This is my first smart phone and I think it's incredible! Simple to use, takes great pictures, and has a great screen! A lot of people complain about the battery life, but I find it to be manageable. Very impressed with this phone!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by user22112200 Great Performance!!!!!!
I got the DNA December of 2012 and I am still impressed with the speed of this phone. The phone never has errors and it plays streaming video with very little pauses. I love the fact I can watch ESPN in HD anytime and the picture is better than my HD TV. The phone is very durable and shows no wear after 4 months of use. I started a new job and they gave me an Iphone 4s to use. The Iphone just lacks the options that one can do on an android phone. I hate how the GUI is set up on the Iphone and I am always looking for the back button but they don’t have one. I would recommend the DNA to anybody that likes a phone that is very responsive and loves a 1080 hd picture. Great Buy!!!!!

I have owned this phone for 3 weeks. I have been very pleased with the performance of the phone and its features. The battery life is typically two days. The feature to use a charging pad in lieu of plugging it in is really nice. I would recommend this phone.

I was reluctant to purchase this phone because I was awaiting the HTC One. But my better judgement in conjunction with pass Verizon release dates forced me to purchase this one.
I couldn't be happier with my decision. This is a great phone that is unjustifiably underrated and overlooked. This phone is fast, has a great screen and great camera. The batter life is better than any Android I have had in the past.
If I had held out for the HTC One I would still be using my Galaxy Nexus. I'm glad I purchased the best Verizon had to offer at the time.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by inkdork Loving my first smartphone!
While it took me some time to get the basics of this phone sorted out, overall its very easy to use and I don't have any real complaints except compared to my previous non-smart phones, the battery life is lousy. I had to buy a car charger because I'm only getting about 12 hours at best out of this thing, and really the only app I use heavily is the Kindle app because I read at the gym.
I do wish they would have included the manual with the phone and not just that almost useless quick start guide, because I did need to download and read almost the entire manual to get the hang of using this phone. Arranging icons on the desktops, removing icons, adding them, adding new desktop "pages" all should have been covered in the quick start but was not.
If you do a lot of texting or other typing form this phone, I recommend turning on the trace typing- it will save you a lot of errors, and a ton of time when composing messages, emails, or texts.
This phone is a lot of fun to use, and while I till feel I was railroaded into upgrading to a smart phone, I am happy with my choice of this particular model. Its really nice, and does a lot- very pleased.

Great phone.. Battery life is so-so but the bad is outweighed by the good.. the display is amazing.. The camera is top notch.. Sense 4+ is pretty lack luster but with sense 5 it runs flawlessly and is just all in all a beautiful device.. I would much rather have this over the HTC One because this has a bigger display.. Sure you give up a hair of pixel density but it's not enough to really worry. I think this is by far the best android device Verizon has. I have been away from android for quite a while.. HTC has really upped their game with Sense 5.. Its great.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by BOODNA Great phone, but serious sim card issues
The phone has great features. The display is excellent for watching movies. Sound quality is good. The only downfall is the sim card issue that neither Verizon nor HTC has figured out how to eliminate. Despite Verizon's efforts to fix the issue it never goes away. Buyer beware. You will be stuck with a phone that constantly disconnects from all phone service capabilities.

I recently had to upgrade my Droid Pro and looked online at reveiews and cheapest upgrade prices. My sister has the HTC one and loves her phone so when I saw that it was HTC and Droid I knew it was the one. The screen is HUGE and so clear its super fast. So far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Sickspeed The Droid your looking for.
This has got to be the best droid I have ever had, with the exception of the og droid. HTC has out done themselves with this phone. The look and comfortable feel of the phone is great. Performance is completely smooth. The 1080p screen speaks for itself, everything is so clear and easy to read. I know new phones are coming out every day, but this is the first phone I can honestly say that I could see myself using for a year or two. Keep it up HTC.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by ReallyAngryVerizonUser Too good to be true
This phone was amazing when I bought it soon after it launched. However, it soon started to go down hill. Not only was almost half of the memory taken up by useless factory apps, the phone started doing things randomly after only seven months. The phone has a known software issue where it drops the sim card and basically becomes a shiny brick unless you have WiFi. I have to restart the phone numerous times trough out the day to regain signal. In addition to that, it goes into dock and car mode randomly, which causes whatever I am doing at the time (call, text, app, etc) to crash. Also, the WiFi turns on and off randomly as well.

This phone is horrible!!! This is my 2nd one in 5 months, the first one kept dropping calls and rebooting the sim card randomly all the time... when I was reading my kindle or playing candy crush or even just making phone calls. Now the replacement they gave me the speaker doesn't work the phone rings I pick it up and no one can hear me and I cant hear them....this is so frustrating!!!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by SMX4 Great if you dont ever wanna talk on the phone or use the 4g mobile hotspot.
I Ordered this phone as an Upgrade to my Droid Incredible 2. i loved the huge screen except when it came to trying to text. I am used to texting with one hand not two but i think over time i would have gotten used to it. the 4g network was super fast and i was happy with that but anytime i made a call the person on the other line couldnt hear me unless i held the phone a certain way and stayed perfectly still while talking otherwise everyone said it sounded like i was "in a tunnel" when i would just be doing daily activities. Another thing i had an issue with is i use the mobile hotspot feature when im at work or out and about and want to use my laptop for a bigger screen to play with... i tried to get the 4g mobile hotspot to connect my laptop to the internet for hours before giving up. it would connect to the network but had no internet connection. the phone itself would still get online but the laptop never did, which was really frustrating. last complaint: this isnt a big deal i could have handled this if it was the only problem ..... everytime anyone texted me i got the message in duplicate or triplicate.... every ... single... text.... now i maybe send a few hundred texts a day or less but to recieve a hundred replies in duplicate or more can be a little annoying but nothing so outrageous you cant deal with the constant noise of notification of the same message three times... Good features.... i only had the phone for a week and a half before boxing it up and sending it back but the battery life was very good... better than i thought it would be for as much as i use it on a daily basis... charging was super fast... using apps like internet explorer, facebook... twitter so on so forth all blazing fast no issues there...games were fluid... beautiful display... great camera... i really think if it werent for the call quality and the 4g hotspot i would have kept the phone... Oh yes... i forgot.. it also does NOT have a place for expandable memory but thats not really a deal breaker for me and you should know that before you buy the phone if you read the specs... anyway... maybe i just got a glitchy phone but instead of getting a DNA replacement im going to try out the samsung Galaxy S4 and see what all the hype is about... hopefully these small issues wont be a problem with that one :-)

Rated 3 out of 5 HTC DNA is a beast of a prototype
HTC DNA is a beast of a prototype.. Ok, I say prototype because although a fantastically crafted shell it is plagued with hardware issues. I do not believe these issues to be software related but the 2 main issues I have experienced after 6 months is the SIM card disconnecting and the 3.5mm audio port will disconnect my audio randomly.
The SIM card issue appeared after a month or so and the audio port just started acting up. I have corrected the SIM card problem myself by applying a small piece of tape to the top of the SIM card helping it fit in the sim slot more snuggly. I have not had 1 SIM card drop after the piece of tape was applied telling me this is a hardware issue which has also plagued other HTC phones in the past not just the DNA.
The reason I say prototype is because the HTC One seems to be the upgraded version of the DNA, which has a slighly better processor than the DNA and front facing speakers.
I do not recommend this product because I would have purchased the HTC One if it was available for Verizon but sadly it is not (at this time). If you have the option get the HTC One or the Galaxy S4 which is available from VZ. Lastly I want to remark on the "Beats audio" which I believe to be a gimmick. Beats audio is more of an equalizer setting as opposed to a higher quality audio output. It seems to help in my wifes civic because her stock speakers are terrible, but in my mazda 3 with a premium sound package the bass tends to be "flat" when using Beats. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helps give some insight into the phone. If you are purchasing this phone lets hope you do not get a lemon like many other DNA users have.

Rated 2 out of 5 An Amazing Phone That Can't Be Used As A Phone
Due to a KNOWN software issue with the sim card disconnecting randomly/repeatedly/regularly/constantly, making phone calls, ostensibly the entire reason for owning a phone, is a rare ability, that, when it works, is quite good, with few issues in hearing, or being heard by, the other person, but as the phone will dismount the sim card often when in the midst of a phone call (imagine being told a family member has died and having the phone drop the call in the middle of that because of the sim card dismounting, because that happened to me...), this is not something one should expect to occur very often. The actual features of the phone are quite good (amazing screen, long battery life, no lag when playing games, and so on), even in spite of the bloatware. If I were to be able to go back to when I bought this phone, I'd have made the same choice my wife did and bought the GS3 instead.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by WindowsPhoneFriend Outstanding!
I've been a Windows Phone user for a few years and overall am still a fan of the platform due to its simplicity and stability. However, there were a few features that attracted me to the Android platform this time around. This phone is a work of art. It's beautiful to look at, amazingly thin, feels great in your hand and has rock-solid build quality. The SnapDragon processor is uber fast, so there's no delay in running your favorite apps. The ultraclear display dazzles. Watching videos is a treat. It works seamlessly with Microsoft Exchange, so work email, tasks, contacts and appointments are instantly available. Call quality is superb and my bluetooth device connects with no problems. The keyboard is one of the best I've ever used. All in all, this phone is exceptional and is on par with a Galaxy S4. At this price it is a much better value.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by alex0314 great phone but sim card issues
I got the DNA on thursday and I loved it. I loved the huge beautiful display and the performance of the phone. But then I started experiencing SIM card issues like a lot of other people. It happened twice now in 2 days and it sounds like there is no fix until there is a software update. Pretty disappointing Verizon...ruined a perfect phone ): keeping my fingers crossed for a fix.

Everyone constantly makes fun of how big my phone is but I absolutely love it. I researched for a good 2 months before I finally settled on the DNA. I've had it since Feb of this year (2013) and it's the best phone I've ever had in my life. I don't know if I'll be able to tear myself away from it when my upgrade is due. haha

Rated 2 out of 5Â by DDJR SIM card issue don't buy!
Nothing but problems since a month or so after i purchased this phone. You have to reboot over and over till you go to a authorized dealer to fix it or replace SIM card. Excellent phone otherwise! Love it but in my line of work being down even one hour is dramatic. Purchased two and my wifes phone did the same thing just over a month also.

I am in love with this phone. I had to upgrade back in May (2013) due to problems with my previous phone. The display is amazing to look at, lots of apps and features available, and the fact that it comes with Beats Audio is pretty awesome, if you enjoy listening to music that is. The camera quality is also outstanding. People often ask what type of camera I use to take my pictures! I get a lot of comments on the size of the phone, but personally, I love it. It did take some getting used to at first because my hands are small, but now that I'm adjusted, I love it! The durability is great to, though I do normally have a case on it, I have dropped it several times and so far it hasn't been broken and the paint has not chipped. Internet browsing is super fast, and I always get great reception. I would highly recommend this phone. Battery life is very good. I can normally go an entire day with moderate to heavy use, and by the end of the day it still has about 20% battery remaining.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by classicsb sim card errors and first screen that's ever broke on me
Well...like those who have reviewed before me, I too have had the sim card issues. Never a disconnect during a call, but as I would go to pick it up to make one I would notice No Service message due to the sim card error. Restart the phone, take the sim card in and out and everything back to normal...with 8 missed texts and 2 voicemails now popping up.
Was very attracted to the large screen which is nice but cracked without ever dropping it once (had it in my pocket while bike riding, pulled it out and the screen was spiderwebbed).
Recommend? Well, if you can live with the sim card errors, (which for me were sporadic, nothing for a month, then maybe 2 or 3 times in a day) then maybe I would suggest it because of that beautiful large screen (but realize that the size of the glass means more of a chance to break, in 12 years of having a cell phone this is the first screen I've ever cracked).
