i had the HTC One V since The beginning of 2013 and i have to say it's a pretty good phone. But the thing is don't EVER lose that back piece. If you lose it you will lose all of your signal it happen to me. But other that it a good phone! To complete it, it just needs a front camera. Good Phone!

I got this phone for Christmas, my very first one! I love it, I take a lot of pictures and they always end up great! I have no problems with the games, although my reception is horrible sometimes, but that's only because my school's wireless messes up the signal. I love taking videos and I have no problems with video or pictures. My battery life is amazing, it can last up to two days without charging by alternating brightness settings so for those who have bad battery power, I don't understand what is going on. One thing for all, do not leave your phone in the bathroom, its not all that great with water. I love this phone and when my contract is up, I don't think I will switch my phone, I like this one too much!

It takes a lot to get me to love a phone, and even the iPhone has yet to win me over, but the HTC One V Is one of the best phones I've ever had, and I've had a lot of phones! It's easy to use, conveniently small, and overall great quality. I've had this phone for almost a year, and haven't had a single issue with it yet!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by PinSF Poor Buggy Software dooms this phone
While the HTC One is a fine piece of hardware, the software is really poorly done; it is not intuitive and fails to function much of the time. Synching with a PC is very difficult and the HTC One synch software repeatedly fails to work. The camera function is odd and difficult to use. Basic functionality like picking up the location of a call costs extra. The user documentation is limited and not very helpful. Overal I really dislike this phone -- I am very computer literate and this phone is just a disaster.

I am very pleased w/ this phone. It has a lot of quality features & excellent 'use-ability'. Compared to the $399 & up models this phone is impressively equal or better. I am an IT guy so I don't use the 'online' features as much as most people but I have noticed the battery will last a LOT longer if you simply turn off your 'mobile network' when you are not using it...Also this practice is more secure. I'm having a lot of fun w/ this phone & to date I haven't seen another I would rather have.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Grumpysmurf Close but no cigar
Generally I like this phone, but I've really noticed performance starting to degrade. The the interface having delays and getting laggy at times. My biggest disappointment is that it can't be upgraded to Android Jelly bean which has a lots of minor improvements that would help this phone. And so it's effectively obsolete after less than 1 year. If this phone had 1GB of ram and could be upgraded I think it would be an excellent phone.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Swann Basic Phone
If you're looking for a very basic phone with next to no social networking or gaming, this is it. It performs the basic tasks just fine. But the moment anything else is running in the background, it's unusable. The fact that it is sold with an overly outdated version of Android and HTC has said they will not be updating it just doesn't make sense. HTC says it is because of the limitations on the phone; HTC Sense bogs down the phone so much that it already runs slow with the old Android on it. If HTC Sense weren't installed, it could run newer Android without a problem.
Bottom Line: If you want a basic phone, go for it. If you want to be able to do anything else, Get something else. This one won't be supported for many popular apps in a short while since it's 2 versions of Android back.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by JimF Not working after 7 months
Bought the One V back in Dec ember 2012. This is the first Android phone I have purchased. Seemed to be the best phone available from the provider with the best plan in my area. Until yesterday my biggest complaint was that the processor seemed to be quite slow when transitioning from page to page while using the internet. All of a sudden, yesterday, the phone stopped accessing the provider network. It seems that there is a huge issue with the One line of HTC phones having SIM card problems (nothing holds the card in tight). As if that wasn't bad enough, it seems that the problem is with the hardware in the phone, and it needs to be returned to HTC for repairs. This phone was not dropped on a hard surface or into water, in fact, I was using it to access the internet when it stopped working. This is my only phone; this was also used as my home phone so now I have nothing to use. I live in a small town and now have to drive a distance to return the phone to a kiosk. Quite an inconvenience for anyone. I guess I'll have to let everyone know how good the HTC warranty and service is when everything is done.

Rated 5 out of 5 HTC One V: Excellent, durable, unique and stylish looking mobile phone. Serves my personal and professional needs...It's PERFECT !
HTC One V:
8 months later and I am still lovin' it!
After months of painful and research that seemed to get me more and more confused, and ......an endless wait for the 'right' buy for my 15k to 20k phone in Mumbai, India, I was introduced to the HTC One V.
When the HTC counter sales-person showed me the phone and explained its features, I simply fell in love with it. The decision to purchase the phone was instantaneous !!! ....NOT Impulsive.
The HTC One V design was unique and fresh! Its body is made of a single piece thus providing the device the durability I was hoping for.
The price, the look and feel, the screen clarity, touch-response, sleek body (not thick), its durability and the portability (easily fits into the pocket) for me scored much higher and way above tablet phones.
One regret that the box did not contain the user guide, although all models sold have it, for some strange reason mine came without it. However, for an advanced user like me, this was just a formality.
Since its purchase, I have downloaded loads of android applications and other stuff, and the phone works perfectly!
Accessories such as screen guard and a water resistant plastic phone cover were not available at the time of purchase, but a month later I bought both of these genuine HTC One V accessories, and the phone still looks Gr8!!
I needed an excellent, durable, unique and stylish looking mobile phone that would serve my personal and professional needs ........ The HTC One V was just perfect !

Rated 2 out of 5Â by jibarra85 Malfunction
I have had problems with the HTC One V numerous times. Its a little bit slow at times, other times it malfuction, and sometimes I feel like breaking it. Some of the actions take a while to take affect, and no I'm not talking about surfing the internet. I'm talking about simple functions like an alarm clock that comes standartd on the phone. At days it won't go off and other times it does that makes it very irritating. I had a LG Optimus C before the HTC One V and I was impress at the qualities and features it has compared to the LG Optimus C, but after a couple of months I realize little by little how much it malfunctions. Other functions like answering the phone sending text, receiving text, making calls, apps not working were blame on third parties or service provider. One more thing, the company replace my old phone because of this issues, and now my new phone has the same problems. I tell you this I can't recall a single day the LG Optimus C's alarm didn't went off.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by ronzzz Strong contender for a budget smartphone!
My first htc experience was with a Wildfire S (I still have it)! My brother seeing the love I had for my htc, decided to get one for himself. He & I ended up getting a One V. The feel and look of the phone is marvellous. My bro finally got to experience what owning a htc is like :D Right from texting to listening music, the quality was authentic with a beautiful interface. HTC Sense is a winner and a huge benefit over the other smartphones. All in all, I'm always going to stick on to the htc family and recommend my friends circle as well. Long live htc =D \m/

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Larry19 Lag time is long
This phone looks and feels great but the lag time for it to complete a operation is unbelievably long. As I am writing this I am still waiting for it to load my contacts. Ever function seems to be a great feat for this phone and many times it has timed out because even the phone thinks that it is taken too long to retrieve information. Every time you go into the messages it take a few moment for the names to appear normally just the number. But I read some of the other review and there may be a possibility that I have a defective phone I will go and find out.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by nmuntz CONSTANTLY running out of space!!
I should have listened to the Koodo salesperson when they seemed hesitant to sell me this phone but I was taken by the sleek look of this phone on the shelf. It looked like it performed well. Well, it does... except when you want to add anything onto it! Like right now my phone is telling me I'm running out of space and I need to remove some stuff or I won't be able to receive messages. And then gives me a list of what's installed, and sorts from highest to lowest space hogs.... ALL the default garbage that I don't use (Twitter, etc) is at the top, and you can't uninstall! All you can do is "uninstall updates" and I'm not sure why I'd bother doing that. Most of it also can't be moved to the $30 storage card I purchased specifically so storage wasn't a problem - oops, yes it is because so much stuff can't be located on the storage card. I even run space-recovery programs on this thing constantly and yet, keep getting told "you're nearly out of space, empty stuff out now or else!" Sadly I still owe about $100 on the phone at the moment so moving to another one is out of the question. When I do, it won't be another HTC.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by HTCOneV786 HTC One V's problems, should be fixed.
My problems with HTC One V
OK, so the following are the problems I have with my One V (PLEASE SOLVE NO. 1, 4, 6 FIRST!):
1. The Stock Messages App.
The stock Messages app on my One V got slower and slower and now it takes about 1 minute to open a conversation.
Moreover, if I want to send a message to someone, the contact name never appears when I type his/her name in the recipient text box.
To send a message, I have to open any conversation which I have in my Inbox and then when it opens up, I have to again go to compose message and then everything works fine. What's the problem?
2. Cannot view vCard Files.
When I open a VCF File, it asks for 'Contact under account'. And when I select one, all the contacts automatically get copied to the selected account. I want to view the contacts in my vCard file before copying them. How to do so?
3. It's Super Laggy
Now it's been a month I've use my One V and it has started lagging. Even updated to the latest Firmware update available in India, but nothing helped.
4. The Stock People App
The People app on my One V has become slow. I don't even have large number of Contacts (about 50)...
5. Temple Run
Gets stuck when I play Temple Run.
6. USB Tethering
First of all, when I connect my phone to my PC, the options for selecting Disk Drive, Charge Only, etc. pop up after 1 min. Earlier they appeared immediately.
Next, USB Tethering doesn't work every time. When I select USB Tethering and tap Done, the disk drives (HTC STORAGE and Removable Disk as they were named by default) are unmounted, but my PC does not get connected to the internet. After trying a lot of times (by unplugging the phone from the computer) it works once (I mean works after trying for at least 4-5 minutes). Why does this happen?
Make sure HTC will solve these problems.Thanks.

You will do better with an old flip phone than this 400mb (total memory) poser. I feel like I have to do a factory reset everyday to just be able to look at average things like Facebook and my browser pages. You have to clean out your text messages and upload all of your pictures then delete them in order for it to run at desperate speed. It doesn't come with the capability of a sd card, you can't even open the back to get to the battery. If you like the camera on it, just go buy a camera. You'll be better off than with this phone and the stress it will give you.

I bought this phone on Black Friday 2012. At first this phone was great. Then they did a dreaded update during the winter 2013. After that update, my phone is slow as can be. I don't have hardly any apps. I cannot figure out why it seems bogged down. I hate it. I will be purchasing something different soon. Don't waste your money.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Pickle This phone makes me yearn for the good old keypad phones.
The worst phone I've ever come across. The phone takes forever to load especially when I want to open my contacts or text messaging. Even when I restart it a few times, it still can never finish loading. I have been in emergency situations where the phone does not want to load finish so I cannot make any calls. Fortunately my life was not on the line cos the phone may still be loading and I cease..
The phone lags a lot when I'm typing or surfing the net. It's always the case when I'm halfway typing, the phone just hangs cos there's a msg coming in. So I'd have to ignore the phone for awhile until all the msgs come in to continue typing. Occasionally, it will also restart itself. The only commendable feature is it's camera. But then again, sometimes all my pictures go missing when I open my Gallery..
Everyday I have an intense desire to smash the phone to a gazillion pieces. But I stop myself as I remember how much I've spent buying it though yes I know it's cheaper than many smart phones out there but still a substantial amount for me..

Then the memory of this phone is so little! Grrr! Is a waste of money!!!
The camera takes awesome pictures (is the best thing it does).
Now, after a few moths is going ON/OFF by itself!
Worse phone ever!
