Rated 5 out of 5Â by nickerrides Almost the perfect phone
This phone is the most near perfect phone ive ever used....
It has a great camera with awesome features, AMAZING speakers and sound quality, an awesome HD screen and probably the most amazing body/construction ive ever seen on a phone.
The software is full of useful features like blink feed and a TV app that utilizes the IR blaster which you dont think you need untill you actually use them.
If i had to point out some flaws with this phone the 1st would be battery life... at least with mine is not the greates. I can make it through a full day with medium to heavy use with screen brightness 75-85%. Thats not bad of course but i wish it got even better battery life like some other phones ive used.
Another flaw would be the button lay out. Now I dont mind the order of the buttons (it took me about 4 days to get used to it) but the lack of a dedicated menu button drives me CRAZY!! with the apps that havent upgraded their design to follow Androids design guidelines you are stuck with 3 software menu buttons at the bottom of the screen and HTC didnt enable the option to enable a long press of the back button to get rid of that :/
BUT with those gripes being said this is still an AMAZING phone. I would recommend it to anyone and its by far the best phone ive used to date.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by mistahsingh There isn't much NOT to like about this phone.
This phone is plain and simply insane. The build is premium, the camera is phenomenal, its jam packed with features, has a snappy processor (games work like a breeze, phone lags rarely), and has a pretty awesome UI. Features that I love using are topped by Sense TV. Being able to control my TV/surround sound system with my phone is awesome. Dual front facing speakers? Awesome sound, blew my mind.
My biggest negative is battery life. I figured by 2013 we could have phones that can get you 24 hours easily. That is not the case. Heavy usage I get around 11-12 hours, medium 16, and if I basically periodically use my phone, then I get the ever elusive 24 hours.
Overall, best phone I've ever used.

The goods outweigh the bad in the One. Overall I would buy this phone again and again over anything out there. I really hope HTC improves the build quality on the "zero gap" claim, and continues to simplify and improve battery and system efficiency. So far though the battery lasts long enough, and Sense 5 is very quick and simple to use. The design is clean and beautiful in just about every aspect. Also it makes iPhone seem like "just a phone".

Rated 5 out of 5Â by FurtiveFalcon Amazing Phone.
This, in my opinion, is the best phone on the market right now. It looks great, it feels great in your hand...
The aluminum construction - sexy, though somewhat delicate. I have a case on mine to protect from dinging and scratching. The curved back feels absolutely great in your hand. It makes the device feel even thinner than it already is.
Front stereo speakers - why hasn't anyone else in the smartphone industry recently thought of this? The stereo sound makes a big difference. The Beats audio processing further enhances the sound. It adds a substance in the lower end. However, the Beats processing does sometimes cause audio glitches in certain apps. I usually disable it when using external speakers or headphones, since I am a bit of an audiophile.
The screen - best I've ever seen. Ever. I've never witnessed a smartphone screen of such high resolution. 1080p! And I had been blown away by 720p. In two years, we'll probably be seeing 4k phone screens...
The combination of a 4-core Snapdragon chip and 2 GB RAM finally allow for multitasking to be done right! The Sense interface is butter-smooth and snappy. The integrated app switcher makes multitasking easy. Everything you do on this phone is fast.
I will note, however, that some older apps actually run worse on this phone than on the older devices that were around when they were introduced. I suppose that they haven't been optimized for the modern processor architecture nor for the operating system.
Battery life through the day is better on this device than my previous (also an HTC device). I do have issues with the phone's battery draining while on standby, but I have rather poor cell service at my house (one bar, -95 to -105dBm). I suppose that is why.
The camera - even though slightly lower resolution than my previous HTC, the pictures are sharper, clearer, and of course, infinitely better in low-light situations. This is proof that megapixels aren't everything. Optics, sensor type/ quality, and other factors are more important than the number of pixels. HTC Zoe adds a great host of features to compliment the large assortment of features available for regular shots. I am impressed that full-resolution photos can be taken while shooting 1080p video! The only thing missing on this camera is optical (physical) zoom.
The only issues I have on this phone are issues that can easily be remedied by software updates and operating system patches. As of my writing this, I am running Android 4.1.2.

Excellent. The best things are -built quality gives premium feel, excellent screen, awesome sound quality and good feel of the product.live the blink feed
The negatives and needs improvement - Home button is essential, android is average OS HTC should add their own customisation to top it off, HTC specific apps r required and android update comes very slowly to HTC unlike Samsung.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by 2CheyChey Best phone ever out of the box, but hardware quickly showing obvious flaws.
As soon as you open the package you're in awe of this beautiful piece of machinery that sits before you. That warm fuzzy "first time opened an Apple box" feeling. It's the perfect size, weight, shape, smooth as butter, and fast as lightning. Then about two months in you start feeling that butter getting hard and jagged on the edges. Like someone left it uncovered in the fridge for way too long. When you discover the dreaded gaps. It's starting to open up in places it's advertised not to open up. It still runs like a beast, but I'm wondering how much wider are the gaps going to get, and if HTC is going to replace it for me. Great phone, but it's gotta last more than 6 months...

I upgraded from the Motorola Atrix HD to the One and haven't looked back. This phone is great. Took it to an outdoor rock concert and the video capture was outstanding, I could hear people right next to me, the music and lyrics all at the same time and they sounded fantastic. The camera features are awesome, sequence shot is a must for anyone with kids. The screen is brilliant. The resolution is great and the colors are great, not over saturated. The processor on the phone makes it hum with literally no lag. I love the fact that you can essentially have 3 different android options with the blinkfeed, normal android, and a very ios like almost simple mode. The phone feels great in my hand, not cheap but something well put together. The one very minor gripe I have is that sometimes hitting the home or back buttons are difficult due to their size and proximity to the touch screen. Other than that I have no issues with the phone. I've been an Android user for years, and had other HTC phones before, now I can remember why. This is a great phone and recommend it to anyone.

Best phone out there. Was waiting for the galaxy s4, but when I saw this phone and it's premium aluminum shell, design, performance, and features I was sold. Only thing that galaxy beats this phone at is it's camera, not to say the Ones camera is terrible it it great in low lighting but when in daylight the photos are not as detailed as the galaxy's and the pictures look a little cartoonish. I really hope HTC continues making phones as great as this one.

I have never loved a phone as much as I love this one and I did not want a full touch screen phone. I was in need of a phone and was using an HTC Status, which I loved but I was very limited. I love music and taking photos. The front speakers are awesome, the camera takes impressively great quality photos! I love that I can customize the look and use of my phone. It is easy to use and set up. I am so happy with this phone. I am an HTC fan for life.

I previously had the HTC EVO 4G LTE and when it died, I received this phone instead! I LOVE this phone, although the screen size is the same as my old EVO, the processor kills it! It runs so smoothly and the camera is OUTSTANDING. I recommend this phone to anyone! (if only sprint had LTE in Phoenix....)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by dbr270 This IS the phone you're looking for
There's so much to love about this device, I won't be able to list it all. Here are the biggest features:
1. The sound is amazing. Even if you only occasionally watch video or music, you never have to worry about cupping your hand behind the device to be able to hear. It all comes at you in glorious stereo sound. Why didn't they think of this sooner?!
2. Everything looks great on this full HD screen. It has accurate color and temperature reproduction. It isn't over-saturated like other top brands.
3. This device feels great! Every time you pick it up, it makes you smile. The simplistic, minimalist design is very aesthetically pleasing.
4. Sense 5. I bought and HTC because of Sense. It is very clean and looks great. For me, it's all about the widgets, and HTC has always had the best default widget packages. This holds true with Sense 5 and the HTC One.
Cons: There aren't many, but....
1. Camera. I like the low light abilities, but I wish it was the camera off the One X+. It does not do as good with color saturation, and HDR is not nearly as good as it was on the One X+. I'm doing a lot more post processing with my photos.
2. The app drawer is really confusing. I want to be able to drag an app to the dock AND have it show up in both places. However, once you drag it out of the app drawer, it is only in the dock.
It all comes down to this: This is the best phone you can buy today!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Seanes Better than many others I have seen.
The HTC ONE really got it down with the all metal case which means that it won't crack or chip if it got treated roughly. Larger screen for better viewing and in 1080p with front facing speakers that no other company has done which makes total sense. A ton of features that are very useful in a slim sleek design. Battery life far surpasses all the rest and prom power on to complete boot up is amazing. I have not seen any other phone do what this does hands down. Other than that I did wish it allowed for a micro sd card for additional storage even though 32gb is a lot for on board memory.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by PhoneyTechnologist Exceptional All-In-One Package
I love everything on this phone - with one VERY minor exception (which I will get to)...
I had been on various iterations of iPhones, and many smart phones before Apple announced their product lines. The learning curve was a it consuming on this phone. I like things how I like them. Don't make me use it your way - I want to use it my way. This is all very possible with the HTC One, but it takes some doing. Your experience with the phone will mature over a very reasonably short period of time.
So, the one item I do not like... The power switch location is inconvenient. This switch turns the screen on and off, as well as turning the power on and off. As a right-handed person, the location on the top left of the phone is a bit inconvenient. I find that I need to take it out of the car-mount bracket just to turn the phone's screen on or off. Rather annoying - and this is hardware, not something that I can tweak or modify. It is what it is. With all the benefits of this phone, I can cope!

Looks and feels great, but the buggy phonebook is turning me off. For some reason the phone's internal contact list decided to self-erase leaving me with useless Facebook contacts without phone numbers. Now I'm left with Lookout Security's lousy backup restore that floods my phone with junk social media duplicate entries. BOOOO

My first HTC and absolutely love the one hands down. Exceeded my expectations for quality and the thought that went into this one. The slow motion replay on the camera out performed a several thousand dollar unit that was designed for troubleshooting, You can actually hear the audio since it faces the front. For me, I like the blinkfeed. Select your sources and it's right there up front when you're ready to view it.
No buyers remorse here.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Sandman313 The best smartphones ever made to date!
This year HTC has definitely stepped up to the plate, and made a more competitive, stunning, powerful phone! For years HTC has lacked in marketing their wonderful phones to a wide audience, but the One has showed so many people that HTC can make a phone that truly is "everything your phone isn't". Let me explain by talking about 5 key features:
-The HTC UltraPixel Camera: One thing I love about HTC is that it loves to be different and take risks. While megapixels have set the bar for smartphones, HTC has decided to focus on the creating a camera that allows 300% more light, a better image sensor, and cutting edge imaging tools. The result is a camera that takes fantastic photos!
-HTC Zoe: Very unique to the One. It's a cool way to really bring that dull photo gallery to life. I love how it turns a slideshow of your photos into a cinematic production!
-HTC BlinkFeed: Isn't it better when you can see everything on one screen? Not only does it combine all your social media together, but you have the ability to add news and entertainment sources as well, which truly makes the home screen on your phone feel like a social hub.
- HTC BoomSound: These literally are the best speakers that you will ever hear on a phone. The Beats Audio makes a big difference. Just that simple.
-HTC Sense: If there is anything that sets apart HTC from the rest, it is definitely Sense! One of the main reasons why I only buy HTC! Sense is truly unique to HTC, and it's a one of a kind user interface. From widgets to social media, it really defines integration and customization to a whole new level!
On top of all that amazing stuff, the One is simply the most elegantly designed phones available. The full metal body makes it look like a piece of art. So many people have complimented my phone just on looks! But looks is only half of it. It's also a powerhouse underneath all that metal, running a 1.7 Ghz Snapdragon quad-core processor with 2 GB of ram! This definitely makes the phone one of the fastest on the market. Multitasking is done with ease. The screen is gorgeous, and makes those photos and videos look crystal clear.
Even though this phone is great, I do have some suggestions to make the next One better! The camera is amazing, but could be improved to take pictures during night. As a fan of HTC Sense, I was a little disappointed that many widgets were removed, and the whole 3D experience was gone. That was one of my favorite parts about my HTC Sensation.
That's my summary of one of my favorite phones I have ever owned! I've stuck with HTC since the T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream). The reason I still love to is that HTC brings something new to the table, something unique, something different. I definitely recommend this phone! You will love it. Already anticipating for the next One!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by TMANOFKELLER Truly a work of art on HTC's Behalf
Before my htc evo V4G i had an lg optimus elite and it was awful...slow, no processing power, no memory space whatsoever, overall a garbage phone, next up was the HTC Evo V4G. This was my first phone to feature a dual core but unfortunately it was at the time of purchase already three years old in design and features...it became obsolete very quickly, but i can't knock it completely, its 3D camera was a real treat, again it was somewhat glitchy and i quickly lost interest in it. I have waited ever so long to get an HTC One, i have wanted one since they were released back in april. Now on to the real review of the one. If i could use any sentence to describe this device it would most certainly say "HTC One, The phone that saved HTC" The quality is impeccable, while i did find some very minor gaps, my otterbox defender series case hides it very well so no problem there. The beats audio and front facing speakers is truly a sight and sound to behold, it offers clean and crisp sound quality and just gives it that "Oomph" you are looking for that other devices do have. Battery life is great for the power this device throws out, infact, i can get through the average work day (8:00AM - 5:00PM) with just between 19-27% of the battery remaining! The screen is gorgeous, it just has a feel to it that says it is a flagship phone and is a must have!! Its delicate though, of you are a person who drops their phone very frequently or at all for that matter, i would highly consider the Otterbox Defender series case for your HTC One as well as a scratch resistant screen protector (Put the plastic screen protector on first, and then equip the otterbox) Overall? Its a work of art and it is indeed worth every penny! Get one if you do not already have one! Let me arrest any fears you have of getting one, if you get one through contract, you are going to enjoy the next two years or however long your contract is!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Retrotexas My two months with the One
I absolutely enjoy this phone ( I am actually writing the review from it). Two months of use and I still find new features and use. The camera to me couldn't be much more awesome. The built-in filters and editing software make it a breeze to share images on the fly. Zoe makes action shots fun, and capturing stills from the video makes finding a great shot simple. Boomsound rocks! I think the standard has been set for all phones moving forward, watching video would never be the same without it.calls are clear as spring water too. I have just one issue ,the battery. Either it doesn't have great longevity or I need to tweak some settings. In either case this is one great companion and I wouldn't give it up.

This phone is simply just amazing. Just got it this week but i love it. I had the S3 and even the s4 for a little while but i gkt tired of their defective phones and flimsy phones i felt like my samsung would break. This phone is solid. From now on ill stick to htc. I also noticed that the batter of the One lasts longer than my previously owned s4 active and s3. The camera wihout a doubt surpasses any other phone. And this phone is just as fast as any other flagship phones out there. The power saver is also very useful and effective unlike samsungs in which i need to install other battery saving apps. I love the design also and the speaker just wows me. Best phone on the market right now. I could see that htc put a lot of effort on this phone and it deserves better.

Look and Feel: Everything is good until it heats up, cant hold it in hands while its overheaded

I bought an HTC Hero from sprint the day it came out and I loved it. It was an excellent phone and far outperformed my expectations. The software HTC puts on their phones is light and enjoyable. It's not the feature packed sledgehammer of Samsung's Galaxy series and is all the better for it. The best parts of this phone are the little details that lend to the ease of use. I love the option to use the bottom bar icons to unlock the phone into whichever program you flicked up. It's a fantastic sounding and looking phone as well. It was an excellent replacement to my old Nexus S and stayed true to my love of my old HTC.
