Rated 5 out of 5Â by MarkD HTC one S - one Amazing smartphone
The camera and video technology in this phone are simply stunning. The rapid fire just helps you get the right shot - and the images are so sharp. This is one of the best designed and best looking smart phones - very stylish, light and incredibly thin. I had a Desire before and was using a Nokia Lumia 800 but the One S has brought me back to HTC/Android.
My one advice if you are a previous HTC user make sure you delete your old version of the sync manager and download the latest version.

I bought this phone in April, and I love it. Yes, it doesn't have expandable memory, but I'm putting everything in the cloud, so what do I need with an SD card slot? Yes, the speaker sound isn't incredibly loud, but it sounds great when I plug it into my car and when I use headphones, so that works for me. There isn't a removable battery, but the battery compartment on my last phone broke and was never the same after I dropped it one time, so I'm actually kind of happy about it. The camera works really well for both pictures and videos, I've installed Chrome as a browser, which has been really fast on 4G. I like the look of it and I like the size of it, it's slim but it has a good-sized screen. I've been using this for over a month and I have no real complaints so far. I highly recommend this phone

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Sonicx13 best phone ever!
I got this phone after I upgraded form a htc explorer and let me tell you it is the best phone ever. I could not let go of it for 3 days. I was using it so much I am surprised that it is not broken.
Also I can not believe the camera, some times the picture is better than the real thing. As well as that the sound system is the best I have ever heard out of a phone.

I'm an avid phone person always wanting the new and better phone every time and almost stop when I bought my HTC Sensation. As soon as this phone was introduced I had to have it. When it came out I was first in line. This phone is awesome, thin, light, has 1G RAM, 16GB storage, beats audio, GHz, 4.3' screen (not a big screen person by the way...just right) and can't forget about the camera/video mode. I text a lot and phone calls but never had a drop call and battery life is very good for me. On occasion I use the navigation lol no I take that back actually almost everyday I use the navigation as well and I just can't find anything to complain about this phone. Quality of sound and video is so good so this is it for me....

Now before I start, I have to say the battery is a bit of a let down. Went 5 hours before it died but apart from that it's a brilliant phone. The design is gorgeous expect it's quite slippery but a case off amazon fixed that straight away. The sound quality is amazing, the apps are brilliant and so easy to download and uninstall and communication with my friends and family is so easy. I've never been a fan of touch screens but BlackBerrys kept letting me down so upgraded to this. What a brilliant decision and investment. If you're considering a new phone, go for an HTC! Blackberrys and iPhones are so overrated and I've had both. This phone has changed my life.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Robii22 Great Phone but Everything has Flaws...
Hola! So, I agree with most of the positives folks have listed... Super productive and great ease of use, great display, its fast, can handle multiple high energy required apps without your battery tanking, etc. This post is for those wanting to know the cons... of course from the perspective an average gal with a busy life. It will help know if the phone will still meet your needs even with the cons.
The phone didn't come in multiple colors when I bought it, I wanted white. The design is nice but super slippery, you will have to get a case... which solved my color issue but still have to buy more. I'm 4'11, on a good day, so the phone is a little wide for my small hands. Can't do the one hand texting thing. The phone does horrible in natural sunlight, it is very tough to see what you're snapping. I have perfect vision so, no, its not me, lol.
The phone doesn't easily switch between portrait and landscape all of the time. When it works, 90% of the time, its great... but when it doesn't its super frustrating. The placement of the camera button is not good. The combination of a wide, thin, slippery phone, with the button on the front, does not make good for taking pics with one hand so you can be in them. Or pics of you solo, when you need a flash, since the front facing doesn't have that. They really should consider a button on the side of the phone.
Last items, the phone gets really hot when working on several apps, even through the case. The keyboard is easy but I find I touch the wrong letters often, thank goodness for the spell ck! There is no external storage, ie, micro sd card. They do have a backup with a data storage site called Dropbox. I had heard of it before, so knew about it... just gotta take the extra step to get the free storage. Pretty cool how it automatically stores photos. Overall, I like the phone compared to my old G1 and Mytouch and would recommend it.
*sidenote: the phone randomly cuts off for 2-5 mins. Not sure if it is the phone updating software or if it is my T-mobile network??? I got the phone when it first came out and it has happened 3 times.

I have been using the one s for about a month now love this little phone the first one i had over heated and just didnt work right the second one i got it messed up to but then i got the new update for it and seems to work great i understand its still a new phone and its going to have a few bugs in it all new phones do its camera is amazing love that fact that i can take pics and shoot video at the same time and continuously have a several apps open at the same time, the resent task button makes it easy to switch from task to task, durability is good considering after a week i dropped it and ya i put a scratch or two on it but didnt break anything, sound quality is amazing as well i use it in my car and use the bluetooth headsets and its amazing clear the only thing i will complain about is the keyboard i went from the inspire 4g witch was ok but the keyboard was great on it i didnt have to look to txt on the one s my fingers arent big but arent small either and they hit other buttons ect but over all a great phone i would recommend this to anyone

Rated 5 out of 5Â by TerryUrbanizle HTC One S - S for Stunning.
The One S is a fantastic phone, I went for it because the battery life is much better than the One X (according to review sites) and I had the original HTC Desire so I loved HTC Sense and was used to HTC. I did contemplate the S3 but I'm glad I didn't get it.
I would say that the only downside to the phone is that there is no dedicated camera button on the side, or, there is not the option to tap the screen to take a picture - which was a great feature on the HTC Desire.
However with that aside, the One S is One Stunning phone, a phone that is not to be left on the shop/or website shelve.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by CaryT No Bluetooth Dialing?! What are you thinking?!
In this respect this phone is a step backwards in basic functionality I have had for 8 years. I love everything else about this phone but this is a show stopper. If I were uber picky I would say something about the downgraded screen compared to the One X or the inferior processor compared to that same phone and the fact that they charge the same price for this phone. Not recommended if you require Bluetooth Voice Dialing. This is my best option if I am going to stay with my provider. This was supposed to be an upgrade from my G2 that had that functionality, so did my G1 before that, in this case I am settling for HTC.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by frettfreak WOW... Just WOW
So i bought this phone honestly with the full intent of returning it in a week or so when the galaxy S3 comes out for tmobile. However, i am not sure that will happen now. i have had an HTC phone since the G1.. so i am very familiar with their phones. But i switched to a nexus s for a while but let me tell you that this is NOT the HTC or the Sense you are used to.
I cannot say enough great things about this phone and the overall user experience on the device. the camera is FLIPPING INCREDIBLE. Best i have ever used on a cell phone by a HUGE MARGIN.
the ONLY negative mark i would give this phone is the lack of NFC (had it on my nexus and have not used it ONCE so its really not that big a deal). But so far, that is IT. I am so impressed by this phone!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ally Love this phone
I absolutely love my new phone not found one fault yet! The camera is amazing and there are so many cool and handy features it is just the best, I am the proud owner of an ipad2 and so I did not want to gt an iPhone as I think it would be like just getting a smaller version of my iPad , as someone who owns htc and apple products I would say that if you don't want an iPhone but you want something that can do everything the htc one s is for you! The htc one x looks good also, but if you want a slimmer prettier(slightly more feminine?) phone that still does everything you need and more then I'd recommend the htc one s

Although I've only had this phone a short time, I would highly recommend it. It is an amazing phone with a fast processor and a very clear screen. Pictures come out crystal clear with vibrant colors. It is recommended though to buy the silver-blue version, as it doesn't have as many external issues as the black-red model. It scared me at first knowing that the battery was non removable because I am one to take the battery out when the phone freezes, but so far I have had no issues, this phone is great!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by NeoSSX Great phone!!! There's no denying it!!!
Let's start from the outside. The phone is less than 8mm thick, making the phone feel very light and that is only the beginning. The screen is an AMOLED 4.3" screen which has it's advantages, allowing the screen to be brighter and use less energy than normal LED phones. The 8 Mega-pixel camera on the back of the phone takes sharp images and the colours that are captured are vibrant and realistic. Full 1080p Video recording is another feature which allows users to bring video to life and allows everything to be clear. There is also a front-facing camera (0.3MP) is a great addition to this phone as it allows to you to unlock your phone with your face!!! (More on that later) The speaker on the back of the phone is the last thing to talk about in terms of what there is on the outside. The sound that comes out of the speaker isn't the loudest, but the sound is clear, and to me that is more important.
Now let's talk about the actual phone itself. The phone has a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Processor clocked at 1.5GHz and I have to be honest, it is fast! It will basically do everything you want it to do in a matter of seconds. The dedicated Adreno 225 GPU provides great graphics , which allows users to play many top title games such as Asphalt 6 and NFS Hot Pursuit without a problem. The phones has 1GB RAM (which is more than enough to open up the apps that you ever want to open) and 16GB of Storage which may not be enough for everyone's needs, but 25GB of extra online storage via Dropbox should be enough to fulfill the majority of people. The phone unfortunately doesn't have a MicroSD Card slot, and also uses a Micro SIM, but that issue can easily be resolved.
The phone runs on HTC Sence 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) which brings along many improvements in terms of performance and features. One of the main features that Android 4.0 brings is Face Unlock, which allows users to unlock their phones... by simply allowing the phone to take a look at your face. (It should unlock if it recognises you, but you can easily make yourself more 'recognisable' by improving face matching) The user interface is smoother than every phone I've had before and the display is the best I've ever had on a phone as well. The display (Resolution of 960*540) doesn't disappoint when you're watching videos or playing games. I personally think that everything is crystal clear, but as phones start to have bigger screens, there will be the need for pixel density to increase. The phone also has features that you would expect of most phones today e.g. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS etc.
Lastly, I'm going to talk about the sound/music side of the phone. Why? Because it has 'Beats Audio' and what I expect is that this means great sound quality. If you're going to ask what 'Beats Audio' is in the phone, I can tell you that it's just a sound enhancer which can only be used when you've got earphones or headphones connected. The sound enhancer actually does a very good job and serves it's purpose very well, making music more lively, bass deeper and voices more clearer.
I'll have to be honest now, I love this phone. It has many great features that only certain phones have, and it's a phone that has the looks. I would recommend this phone to anybody who is looking for a new phone, but doesn't want to go all out to get the best of the best, because I think that this is the best that anybody needs.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by TheSouthernBaron 4th HTC Android based phone.
My 1st Android phone was (now retired) the HTC Google Nexus One. Then I moved on to the HTC MyTouch 4G and onward to the HTC sensation 4G (horrible touch screen responsiveness) then as of 6/19/12 the HTC One S.
On all levels this phone out performs all previous HTC model Android phones i've owned.
Absolutely a beautiful design, touch screen responsive, blazing fast access to apps, settings, web etc. I love the built in caller ID that details a number that is calling you that is not in your contacts. Eg; a company number etc. calling you. Oh and the Beats integration throughout the platform is amazing especially while using ear buds to answer or make calls...super clarity with that bass, yo!
I could go on and on about my impressions about this device but do it for yourself. Go down to your nearest retail carrier and use their active floor model. Trust me you'll be pleased.
And yea I know all these other Android based phones are coming out but my personal preference for any manufacturer that skins Android is Sense from HTC.
Happy shopping and way to go HTC on this model.
Satisfied HTC One S owner =)

Listen, I love HTC phones, but there are two problems for me.
The battery cannot be removed, it is stuck where it is, this can only lead to problems, as so many issues with my HTC Wildfire are resolved by simply removing the battery.
The second is that there is no MicroSD card slot.

Now had the phone just over a week, All i can say is what a phone fast , smooth and good looking. It can do everything you want and more. The battery life is not great but as good as my old Sony. Also the loud speaker could be louder, but i think this can be said for all HTC's . Overall for my first HTC i have to say i am very imprest. As for build quality you wont fined better.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Alan1971 HTC One is Number One!
The screen is vividly bright and the super AMOLED display is perfectly visible when outdoors. The resolution is great and text, images and video are crystal clear.
Sense 4.0 and Android 4 work together really well. HTC have toned down Sense where needed and streamlined things to make it more intuitive. If you are already familiar with Android you won't be scratching your head trying to figure things out.
Although you will get the perk of finding little useful nuggets along the way too.
Face unlock is a bit gimmicky but does work and work well. I love the Swype option for the keyboard. Other people have commented that it is harder to type accurately (and quickly) on this phone and I agree. The layout is slightly different to earlier models and the keys are certainly closer together in normal 'portrait' mode, so mis-typing is common. But trust me, select the Swype option and be amazed. You don't have to be that accurate and 49 times out of 50 you will get the word you wanted. Typing speed therefore increases ten-fold. Brilliant!
The camera is just awesome. You have a range of options - low light, HDR, panorama, portrait etc. And the image quality really does rival most compact digicams. You even have inbuilt editing to tinker with the photo's which is a godsend. Fantastic work on the camera side HTC.
Beats Audio gives all the music/audio some nice bass and a much fuller sound to the music. Listening on headphones you have quality that in my opinion is better than my ipod. The stock music player is okay allowing multiple playlists and various options and even lets you download the album art if you require.
The oleophobic coating on the screen is a big bonus. My previous HTC Desire used to drive me to distraction with fingerprints and smudges and I was forever buffing the screen each time I touched it. The One S doesn't have that problem, sure you still do get marks and smudges but they are less apparent, easier to wipe away and don't affect viewing of the screen to any degree.
I feel that the phone pretty much has addressed many of the things I would have wanted to be included on a new phone. The old favourites have remained like the animated weather. I would have perhaps liked to see a micro-SD card slot. Yes you do get 25GB of dropbox storage (after you jump through a few hoops) which is good but 16GB onboard (9.5GB actually free) is a little measly. Even having another 32GB model on sale would have been something?
A few people have complained about chipping. I do have the black MAO (micro-arc oxidation) model and thankfully have not noticed any chipping yet although I have been handling it like a newborn baby! There are tiny scuffs appearing around the usb charging slot though as it's a tight fit to get in and out so these might worsen over time. I do like the premium feel of the phone though, it feels solid and well-built in the hand and you can see the thought that has gone into the design. There are beautiful curves and chamfers making this a very attractive piece of kit. Wonderfully thin too - just think of practically any other smartphone on a strict diet!
All in all an excellent phone and highly recommended. Well done HTC.

I love my HTC One S. Its pretty light and SO easy to use,the camera is fantastic,I can take pics of my Shi Tzu puppy and my 18 month old grandson without any problems at all.
If I have got a complaint (and its more of a moan really) its that its just too big for me,I had the Wildfire S before and as I have only got little hands it was fantastic. But I can't use this phone 1 handed. But that aside its great,if you are thinking of getting 1,just do it,its brilliant.

I finally have a good phone. I've had the Sidekick 4G and the BlackBerry Flip before this phone and they both have been terrible. The only issue with this phone is the thin body and the keyboard (but that is probably because I am used to fatter phones and physical keyboards). Oh, also, it heats up! But it cools down very quickly. The HTC One S is a very quick phone and super responsive. The graphics are amazing along with the camera. There are so many options. Simply a magnificent phone.
