Rated 2 out of 5Â by Nick012 Poor Memory
Choose this due to the music performance, what was hugely disappointing was the lack of available memory space to actually put music onto. As advertised it has 4Gb of internal memory but the OS uses 3Gb so you are left with next to no space and having to buy an SD card. READ the small print and proceed with caution. Considering sending the phone back as it is not suitable for purpose intended.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by sadsusan The worst phone I have ever had.
I am angry and appalled that I have to have this phone for 2 years under contract. It is utterlyprubbish. The first couple of months goe ok but by the 6th it becomes slow, unresponsive, crashes, makes it incredibly difficult getting online and constantly goes off and on apps without you touching the screen! The keypad is badly designed with my standard texts containing fullstops instead of spaces because the buttons are too thin.
It can frequently take 7 attempts to open up a text or even the internet. Even connected to WiFi it took me 10 minutes to successfully make it onto this webpage. Even as I write this review the screen and cursor jump around as though I have the fattest thumbs in the world...
I know mine isn't a one off. My boyfriend has the same phone in black and his does the exact same thing with the same problems around the same time.
I will.never.be getting a HTC again.
Sorry for the typos, doing my best on such a small keyboard. I turn it sideways and the keyboard is too spreading out and uncomfortable to use urghhh just one more year of.this and I.can go back to Nokia or even get myself an iPhone.....

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bubbles Better than the Wildfire S
Ive just got this phone from T-Mobile and I think it's great. I really wanted the HTC One but couldn't afford the phone bill so, got this one. At first I thought it would be like the Wildfire S. Witch I thought was slow and not easy to use. The camera is great. Not like other phones when you take a photo it takes a few section to take when pressing the button to take a photo. But this one is like a normal camera. So far I'm very happy with it, and for only £15,50p a month I don't think it's bad.

OMG what a phone i was not expecting this. The phone itself is light weight and well deisgned and it would be great for young people. I think its worth much more than that maybe £200-£230 definatly recommend this to anyone over the age of 10

I just recently purchased this phone and I am pleased. Build quality is brilliant and so far I have not regretted my purchase. It has all the latest features you could ask for and it always puts a smile on my face when I'm using it. Of course it will not keep up with more expensive handsets but when your paying less than £200 on this mobile you are going to be very happy on what it can do and how effortlessly you will be able to use it. My brother is considering buying one now and chucking his iphone 3gs which I consider underpowered and overpriced compared to my htc desire c!

Got this phone 5 weeks ago from the 3 store. It is a great phone and it is perfect for calling and texting. The sound quality is great and the battery life is astonishing. This is my first phone and I am happy with it's performance. I pay £13 a month for 100 minutes, 5000 texts, unlimited use of internet and 2000 3 to 3 minutes. Great for the value!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by RoopyE Great smartphone!
This is my very first smart phone. I only got it because it was so much cheaper than other ones. I was worried that this would mean that it wouldn't be as good but thats not the case at all. It has everything I want and need in a smart phone all rolled into one :) It's easy to use and although the battery life doesn't last as long as my last 'normal' phone I know this is because of all the apps and things that I use on a regular basis. The only negative thing I have to say is that the camera isn't that great and would be much better if it came with a flash.

2 Years ago T-Mobile gave me an HTC Wildfire that was very good and after last renewal I was expecting at least an equivalent quality phone for the same monthly rate. What T-Mobile gave me this time is the HTC Desire C that is really a sluggish carcass. You might feel it quick at the shop but just until you load it with your Google contacts and email account it becomes an annoyance: For every action it takes a while even to turn on, there are problems with the logic of the software as it requires internet connection for actions that are to be made in the phone. Today I spent the whole morning without signal while it was showing bars and without reason taking me to choose a wireless connection!! What for!!?? So illogical an bad built-in operative system. Not serious phone, like a dummy full of candies and unsubstantial i-phone looking silliness. If you get an HTC you expect to use it as an HTC not as a new unpractical course of how to do things in a different way.

The phone is very amazing. My previous phone 'iphone 3gs' is not as good as this one.Excellent sound.I'm a big fan of Beats by Dr Dre so this is an excellent phone for me.I didn't buy the HTC sensation XE because it was to big and I already have ibeats.
I would recommend this phone to people who like to customize the phone and like to listen to music. It's a little bit harder to use than the iphone but it's quick to learn how to use it.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Toyah VERY Disappointed.
I changed yesterday from a Wildfire, i loved my phone but random things kept going wrong with it, I wish i had NOT changed to a Desire C.
The camera sounded ok BUT there's NO FLASH & NO Auto focus, tried to take a pic of my budgie & it was rubbish quality compared to my Wildfire.
I suppose it's a good phone if you've not had a better one but to me it feels like i've gone a step backwards.

I purchased this mobile phone on the 1st august, at first I was expecting something like the Sony Ericsson xperia, the day I got it I was expecting a half a day battery life and a slow phone but the battery life is outstanding, it lasts around three days and if you close the apps every hour the mobile phone's performance is excellent. I would recommend this phone to people who play games daily etc.

I've had a HTC desire C for a few months. I cannot open up "people" which is the phonebook. It crashes every time. It fails to update my apps, always get loads of error messages. The connection on it is very bad, breaks up during phone calls.
Dont buy it people!

Rated 4 out of 5 Great for Teens!
Coming from an HTC Desire HD, I was not expecting much...I was very much wrong. Why? The screen size is just the perfect size (same as an iPhone 3.5inches) but in terms of the quality and resolution of the screen, it's nowhere near as good as the iPhone 4's Retina display but needless to say that things are very readable but is just your average phone screen. What do you expect for £140!?
The web experience was surprisingly fast when loading pages but moving around the page and pinching to zoom fast was a bit choppy. It still features the auto resize to screen which is standard on all HTC's nowadays.
The built in speaker is very good especially during voice calls when you're using the speakerphone because unlike other smart phones, you can actually hear the person LOUD and CLEAR.
Messaging with this phone is very fast and easy. You don't think, you just do it. The qwerty keyboard is a pleasure to use with compliments from the 3.5" screen size. Not too much of a stretch and not too cramped.
This phone is built like as if it was made by NASA. How's that? You've got a solid back cover which is plastic and since it covers the whole back of the phone, it hugs it in to place and will never fall off when you drop it. The phone in general feel very very sturdy and rugged.
A downside is that the 600Mhz processor is a bit outdated and slow for my liking but lets not forget, this is a budget phone designed for teens and such.
Another downside is the camera does NOT have an auto-focus feature like it's predecessors unfortunately (takes very quick snaps though but video quality is appalling). Why this was removed is beyond me but in conclusion this phone is a cool groovy phone that will keep any average teen satisfied and should hopefully shut them up for the next year. Also this phone is great if you just want to occasionally surf the web and take some quick snaps every now and then and you are on a budget.
This review was written by a genuine customer and not a professional reviewer. Hope this helps!

This is the best mid-range spartphone that you will ever see. Almost everything about it is perfect. It looks beautiful, fits in your hand easily, and does what it needs to and more. My only problems are that you can only have 5 home-screen pages, which is a bit annoying, and that sometimes it gets laggy, but thats a given really. Get this phone folks!

Having upgraded from a Nokia I was pleased to have an android powered smartphone. As soon as I got received the phone I started I started using it like I had experience! It was very easy to use and guided me through a tutorial on how to use the phone which was very helpful. I has a nice camera however, it lacks a flash and auto-focus which makes close-ups bad. However, it takes pictures amazingly fast. The phone is quite fast and is mediocre when power using and is good for 600Mhz. The apps are great and memory is alright. I have an 8gb micro sd so its fine for me. the sound quality is unbelievable as it is Beats audio although it is a shame it doesn't come with beats headphones. I would recommend the phone to anyone looking for a great first smartphone, or someone looking for a great cheap phone.

This is the worst phone I have ever had. It is unbelievably slow and it takes about half an hour to actually load something on the internet. My phone has already been sent away once and currently needs sending away again for the same problem. My messages will not load and it's really annoying. I hate hate hate this phone and has totally put me off HTC phones for good!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by heidilouise no where near as good as the wildfire
I went to get a new phone to replace my Wildfire S which I loved, but which had been dropped so many times it was held together by bluetack. I wanted to stay with HTC as I had no problems with them but the Desire C does not feel like an upgrade! There is no flash at all so I can't take decent pictures or use the flashlight app which was surprsingly helpful and there is no notification light either so I have to waste battery turning the screen on to check for texts. I don't understand why a new phone would not have flash on it, my phone 8 years ago did! Another thing I dislike is the lack of options button that was on the wildfire, I'm sure I will figure out how to control the settings but it was so much easier on my old phone. Maybe I will get use to the Desire but at the moment I'm not happy with it, like a previous review said I feel it is a step back and as for 'beats audio' I have an ipod to listen to music on so I would rather have other features.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by patsiboy Simply excellent. Perfect choice for around 200 euro.
coming from an iPhone 4, i wanted a smartphone tops 250 euro which can do everything I need. i.e be my music player, my gps, and something easy to use. I chose Desire C between other "rivals" such as xperia U, and nokia Lumia 610. And I believe that I made the right choice. It's brilliant. easy to transfer music, the battery life is as expected, (needs charge every 2 days), google maps do the work i need for a gps, (although i haven't tried yet other navigation apps). Its as slim as a smartphone has to be. gets in my pocket perfectly easy. Feels very nice as you hold it too. It is considered small for a smartphone, and many may not like that, as when they think about a smartphone, they think the dimensions samsung galaxy S3 and HTC ONE X have. However, I believe that these dimensions are for a tablet and not for a phone. But if you want to use a smartphone mostly for navigation, then yes, go buy One X.
The design is nice. love the red details.
Love that its the android 4.0, many + for that.
On the down side, i thought that the 600 MHz (or the 512 RAM (dont know which does the most work)) would be enough. however sometimes that i have many apps opened, i see that the corresponding is slow. but as I said before, my previous phone was an iphone 4 so I understand the difference. And we are talking about a smartphone i bought for 200 euros.
the other thing is that desire C can have more storage with the help of a memory card, but u should consider this as a must. some music and some apps, and the total storage is gone..
there is no flash for the camera. however, you can see other smartphones in that value that have a flash, and they dont really do a good work, so its ok.
And the last thing I didnt know about until i bought it, is that although it says it has HTC sence4.0, there are many things that Decire C doenst support, as you can find in the HTC sence webpage.
I believe Desire C is perfect for anyone who doesn't want to spend much. perfect for a first smartphone.
HTC has done a great job to build a smartphone like Desire C. Perfect value for money.

I got this phone as a birthday present and its amazing! Great camera, screen and build quality. I got through a day of heavy usage and it still had over 25ttery. Apps and websites run smoothly and preinstalled apps are great. The keyboard is easy to use and I am typing this on my HTC desire c. I greatly recommend this to anyone and with so many free apps this a very well rounded phone

Texting - Predictive text is appalling and frustrating,
Build - hardly used but screen has hairline crack,
Signal detection - it is the worst in our household with varied phones types for network and wifi signal detection.
Apps - Unclear how to close apps.
3 - Doesnt seem to integrate well with the 3 network

I've had it for over 6 months now and I am a hardcore smartphone user. I must say the telephone is extremely laggy,it takes 30-40 seconds to open an app or even more to do something with it. Camera takes even longer to respond. I guess I have to constantly reboot it ( every 2 weeks) ,it works okay for a few days then goes back to being just horrible. It's not my phone that it's faulty, there are many users complaining about the same problems. Most of the reviews on here are written just a couple days after the phone being purchased. I am sure they all have the same problem .

Rated 1 out of 5Â by DESIRECVICTIM Can You Guess What 'C' Stands For
It's like the original HTC Desire only worse in almost every way. Worse screen, worse battery performance, worse processor, worse camera (no flash), worse UI response time, worse reception as phone. Also it's a bit smaller. You'll never know if they've fixed the 'too little onboard memory' problem of the original HTC Desire as you won't bother to install enough apps on this brick to find out. Vendors will try - as they did with me - to sell this to you as an 'upgrade' to the original HTC Desire. Do not - as I did - fall for their lies. Extremely disappointed in HTC for this shoddy substandard product, which has nothing to do with 'Desire' at all. DOES NOT DO WHAT SAYS ON TIN. AVOID.

Not my first htc but by far the best ive owned so far ( I have 2 htc wildfire's, same size phone and screen but so much slower!) As a responce to others on here,
yes it uses its ram up quickly but you dont need to reboot just use the inbuilt task manager to kill the apps.
The keyboard and predictive typing are fiddly and annoying but you do get used to it with prolonged use ( i found the iphone as fiddly)
overall a very good upgrade, fits in my hand comfortably and as ive dropped it a few times now still no external damage. Only 1 problem i see is the battery could be better, i use the internet alot all day and it eats the battery to the point of having to charge it overnight, but as thats the only problem i have it doesnt matter! i just have lots of chargers for it lol
