Love it!! I've had this phone for just over a year now. I've loved every moment. What's been surprising to me is how durable it is. I have literally dropped or thrown this phone around several times and it still just carries on going. It's become a little bit messed now and bluetooth and wireless no longer work as well as they should. But if it had been a iPhone or a Galaxy I'm pretty sure it would no longer be functioning. What I've generally heard from others in terms of compliments was how light it was and that they liked the pictures it took. One of the only complaints I have is battery life. April 25, 2013
The HTC One X is a bundle of fun! The more I use it, the more I like it. I waited to get what I thought was a good Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone, and found it in the HTC One X. It is the total package of quality, WOW factor, and fun. PROS: Very high quality build/feel/look. Nice looking. Big, beautiful screen. Interface, once learned, is very useable and configurable. Easily transferred all old contacts/calendars from iPhone/Google.. Great camera with many features. Very good battery life (lasts all day and more with heavy use and two days with brightness set to medium and usual usage). Very fast. (forget the quad core hangup, the Snapdragon processor, well... snaps) LTE capable. (soon in Seattle) All the apps I used for previous phone (a very popular non-Android device) I'm able to get for my HTC One X, except for one bridge scorepad app. Love the Dropbox feature for cloud storage. Laments about the on board memory aren't a factor for me, and the Dropbox cloud storage is a definite plus. Fun to use, and makes you smile when you do use it. It impresses your friends too. Lightweight, easy to hold and use. Love the wi-fi hot spot capability, which I elected to add. Speech recognition is fabulous. Instead of trying to type notes, I dictate them. It's incredibly fast and accurate. Face recognition is very nice. I use it all the time. CONS: Learning curve. Have to get used to this device and the Android system, but once the different interface is learned, it's great. Ear buds are not provided for audio jack. Hearing aid setting causes the call hearing to become non-functional. May 14, 2012
My 8th HTC and the best so far I have been a loyal HTC user for many years and the HTC ONE X (AT&T version) has surpassed expectations for a new device with a new OS and Sense version. After years of sluggish cameras with mediocre resolution, we now have a camera that is quick, accurate and produces pictures you can proudly display in a frame. The display is the first of all my 'smart phones' that I can read in bright sunlight. Now I can actually SEE what I am taking pictures of! I can read SMS at the ball field and use the maps while biking! There have been lots of negativity about the lack of a removable battery, I have not had any issues with battery life. Typically I have 2/3 left when I plug it in for the night. On a drain test I got well over 48 hours with normal business use. Overall a great job HTC! May 14, 2012
Fantastic The One X is a beautiful piece of hardware - from the screen, to the case, to the camera and the shots it takes. The screen's got some super vibrant colors, and the resolution is unbelievably high. Half the time I use the phone, i'm just flipping through screens and pictures because I just love looking at it. I got the white One X - and it feels great in the hand. It's light enough to not be a bother (for such a large screen), and very thin. Since it's so thin, it also doesn't look ridiculous in my pants pocket. It doesn't have a removable battery (which is problematic in some cases) but it leads to the phone having almost no seams around it. The camera is of course a high point - shots are taken really quickly, and a lot of HTC's custom camera firmware makes it work pretty well. I have no problems using this as my go to daily point and shoot, and the results have all been great. A few minor setbacks - it's sometimes a little bit difficult to handle because the phone is so large. Being able to reach the power button, for instance, is tough because my index finger is not long enough to reach over the top of the phone to hit the button on the front edge. Also in a departure from what seems to be the norm, there are no included headphones. The phone itself, though, is beautiful, and any owner will definitely have people asking about it and wanting to try it. May 14, 2012
HTC One X in a Class All by Itself. I really like the HTC One X. The design is thin, I like the rounded corners. The screen real estate it big enough to watch a video without giving a look of a mini-tablet. I have quite a few apps running smoothly on my device without any lag. I can quickly multi-task by talking on the phone while finishing up an email or text (not while driving of-course). The speaker phone which I do utilize while driving has a clear connection without feed back. I love that I can un-lock my phone while checking my make-up with face matching (patterns are so last year). I also like android beam and I can't wait to find someone other than my husband to use it with. phone storage shows 9.93GB total and you can't upgrade but I haven't seen an issue so far with having just 10GB. I also like the fact that I don't have need to remove the battery nor do I ever want to, like doing my own tune-up on my car. I want to enjoy taking 25 pictures at once, then downloading them to Dropbox for safe keeping or Facebook and Instagram. I REALLY LOVE the HTC One X, I have the white one and I truly feel like I have the best smartphone on the market right now. If you are due for an upgrade I recommend the HTC One X! May 14, 2012
Definitely beats ANY other smartphone!!!! The phone is absolutely brilliant. All of it's features are top notch, including the screen, camera, and Beats Audio integration. The battery life is the best I have seen out of an Android phone. Mine has already gone 25 hours without a charge, and it still had 18% battery left. The battery isn't the largest though, it's only 1800mah (there are other phones with larger batteries). The design is excellent, but I have had some problems with the camera. The camera on my One X rattles when the phone is shaken. Also, if the camera tries to focus on something that is generally close, the phone will focus on the object, make a loud click, and then loose focus...I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but it has not caused any major issues because it usually only happens if the object is less than 3 inches away. The performance of this phone is excellent. The Dual-Core Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm is the best processor I have seen in any phone. It is extraordinarily fast, and I have had ZERO lag issues. There are some issues where the phone freezes a bit, but that is due to excessive load on the processor and usually clears up within 5 seconds. I will recommend this phone to everybody I know and will buy nothing but HTC Android phones from this point on! May 15, 2012
HTC One X gets it - mostly This isn't the first HTC phone I've owned and so far, I've had great experiences with each. However I often get called back to my iPhone, partically because of the quality of design. This is the first Android phone I've ever owned that feels up to that level of quality and craftmanship. Everything from a lack of gaps and spaces on the outside of the phone to the excellent viewing angles of the screen scream professionalism and good engineering. The first time I saw the LED shine through the grille on the front I instantly knew someone had spent time designing this to look good. The phone itself is easy to use and fast to set up. While I'm not usually a fan of Sense, the UI overlay on the top of HTC phones, this one really detracts little from the experience. Once set up, the phone was fast, far faster than any Android phone I've ever owned. Opening files, checking emails, everything was smooth and quick. This is the first Android phone where I didn't feel like I needed to walk someone through how to use it. They can pick it up and figure it out. I still wish there was a tighter integration between the apps and Sense. The change in themes and fonts looks strange and I am less and less sure about the necessity of Sense in an ICS world. Stock Android is getting so good and polished I'm less sold on the argument we need to put something on top of that. This hardware is good enough to stand on its own. The camera is excellent and has already replaced my point and shoot for on the town picture. The picture capture is fast and editing the images is easy. The camera does an awesome job of not only capturing your photos but also allowing you to share them easily across really any social network. The thing I don't like about the camera is how the phone rests on the edge of it when placed on a table. It looks tacky and makes me nervous about putting the phone on a table or desk, which is not the best thing. This is a small complaint and something I understand because the quality of camera means it requires more space. I would have loved to have this quality though in a camera that was flush with the back, even if the total depth of the phone had to be expanded out to support it. My biggest complaint is the size. I understand bigger is the new trend, but I just don't see why. I love my Desire Z because the screen is big enough to let me see what I need to see without being so large as to be ridiculous or uncomfortable in my pocket. It also makes the keyboard more difficult to use. My standard posture when typing on my phone is to have the phone in the same hand as I am typing with and this screen is too large to allow me to actually reach the far row with my thumb. It means I have to bring both hands to the phone to type most things and I don't like that. The other complaint I have is smaller, but still relevant. Looking at the take-downs of this phone, I've seen the design compromises that HTC had to make for this level of build quality. I don't care about the lack of SD card slot, but the sealed in battery worries me. It makes the phone disposable as neither I nor the technicians at the AT&T store are going to be able to pop in a new battery. Now it would have been impossible to make this phone with such a nice build with a removable battery, but the internals should have been cleaner so technicians could at least replace the battery in the field.
