My husband bought a Samsung skyrocket so I decided to get a different one. So I bought this HTC vivid. Overall this is very nice and I didn't mind the heavy feel of the phone. The screen is nice and big, phone is fast, speaker is ok, and I liked that the HTC gives you extra wallpapers and skins from their website. BUT i returned the phone after 2 days. The only reason I returned it was because I didn't like the way they design the contacts (or what they call 'people'). I'm used to the contacts and call history are on different tabs so i can easily find what I want. But HTC puts call history on top of the contact list to make it a HUGE list (of course you can delete the call history everytime after you make a phone call). And the font is very small so makes it even harder to find what I want. Maybe it's just me. I couldn't get used to that design so I returned it and got the same phone as my husband. And I agree with the other reviewer, I wish the focus of the camera could be a little bit faster. To be honest, i think Samsung has better design and is better than HTC. But I'll still recommend this phone to anyone who doesn't mind the design of the contacts.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by cuddles2009 The BEST Phone I have EVER had
When it was time for an upgrade, i decided i would look on here to see reviews about phones that i liked. I looked at this phone and instantly fell in love so i went out to get it... They were out of stock in a store close to me so i drove out to get one.... i talked with the people and i got my phone.
I use my phone a lot for texting and getting online to check Facebook... so far a GREAT job on AT&T's part.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Janamsetty Phone with Good features
This is having all good features and runs with Anorid Icecream. Only Issue I see is with the batterry life, It drys battery very quickly with in 2 days of ideal use ( using for 2 - 3 call 10 min each) in case of playing games the battery drys in 30 min itself.
Apart from Battery life all other features and internet acess is good and Picture quality is very good.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Drains72 Excellent phone and especially for the price!!
I have been a smartphone user since they came out and have had one of every brand I think. As soon as the DROID came out, I was one of the first to pick one up and have had a phone with Android OS ever since. I have tried the Apple OS and am just not a fan like many others are, the Android is way better in my opinion.
This phone is quite remarkable I think, the display is absolutely the best I have ever used. It is extremely clear and the colors are amazing. Best so far on any phone I've had!!
The camera is amazing, even in low light the pics come out looking like they were taken with a real camera and not a phone, very impressive!!!
I love the SENSE software because I have always downloaded apps to personalize my phones but, with this phone you can do anything and everything you could imagine to make it appealing and operable for you.
The speed of the 4G LTE is really fast, I happen to purchase it in Houston while being there for work and was lucky enough to experience this, because I hear they are one of the few to get it first. It is actually faster than being hooked up to the hardline on my laptop at the hotel I'm staying at. It's just awesome!!
The overall design and feeling of the phone is a very elegant and classy look, perfect for the professional and the everyday smartphone user as well.
The only downfall that I can see is the battery life, but with all phones of this quality these days it is about the same. I have to charge it after work to be able to continue using it, but I use it a lot and couldn't really expect anything more considering all that it is capable of performing.
I definitely recommend this phone for anybody who wants an all around awesome phone that performs great and looks amazing!!

the battery life really really bad. I dislike it with a deep burning passion. I will have charged it fully in the morning then after not really using it all day, its battery will be half gone. I have tried turning off the wifi but that only helps a little. The battery is sooooo sensitive to being dropped. It will take a tap from a inch off the ground and it turns off a resets. The reset takes forever. It does freeze like once a month. And then u have to take out the battery. The size its big and takes up a lot of pocket room. But, the screen is nice and big. It is bigger then an iPhone screen. The speaker is loud. It has Beats audio, and even if you dont have Beats it sounds amazing. So its an ok phone but can get very frustrating

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Calkad Great Phone!
This phone will always be my favorite phone. I have always been a big fan of android but they really out done there self on this phone. The camera let me just say is amazing! I normally don't take many pictures but its nice to no I have a 8 meg. rear camera with 1080p video. (front camera is good to 1.3 meg.) The battery life is not the best but there is a app called ''Juice Defender'' you can download which turns off data when you lock the screen so it saves me data and battery! The 4.5 in. LCD screen is amazing when indoors or in shade but with a otterbox on in direct sun light it can be hard to see. When you purchase the phone it is pre-installed with android 2.3 (gingerbread) but in January 2012 they will be releasing android 4.0 (IceCreamSandwich) for this phone. Over all I would tell any off my friends this is better than skyrocket and IPhone.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by AmandaG84 This is an increadilbe phone with a beautiful display. A nice solid feel to it. It feels very solid in your hand. And the simple cut/slim design lets you have a really good grip on it. A very nice speaker with clear sounds. battery life can be long if you know how to treat it like most smartphones now a days. The camera is beautiful and doesnt even stick out, unlike other android phones which can make it more vulnerable for damge. (neither does the Dual LED flash). Powerd with a dual core 1.2 GHz proccerser and 1G of ram,and not to metion the 4G LTE capable speeds, this phone is a smart phione powerhouse loaded with tons of pros. I recomened it to any smartphone user.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by sonicfeather Love this phone! Great job HTC!
More pros than cons here. I love this phone!
Battery life withint the HTC world has left a little to be desired, but this phone improved on that.
Great camera, Great voice/call quality, brilliant display, even outdoors in full sunlight. The only drawbacks in my personal use of this phone are the speaker volume and the bloatware attached to it. I'm jumping from this to a One X, but I will keep this phone around on an additional line just because I've grown that attached to it.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Veronica83 I loved it....now I regret it!
I purchased this phone new on July 9th. Received two days later. I really got into the features of this phone. The face recognition security software, Beats Audio, great apps, fast internet/surfing. Exactly 33 days after receiving it, the screen started to flicker and then went black.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by kyle98 Alright phone..
This phone was very good when i bought this phone. Then one night it kept telling me that it wasnt connecting to the mobile network. The camera is amazing!! I loved the Beats Audio. Sometimes it froze and i had to take out the battery. Went to the AT&T store cause i was still in my 30 days. Traded it for the LG Nitro. Made a right choice.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Mo234 Nice phone for my first experience with android!
I just upgraded my phone and as someone which has used Blackberry for years it was a tough decision to go with android. I actually purchased the S2 first and returned it. For me, this phone was much easier to use. The screen is amazing and there are a lot of great features and apps. The camera is okay, I actually like the iPhone better for that. The battery life is awful. I have had to buy charges for work just to charge it throughout the day and that is with Wi-Fi turned off and Bluetooth. The speakers are awful. I can barely hear it and if you turn it up too loud it sounds worse. That could definitely be improved. Overall, I like the phone, still adjusting to android.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Grockmobile Poor Battery
Battery time is not good at all. If I talk for 1/2 hour it is down almost a half.
Spell check changes common words too frequently. Solitaire Game cards are too small, barely can read them.
On the good side--Very good display, color, size of screen, calendar scheduling, contact storage. Takes a while to figure it out. Instruction that came with phone very limited.
Yes recommended, with some reservations.

Rated 4 out of 5 Overall great phone with minor snags
I bought the white HTC Vivid about a month ago to replace my beloved Moto Atrix that I had sadly lost. After the first two that I bought had problems (first one had a dead pixel on the screen the day I got it home and the second stopped turning on after 2 weeks of use), I have now had this one for 3 weeks with no problems, and although I miss my Atrix a lot there are lots of things that I LOVE about this phone! So here are the good and the bad of the Vivid:
a) Screen is amazing. Crystal clear, large, bright...videos, photos, websites, everything looks just wonderful! I liked the screen on the Vivid better than that of the Skyrocket.
b) The camera on this phone is one of the best I've seen! Every picture I take looks great. I thought the cam on the Atrix was pretty good but the camera on the Vivid almost makes me not even need a regular digicam. Panorama mode is so handy to have and the cam also takes really good low light photos.
c) HTC Sense is much more user friendly and can be customized to a greater extent than most other manufacturer's Android overlays. I was able to install a pink "skin", change my lock screen, add widgets to lock screen...overall I'm much more impressed with Sense than I was with Motoblur (was ANYONE impressed with Motoblur?). Seems like HTC really puts effort into making Sense look beautiful and be highly customizable and it really shows.
d) The phone is fast. SUPER fast. Everything opens in an instant, everything loads quickly, games and apps move along seamlessly. Only a couple hiccups every now and then, but the processor definitely does a nice job on this phone.
a) I've had several force restarts and random shut downs with this phone. I'm hoping this clears up with the ICS update we are supposed to get soon. I remember having this problem with the Atrix before the Gingerbread update and as soon as the update came the random restarts stopped, so this hopefully won't be a problem forever.
b) BATTERY LIFE!!! Its really bad. My Atrix was pretty bad, but this is just a bit worse. If I am at work and not really touching my phone, the battery will lose about 10% in 4 hours which isn't bad, but in order for this to happen I have to cut off sync, background data, wifi, everything. If I leave any connections on the battery will drain about 10% every hour even with little to no use. If connections are on and I'm using the phone, it will easily drain completely in a matter of a few hours. Its not unworkable, as all smartphones these days have horrible battery life, but just make sure you have a car charger/extra charger around because with regular use the battery will prob only go about 6 hours.
a) I've noticed that many people don't like the heaviness/shape of this phone. Personally, this is one of the reasons I chose it, but can understand that it may not be for everyone. The phone itself does not feel huge or bulky in my hand when I hold it. I have a hard case on it as well and it still doesn't feel as heavy or bulky as some people seem to think it is. I like the fact that the phone feels a bit heavier, because it feels much more well made than some phones. It doesn't feel that heavy in my hand, although noticeably heavier than some phones. However, I wouldn't pass up this phone simply because its a little heavier!
b) Another thing I have noticed is people saying the speaker volume/call volume is poor on this phone. While the call volume could certainly be a bit louder, I haven't had any problems hearing the person on the other end/having them hear me. Same goes with when I have a call on speakerphone. Additionally, when I play music thru the speaker on my phone, it plays at a pretty good volume. The speaker on my Atrix blew this one out of the water, but the Vivid still has a much better speaker than say that of the iPhone (I've literally tested them side by side and the Vivid drowned out the iPhone). I find the speaker and call volume to be just fine, but do see that for some it may just be too quiet.
Overall, I am pretty happy that I chose this phone as a replacement for my Atrix. I can't wait for the ICS update to come out to make this phone even better!!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Deartis I have had my Vivid for about a month and I thought I upgraded from my Blackberry Torch 9800 but the Vivid strongly disappointed me. Before my Torch, I tried an android but I was disappointed. This time, I gave andriod another chance and I was let down yet again. The battery life? There is no such battery life. The camera is an upgrade but I don't take many pictures so it didn't apply to me that much. The volume is so low that at its highest, it is half the sound of my bold. The calls end randomly in a conversation and the internet is very fast but the phone will freeze on a page and have to be force closed. I believe I will return to blackberry while I still have time because my Vivid is a strong disappointment. I would not recomment this phone to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by brownmanjake Phone is very nice, I had the atrix before. My atrix batter would last all day, this phone by 2 or 3 you better find a charger and I don't have near the apps installed on this phone. You need a hearing aid to help hear while on the phone cause the in call volume is very poor. Other than that it is a pretty cool phone.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Bixie Not worth it
I got my Vivid in June and never really cared for it. It was heavy, bulky and constantly did weird things, like tell me I was in a different time zone (PDT rather than EDT) and it changed my ring tone for no reason. By chance, I dropped it and the screen cracked. Because I've been a long-time ATT customer, they graciously sent me a Fusion as a replacement. I am much happier with the Fusion and would recommend it.

I've had two replacement phones, though.. neither have fixed my problems.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Richard107 Great phine with all the features one would want
After 2 years with the HTC Aria, I upgraded to this HTC Vivid. Everything I liked about the Aria is here in the Vivid and much more with a better camera with flash, ability to add 32 GB SD card and more internal phone storage. I have over 200 Cd's stored and all the apps I could possibly use. This coupled with the new LTE speed makes this device more usefull than my home computer. Great procduct from HTC and ATT.
