Rated 2 out of 5Â by Hedyboo Horrible signal and touch response
My phone after having it replace 3 times, still has poor signal after 1 year, the touch response will at times just stop, I have to turn my phone off and restart just to get it to respond.
I was told the phone has nothing to do with my signal, Yet I had the Mytouch 3g and never, never lost signal. I have to go thru a tunnel to work, never lost signal, This phone, I have to go back to old school and tell people, let me call you back, I'm going thru the tunnel. Very Disappointed. The one redeeming factor is the camara, but i would rather have excellent signal

Rated 5 out of 5Â by PrincessMadrox Excellent Phone!
This is one of the only phones I've absolutely loved for more than a few months and have wanted to keep! It's a beautiful phone with an amazing camera and talk about the audio with the headphones! Amazing with Beats Audio! Screen is nice and large enough for me to type with out having to go back and change any letters, and the swype texting makes things even more easier! Love the screen quality as well, the colors just pop and stand out perfectly! I could go on and on about this phone.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by dipeshks Simply a nice phone
There is not doubt that this phone is simply the best one. I am dissatisfied with some of the aspect such as the internal storage(I cannot access or add songs directly into the internal drive of the phone), and its lack of update to Jelly Bean has also somewhat made me feel little bit sad. Battery, screen resolution, graphics, is very good. The design is fabulous and camera is simply very good.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Tran A spectacularly lovely phone!
It's a lovely phone that I have been using for over half a year now. I have had no problems with it, and it had far past my expectations. The camera is great, and the screen is fantastic.
The only problem I would complain about is perhaps the battery life. A charge a night will do, but if you forget your charger or leave it in your car; you won't fair so well. Also the screen could have been just a "bit" bigger, if I needed to criticize it for a little point.
Otherwise, an amazing phone! ~

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Samiya Jelly Bean Update
I saw the news that One S will not get the Jelly Bean update and that was the same day i had bought the phone. It comes up with such a sleek body that you won't feel outdated in such a competitive market even after 1 year. I simply love the body and it is very easy to handle. Its Camera is 8mp with htc sense effects, proves to be a nice one. Front camera could have been better comparatively. Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus comes up with 2mp front camera, if it had the same one i would have been loving it more. Well, feeling happy to have updated my android. :)
Battery life depends on your consumption, if you use it for gaming and more music, you will need to charge it twice 24hrs. I do messaging and calls and i charge it once in 24hrs. Its a very nice phone and comparing it with other phone brands you will find it quite competitive. I simply love it :)

Rated 4 out of 5Â by VictorW Excellent design, built quality, form factor but not completely without minor flaws. Still a great midrange phone
I have used quite a few of HTC phones. The One S is in my mind one of the best midrange phone.
The phone has excellent metallic body which makes is very durable. The button layout are great and the buttons are easy to press without being too obtrusive. The 4.3'' display is nice and compact. However, the resolution is a tad smaller than what I liked, I personally would prefer to have 720p minimum for such display. I also do not mind to have slightly larger screen of maybe 4.7 or 5'' but I do like the portability of the phone. While the use of AMOLED makes the screen color pop, it does make it a bit too saturated and less accurate in the color reproduction. It's great watching movie and such but reading text and such sometimes do make me wishing it can be LCD. The good thing about the screen is that I do feel that the phone and HTC in general is one of the best out there that has the most accurate color calibration. Not naming names but having watched many displays I feel that the color on the One S and most HTC phones have best screen where white looks real white and not with a yellow or bluish tint. The 16GB storage is pretty standard and you got about 10GB of free storage.
Software and Usage
In terms of the software, the sense 4.x and Jelly bean is a much improvement for HTC. The Jelly Bean update is great as it made the phone feel much speedy and the Google Now is great. I generally like Sense as I feel it brings many great feature and the little visual that HTC puts on the phone, such as lockscreen, personalization, and widgets, are great. One thing that is specially good about the Sense is the Car mode where it makes it much easier to use while driving as the icons are larger and the most useful Apps such as navigation and maps are right in front of you. I also love the flashlight because of the different light intensity feature and FM radio is great addition. The New revamped gallery brings nice feature of grouping pictures by location. I love the looks and feel of the Sense 4 as it is much subdued with flat icons and it feels really speedy. Apps launched fast and navigating through the ui is quick. One thing that I do love to see with the UI is the battery percentage.
The keyboard on the phone is one of the best keyboard that I have used. I love the auto correction and the easiness to type on it. Even on the small screen, typing on it is very easy and not prone to mistakes.
Talking about the camera. While the One S comes with 8MP camera, which is not as big as the 13MP or the ultrapixel, it takes great shot. The Imagesense is great as it produce some of the best shot that I have seen. The low light performance generally is great consider its non-ultrapixel sensor. I enjoy the burst mode and almost lag free shutter. The apps launched very quickly. One thing I do like to see with the camera is the addition of file name system that includes the ability to save files by date, time and location. The front camera on the One S is not the best as it only takes 0.3MP which is pretty bad in my opinion. It gets the job done with video chats but do not expect to take good selfies.
In terms of the battery life, the phone battery life is not super but it is enough to last a moderate use in a day. I am able to charge it at night and use it through out the day checking email, reply email, check texts, listen to music and occasionally watch clips and play some games. If I do more heavier use, then I do find myself need to charge it a bit in the late afternoon but overall, I feel the battery life is surprising good given it's size and battery life.
Overall, I am really happy with the phone for its size, build quality, software and design. Despite some minor complains, I still feel it is one of the best midrange phone I have used.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by FortressDark Great phone, love its aesthetics
I love HTC One S, beautifull phone mine is the black one and it's a pretty good device the only negative points for me are: the frontal camera VGA it doesn't take quality photos; the android upgrade situation :(, and the non existing camera button that is constantly giving me heart attacks! i'm always this close to dropping my phone. The batery isn't that bad actually it really deppends...if you leave lots of apps opened wi fi etc it can uncharge quickly but tehn again so do all devices!

My HTC One S has had the Photo Gallery and the voice recorder lock up 3 times in the first 7 months. Each occurence is remedied only by a "factory reset" causing all photos, voice notes, apps, music, and much more to be wiped out completely.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Ash21 Amazing phone, but the charge is far from amazing
With the beats audio, gorilla glass, and big screen, the HTC one s works great! Except for one major flaw, phone charge, if I keep mine in my pocket during school and don't use it once, it drops at least 70 percent in 6 hours. If you are able to always charge it it's a great choice, but if you are always on the go, look elsewhere

Rated 1 out of 5Â by averycrossedcustomer Okay... I hope the HTC 1 is better
So I get this phone and the first problem I run into is the phone kicking out the SIM card. Anytime I pick up the phone it says that the SIM card is not detected this happens at least 5 times a day. Then when it comes to using the speaker the phone decides to turn off the speaker by itself. if I use a bluetooth it decides to drop the bluetooth if I have a wired hands free headset going into the phone it just hangs up on the caller all together. HTC I had the Mytouch with the sliding keyboard it was a wonderful phone and it worked well. This phone right here should be scrapped.
I really want to know if the HTC 1 is a phone I should get or should I invest my money with Sony Xperia Z or the LG G2?

Rated 4 out of 5Â by buffalo Great device
Before I get into my review of the One S, I want to say my last phone was the HTC Nexus One. That phone is going on 2.5 years old, and still preformed great, so much so that my main motivation for getting a new device was 1. increased storage (the Nexus One has a now-tiny 512Mb of internal memory) and 2. The latest Android OS. So, my frame of reference is from that device to this one.
Getting a One S is getting a new phone in every sense of the word. It takes a micro-SIM card, so you can't swap in your old one, and the SD card is internal as well. It wasn't a big deal to me, but it may be for some. A slight downer was that the phone was not even halfway charged out of the box. As such, I left it charging overnight and didn't really get use it until the next day.
Once I did get to use it, I was very impressed. If you've read any reviews, it's been mentioned the screen quality isn't as good as the One X, but coming from the Nexus One, it's a noticeable improvement and I didn't feel the screen quality was really lacking. I haven't had much experience with the Sense UI, though it feels like the new version integrates pretty well with Android 4.0.
I've only had the phone a couple days, but the overall performance is good I have no complaints in that area. When using the music app, I was pleasantly surprised to discover music controls available from the lockscreen. Another bonus is that Dropbox is pre-installed, and HTC users get a huge bump in storage (25 GB) free for two years.
As for negatives, those are few are far between, but worth noting.
1. Dropbox is a plus, but there are several pre-installed apps I could have done without, 10 in fact.
2. The alarm clock app isn't quite the same, which I'm still trying to find a good replacement.
3. Though the device does come with Gorilla Glass, it's only damage-resistant, not damage-proof. So, it's probably a good idea to put a screen protector on.
4. The keyboard does have a Swype-like feature to it, but it doesn't seem to be as accurate as Swype.
Hope this review helps!

This device is the best due to its speed, performance, battery life, camera speed, screen, Ice Cream Sandwich and smoothness. Beats by Dre definitely makes a difference when listening to my music. I love this phone and I have only had it for a week. Best experience compared to other devices that I have had. Thank you HTC!

I could not believe how fast and responsive this phone is. I have had other HTC phones and this one is amazing. Very thin yet feels solid and the screen is clear and super sharp. I haven't played with all the features yet and I suspect that I will be discovering new ones for a while. There's lots of apps that come pre installed. Calls are very clear and speaker can get real loud. Ok don't even get me started on the camera simply the best. Ditch your pocket cam for quick shots your new HTC ONE S is all you will need. The touch screen keyboard is super responsive and easy to type even for someone with big fingers like myself.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by thatoneguy57 One S
First things first, I am not a professional reviewer, I'm sure that will be evident in this review. Also, I am pretty much an average consumer that rolls with stock software, I don't feel comfortable rooting my phone or anything like that (don't want to end up with a brick#. That being said, here goes.
The One S's hardware is awesome. It is lightweight and thin but still feels very sturdy in your hand. The gradient blue color is very nice looking. The back cover seems to resist finger prints and smudges well. The super amoled screen is a beauty. It's bright and vibrant even in the daylight. Everyone I have showed the phone to comments on the bright clear display.
The initial setup went without a hitch. But setting up the home screens may be a little difficult for some. Once they are set up and arranged the way you like is nice though because it kind of makes the phone unique to you.
I have loaded a lot of my favorite music on the One S and like the sound. Some phones have a tingy sound out of the onboard speaker and not much volume. Right away you can hear the difference from the One S onboard speaker, more volume, and clearer sound. And with the ear buds in and using the Beats Audio you can customize the sound to your own personal preference.
ICS and the new Sense 4.0 seem to work well together. I know some people prefer vanilla Android but, as I said in the beginning of this review, I prefer the ease and organization that Sense provides. The performance is great also with everyday tasks like downloads, web browsing, facebook, and email.
The camera is awesome. I have been trying out some of the different features and I am impressed. The burst mode is cool, but the first couple of times I used it I didn't agree with the camera on which picture was the best and I lost the one I actually wanted to keep.
The lack of being able to add an sd card is not a deal breaker for me personally. I probably wouldn't have put anything larger than16gb in there anyhow. The battery so far has been great, I am putting the phone on the charger once every 24 hours (or so). I am not a power user by any means, but I spend a fair amount of time listening to music, Facebooking, downloading apps, email, texting, and phone calls.
The average user will be more than happy with the features and performance of the One S. There will always be people that want more, but think back to what phones were 10 years ago. The progress in phone technology is constantly moving forward, and the HTC One S is proof of that.
My overall opinion of the One S, I like it!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Mrslimm From Sensation to the One
My sensation is a good phone and still love today. I brought the One S cause i was reading reviews and watching videos and fell in love with the phone from that alone. After buying it I fell in love even more. The phone is very responsive, the screen is crisp and clear, i have no problem with it as some might. The lack of a microSD slot was a let down but it doest have enough memory for me. The camera is another plus very nice. Beats by dr. dre, I dont have the beats headphone but I do hear a difference in quailty but not much. Overall i rate the phone a 9 out of 10, it would be a 10 if there was a microSD slot.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Owner The Best Phone on the Market Today
This is the best phone on the market by far. I am a business owner and really need to stay connected. I am formerly a windows phone user because of the tight integration between phone, tablet and PC apps like Outlook. This phone (like my Sensation before it) is extremely responsive, powerful and entertaining all in one.
I have my corporate email along with all other personal emails integrated and working well, the phone syncs with my tablet and PC and I no longer require an extra camera when I'm out with the family. There is no comparing any Apple or Samsung product to this phone.
No other phone has as many relevant features as this one. No other phone is even on the same level. HTC even out did itself with this one. I actually had to pay full price for two phones (the wife wanted one too) because I just purchased the Sensation last year and let me tell you, it was worth it!
