blank, it turns itself off more often then not and most of the time, it won't turn itself back on. I can't wait to get rid of this phone and I highly doubt I will ever have another HTC. I have the Vivid now and I used to have the Inspire- not impressed!

This is a great phone! I've had it for almost two years and it is still working great! The os is very smooth and fast. Almost never have any issues with this phone, but there is one certain issue though. The prongs that connect the battery to the phone have gotten pushed into the phone, so now every no and then I have to take a pencil and pull them out for the phone to use. Other then that no issues! Great phone HTC

I loved this phone for the first year, then I dropped it four inches on to the kitchen table and the screen cracked. After that everything seemed to get worse. the back wouldnt stay on the camera wouldnt always work. Then the day my son was born when i need the camera the most it quit working. It won't turn on, charge or do anything. I don't know if it is the battery or not but it shouldnt act like this.. I would recommend this phone to anyone that is only going to use it for a year and gets a really good phone case..

This phone is terrible! It freezes, the sounds horrible, the screen is smaller than what you think, and this is my 3rd time getting this phone because it wont charge, and only on part of my head phone plays music , and its a new pair at that. I've tried plenty of head phones and none of them seem to work.

This is the worst phone I have ever had the displeasure of being stuck with. It pretty much decides if it wants to charge or not. Certain chargers don't work at all. Sometimes I will plug it in, it will start charging, and then randomly change it's mind. Every time the phone restarts it has to go through and upgrade every single app, making the start up process take about 5 minutes. Not to mention, I go through the start up process constantly, because the battery life is abysmal. It even uses more battery when starting then the charger can provide. So if it dies and you plug it in you have to wait like an hour before you can start it again. The automatic screen brightness setting does not work making me have to set it manually depending upon whether I am inside or outside. + when I am outside the screen has to be at full bright to see anything, which makes the battery last all of 10 minutes. 0/10

I have had the Vivid for a week now, using 4GLTE and the name is very fitting. The screen is Vivid better that my HD TV. I enjoy having a front facing camera now for all those wonderful self-portraits. I easily put my 32GB microSD card in and once I setup my gmail all my apps from my previous HTC Inspire were waiting for me. I love how much you can customize this device, wallpapers, apps, screens. One of my favorite features is taking the screens for a spin and watching them orbit like a planet. It is easy to get to my battery which last the entire day. My signal is strong no matter where I am but I'm sure that is due to the service provider. I love that I can look at my phone and just see the weather, no need to download any apps. HTC's own marketplace is filled with great apps, and now I can even get suggestions. The only issue I had was once I put my sim in I had mutiple contact entries for the same contacts. Overall great phone I am happy with my new device and look forward to the next upgrade. (maybe all HTC phones will get the Beat Audio Technology)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by rreyes Best Dual Core Phone Ever
This is bar-none the best dual core phone out there. The potential this phone has is so significant and unrecognized it's simply ridiculous.
With some read-up online, you can improve the quality of the camera to that of a 14MP camera. The sound quality that can be derived to that of a brand new Shure microphone. The video is so crisp.
The 1.2ghz is a joke for this phone. Do your homework and unlock the bootloader, drop WildChild recovery on it and root and s-off this baby and you'll be comfortably overclocking this phone to 2.0ghz. These brand new quad core phones don't even touch 2ghz.
The dev-community is huge and is quick to address any problems. All in all, get this phone and do some read-up online and give this phone 1 night of work and you'll have a phone that out-phones others for the next 2 years.
Did I mention I run Android v1.1 JB?(; Two apps on one screen, no lag? Yea. The vivid is a good buy.
